Aiming for a commander vs commander vid tomorrow, hopefully in addition to the usual vid! Round 1 ▶ 70 Ultralisks vs 200 Stalkers Round 2 ▶ 150 Marines and 10 Battlecruisers vs 100 Hydralisks and 40 Mutalisks Round 3 ▶ 60 Siege Tanks vs 300 Banelings Round 4 ▶ 75 Void Rays vs 80 Tempest
3/4 DAMN those Stalkers came so, SO close. I believed so hard. Oh yeah. The mutas get chewed up instantly, and Marine/BC has crazy DPS and minimal overkill potential. 5 banes per tank? Oh yeah. They got it on lock. Always bet on Void.
If Banelings are 2/1 or more on anything, Banelings win. It's honestly kind of disappointing seeing the numbers every time - you already know what's going to happen. Also, not putting the Siege Tanks in Siege Mode is intentionally crippling them IMO.
First time in like 3 months I got 4/4. The only one I was iffy on was the ultra stalker, thinking ( okay, blinkers always do well in these, but that is so many ultras).
4/4 1.) Ultras usually win. 2.) I thought the BCs would be the difference maker because of their high armor. 3.) 300 Banelings seemed like a lot. 4.) I figured the Void Rays have better DPS and Tempests are usually long range siege weapons.
1. If u split up stalkers way more and are inhumanly good at micro, Stalkers would win every time. 2. I thought it wont be even that close as it was. Marines are just so good. 3. ANd not even let tanks to set up siege mode.... Like cmon. 4. Well... Tempest is pretty awful unit. It is good in specific situation, unlike void ray, which is just beastly.
4/4 baby! I am so glad I went with my gut and said Ultralisks. I was worried for a minute when I saw the Stalkers pull out in the first half, but Ultralisk armor carried through. It was no contest for BC/Marines. Free win for Banelings I knew this one would be close, as both fill the same role, but Void Ray sustain damage increases the longer they focus on a target, and Tempests are too squishy anyway.
Can you do a few that are kind of educational about early game openers? Like doing 4 lings vs 3 marines or 4 lings and a drone vs 3 marines or other common earlygame scenarios like queen vs banshee/oracle or lings at 0/0 and 1/0 vs roach to demonstrate how effective little edges are?
3/4 missed only the hydra-muta fight. I overestimated the mutas. I was going to give it to terran for sure on that fight until I saw the mutas, then I second guessed myself and got it wrong.
Funny, I saw just the Hydras and thought "oh, Hydras cost less, they're gonna win, that seems to be a theme" but then the Mutas spawned and I thought okay Terran wins for sure.
3/4 Really thought Stalkers would take it, but I guess the area attack was just too much. Zerg units in general seem rather fragile, especially when faced by mass Marines and BCs. Banes. Was there any question? Kinda same with Void v Tempest. Voids are simply better.
Also this video SHOULD NOT describe which unit is better. Obviously stalkers can outmicro an ultra so you should not just a move into a group of stalkers (that would be stupid). Same goes with Mutas
4/4 Ultras vs Stalkers - Ultras are just too big and tanky for the Stalkers to take down efficiently BCs and Marines vs Hydras and Mutas - Mutas die too quickly, and the BCs are too tanky for the Hydras after the marines are done Siege Tanks vs Banelings - Baneling Steam Roller. Void Rays vs Tempests - Void Rays just have too much DPS.
4/4 Stalker vs Ultra: I thought the ultras would win, as there were just so many of them, the stalkers can't blink forever. Plus Ultras deal splash damage. Marine+BC vs Hydra+Muta: easy, BCs have too much health, and neither hydras nor mutas are made to withstand damage. Tank vs Baneling: As always here, there are just too many banelings for the other side to deal with. Tempest vs Void: Voids of course, they do insane damage against armored, and tempest aren't meant to be a high damage dealer, they're meant to stay behind and chip away at enemies, they lose most straight up engagements.
Ayy first 4/4 since I started watching some weeks ago. 1) Was close but I didn't doubt the big boys 2) Wasn't sure right off the bat but once I heard the Yamato charging I went with Terrans 3) Banelings are usually a freebie 4) Was also close but I figured with being able to swap targets instantly vs. finishing an animation, Void Rays would win.
what is the third resource? i know about the minerals and vespern gas (probably butchered the spelling again) but what is the third that is being showed?
