Yes, the zapper is almost impossible to clean with a brush - I bring a can of compressed air with me ("Dust Off" 12 oz.). It comes with a very narrow long tube. Swish swish and they are all gone. Also, at least 20 times faster. I usually find a good complement of mosquitoes zapped.

@Thecarcissist12
@Thecarcissist12 Год назад
As most have already stated the uv light doesnt work on mosquitoes, and even if it did, putting it on the table next to you would than atteact all the mosquitoes in the area to where you are, any attractant traps should be placed on the outskirts of your camp to lure them away

Zappers dont kill mozzies. They kill moths and if you empty the catcher you'll see no mosquitos in it but you will find a truck load of moths.

Well produced video. Unfortunately your view on the zapper is incomplete. Zappers mainly kill everything but mosquitoes because they are not attracted to light. It’s usually non-bitting flies, moths and other types of insects. It would be good to also talk about the long term cost of use of the Thermacell. Love your music!

So true. Mosquitos avoid most traps. I wanted a Dynatrap but nope. Got the money aMosquito Magnet at $300 works on most mosquitoes. Nothing else goes in. It uses propane to make CO2 which the females are drawn to. But this is a camping video so that is not gonna help.

I thought about that but probably also not an ideal test because they work so differently. Thermacell make the mosquitoes uninterested in feeding but they will still be attracted to light from the zapper.

The only thing that really matters now is your soul. The church age of Grace is coming to an end and the next on the timeline is the 7 year tribulation period. You do not want to get left behind during these times because all hell will break loose. You can read Revelations 6 through 19, it talks about it. Christ died for our sins! Are you saved in the Lord Jesus Christ? Your good works doesn't pay for your bad works, you need a 'payment' for your sins and that is Jesus Christ. You cannot do it alone, Jesus Christ paid it all for you, the only thing you have to do is 'believe' in what He did for you on the cross at Calvary. Jesus Christ is the only cure for sin, so please believe in what He did, His death, burial and resurrection - found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, saves lost souls when you truly believe from your heart. Ephesians 1:13, saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, there is no other way. Please get saved now, time is running out, tomorrow is not promised. Remember, everyone is going to live forever, ........but where? Heaven (saved) or Hell (lost)? Choose your eternal destination wisely. Eph. 2:8-9 and Titus 3:5

I like the barrier of the thermo, however, do i have to keep it one place or can i move with it and still have that roaming barrier? Like can i place it some where on a baby stroller and go walking and it provides that same barrier of protection?
@GoingAwesomePlaces
@GoingAwesomePlaces Месяц назад
Ideally you keep it in place. The idea of this is that you want it to basically create a sphere of protection. When you move it, winds will carry it a certain way so you don't really get that full protection all around. It might give you some but it's hard to predict exactly how much.

While it's satisfying to kill mosquitoes and see them dead, there's an inexhaustible supply of them at most campsites. If the Thermocell stops them from biting you, then this is the way to go. It can be easily recharged from any of those portable cell phone battery chargers.

I could take a bath in 100% deet and still get eaten alive. Only thing that has ever worked are those propane mosquitoe traps or the thermacell personal repeller (the original version) they work great. Or they used to anyways.

I’m watching videos trying to choose something for my backyard which I like to be out in every night. I hate to say it but since you’re not a yummy snack for mesquites I’m more interested in your wife’s opinion (mesquites love me also). We really didn’t hear a report from her about the bug zapper. Did she get bit? If so, how many times vs what she usually is without any protection? Also, what were the instructions on the bug zapper? When they first came out decades ago they said to place them a little bit away from your area as they tend to attract bugs “to” them. Are the instructions still the same or does it say you now want it next to you to zap the bugs that are near you smelling their snack?

I wonder about the long term effects of the chemical released by the thermacell . It is almost like a machine that vapes if you think about it. But I would not vape anything! Anyway if it works it is better than the smell of DEET.

We had a plug in bug zapper when i was a kid in Southern Ontario. mosquitoes near the Great Lakes are insane. Every night it was LOADED with mosquitoes (contrary to the opinions of a few commenters below re: UV light). The problem is, I found out later that they are supposed to be placed AWAY from where YOU want to be as it will attract the insects. I am going to try the Thermocell this summer. I don't like the idea of buying cartridges repeatedly but all the reviews I have seen say that it works.
@fyrchmyrddin1937
@fyrchmyrddin1937 10 месяцев назад
The Thermacell does indeed work, and from my limited experience, works well - but the "consumables" are expensive, it's an insect repellant rather than killer, and the area covered isn't large. Their "backpacker" model uses standard camping fuel canisters so I'm planning to buy that soon. For UV, the commenters are pointing out that light is the *least* effective attractant for mosquitoes. Scent & CO2 are the effective attractants, because mosquitoes are (engineered to be) attracted to cattle, i.e. sweat, urine, & exhalation. This means that the most effective mosquito killers are those expensive, finicky propane-burning rigs that are somewhat like Catalytic converter. The person who figures out an effective way to make a portable camping rig of that nature will be a multi-billionaire.

The battery thermocell takes to long to charge. The gas thermocell that takes the stove canister is the best ( back packer) . Get the multi insect pads. Thermocell products work. Read the directions and pay attention to wind direction

Thermacell seems like a product that will get binned in short order. Are the cartridges going to be available forever? Nope. Will they come down in price? Nope. The battery life is too short, it needs an option for an AC adapter or easily replaceable batteries, and the expensive cartridge system seems like a printer ink scam.

One of the worst reviews ever and totally miss leading. A bug zapper that draws mosquitoes into your space is not going to stop them from biting you. It's only gonna kill a fraction of the amount that attracts the thermos cell on the other hand, clears, mosquitoes from the area to stop them from biting you. Oh, and that oval shape device doesn't have corners if you're going to do a review you, Gotto at least yet basic comments accurate . Here's what I would suggest Get two people spaced them 30 feet apart put one beside the bug zapper and one beside the thermos cell and have them keep track of how many bites they get
