I have a male friend who is in Christ, and I am too. He's my Godfather and only 11 years older. We value our friendship and don't want to ruin that. We never crossed the line. We wouldn't make it any other way.
Yeah never be alone with opposite gender. That's good advice for sure. I love it when she said, "Oh hi! Nice to meet you. You are probably not my husband. You are probably someone else's husband." Such a powerful mindset
Gosh how did I get here? They make such a big deal out of all this. It is crazy! Take it down a notch. Yes they can be friends as they feel appropriate in a community setting meaning there are other people in their lives. If they are your only source of intimacy there is a big problem!
To the last lady who spoke. I understand where she is coming from of not thinking every girl I meet could be My wife. But at the same time I'm not going to think that every single girl I meet might not be my wife either. Because if I think that with every girl I meet no Girl ever would be my wife.
Christopher Oh So true. Definitely a tricky, but I believe it can be done. I have a really good friend now who I've made this very mistake with, and when I realized it then I simply changed the dynamics of it and that was that. She understood as well why I did that. I definitely learned my lesson in that case, and still remain really good friends with this female without attraction being involved. It's so easy to fall into this trap for sure though.
As a guy who's a Christian with high function end of autism, I truly get that we're brothers and sisters of Christ. However that's something that is overbearing and overused, for those who really desire to be in a relationship/marriage. Just being friends doesn't work with someone you really like more than a friend, speaking from experience it's emotionally, physically, spiritually draining no matter how much you love Christ. This is the reality world we live in and what god made it to be, so no, being brothers & sisters of Christ can only go so far.