4/4 first try :) In the middle I thought that Stalkers were gonna win, but Ultralisks were overwhelming I never bet for Tempests especially with Void Ray's Prismatic Alignment.
3/4 + Ultras were going to surround and tank the micro. I figured at the end the stalkers blink would work against it. - I was not sure how this would go. All the mutas died first but the marines became autumn colors so I thought it might still be okay but the hydras didn't eliminate them quick enough. + I honestly thought they were going to siege so I was a bit pissed but it was just too much anyways. Idk if extra armour would've swung it their way. + We've seen void rays vs tempests enough to know how this plays out.
Apparently I'm absolutely rubbish at this. 1/4. But now I'm sitting here thinking how much Tya must be working on figuring out which matches will be the best nail-biters.
1. My gut says that blink micro is OP in these battles, but I think what'll happen is they'll blink back, clump up, and then stand still and get wrecked before they get their cooldown back. Ultras! Result: Close one, but ultras managed to clean it up. 2. Neither Hyrdas nor mutas are that good in a straight up braw. As long as the BCs tank for the marines, Terran wins. Result: BCs did not tank very well, but it didn't matter in the end! 3. Unstoppable banes vs immovable tanks. Tanks will attempt to siege and just get wrecked, banelings win. Result: They didn't siege, but it didn't matter. 4. I feel like the Tempest range could be good, but since Voids will just stack it won't matter that much. Voids win. Result: Not even close. 4/4, a good day!
Four for four: 1. Lisks are made for shredding infantry. Blink make it closer than expected, but still. 2. BC marine is just more tank and dps than Muta Hydra. No surprised here 3. Banes cause either the tanks need time to siege and get overwhelmed before they fire, or they fire their little regular cannon and get killed because banes do more damage quickly. Again, no surprises here. 4. Well tempests always suck for their resources if you do not use em to kite. So they will loooooooooooooose (because they always do).
These "in a vacuum" scenarios are fun to watch I guess, but it always bothers me how some units are completely underutilized. You pay for range, you pay for movespeed in the unit cost. It makes 0 sense to throw tempests into void rays, their range is part of their cost.
4/4 I think like everyone else I was really surprised how close stalker vs ultra was, like yes blink and range but it was less than a 3v1 odds, gotta give stalkers more credit. The others were easy, marines are beasts, mutas are a joke, voids always win and even though tanks always win too banes explode too fast so no surprises there either.
4\4 Very close and I was at the edge of my seat sometimes. +Ultras vs Stalkers. I am a Zerg fan and Ultras are both fast and tanky. They will survive... No they won't…Yes they will, no, they… Yes!!! +Marines\BCs vs Hydralisks\Muta. Well, that was going to be pretty one-sided. The zerg stood no chance. +Tanks vs Banelings. The see me rolling. They hating. There was enough banes to melt the 1\1 tech. +Voids vs Tempests.Voids take that round. As if there was any doubt :)
3/4 because I'm an idiot and thought stalkers would win. Seems the more stalkers there are, the less effective blink is because there's not enough places to blink to.
It will always siege but only start seige mode when the enemy is already in range of the bombardment. Which means... it will always siege too late. Just that usually it doesn't matter.
Wow. 4/4. 1) Ultras with all upgrades have too many armor 2) Terrans because Battlecruisers are OP 3) Banes cause nothing can stop acid wave 4) Rays. They have bonus DPS on Tempest
4/4 a very close call with the 1st one Stalkers don't really fair well against anything with strong armor as their poor dps just won't cut it, although the derpy ai movements from ultras made things favorable for them than it should've Cattlecruisers win it easy as hydras don't really hard counter them and mutas fair even worse. I'm surprised the hydras targeted the marines 1st tho Bc those tanks don't siege this time, they unfortunately don't deal well against banes in that mode, so banes also win the match easy Tempests mainly counter buildings and other capital ships, so their anti air capabilities against anything else pretty much suck :/
I remain surprised by how many people got the first one wrong. Like really? I mistakenly thought the zerg would win the bc/marine fight because I overestimated muta bounce and thought the hydras would tartget down the bc's with their superior range over the marines, but the mutas just flew into the dps of the entire terran army. That was a dumb mistake on my part lol.
