A look at campsite 17 and Chair Rock Creek on Cranberry Lake and the Cranberry Lake 50 in the Adirondack Forest Preserve. In addition to the campsite, see the the garbage someone left in the fire ring.

Thanks for cleaning up our shared wilderness. Your videography and narration is peaceful, and appreciated. Cheers from an ADK expat….living in AK for 30 years. Still miss the forests of my youth .

You can tell a lot about people based on the trash they leave behind. I pick it up daily too in Schoharie County. People need to respect our natural beauty!

Beautiful! I just recently left the Adirondacks. You did a wonderful job filming. Noted that removing bark from trees is ultimately harmful to them. Thx for picking up garbage. I plan to become better doing the same.

Do you have to reserve or register for these sites or are they first come first serve ? Great video !

These sites are first come first served. There are regulation on party size and length of stay. www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/41282.html

There are lots of potential places. A great place to start looking is on the New York State DEC website in there places to go area and also use their Info Locator map, choose land based activities and parking areas and camps sites, then click the drop down menu for trails. The Adirondack Mountain Club has excellent detailed guide books. Wanakena is a good jumping off point for the Five Ponds or Cranberry Lake 50. A friend of mine is partial to Black River Wild Forest and Chubb Pond. Just outside the Adirondack Park, Wolf Lake State Forest has leantos on small lakes that usually aren’t occupied.

Removing birch bark correctly does not harm or kill the tree and can be done correctly if people would do research and do it correctly you don't cut down to the flesh of the tree that does kill the tree . Also when pooping bury your crap and t.p so tired of seeing this in the woods why people can't clean or do stuff correctly drives me nuts .

The many dead girdled birch trees around campsites indicate that people will not do so. There is no reason to use bark from a live tree to start a fire.
