2:10 Thinking of tracking with the wingman instead of flicking was the biggest jump for me. When I started to think about tracking my target always, I hit way more shots with the wingman. And it's something I have to remind myself of. When I start missing a lot I have to remind myself to get into a tracking mindset. Really good tip

The secret to good aim is using the weapon so much that you can predict where the bullet is going. This game is projectile based so even perfect tracking can miss. We see this all the time when shooting people out of the air or going up balloons.

This makes SO MUCH sense. I went into the firing range to practice where I put my focus and the shots wouldn't stop hitting. I've been at it for 3 hours now and the ends of my mouth have started twitching upwards. I'm concerned and will contact my doctor immediately.

I play Apex typically once or twice a season. Last time, a few weeks ago, I played again and started getting pretty good with the Wingman, like hitting 80%-90% of my shots. I didn't know why exactly until watching this video today. One of the main things to take away is to really predict the movement and conserve your shots. Make sure that your line of sight matches the enemy before you shoot your next shot it at least predict it. You have to remind yourself that you got 6-9 bullets and you only need 2-5 bullets to kill.

The first tip about tracking the enemy actually improved my aim alot!! Thank you

tbh this video really inspiring. i just got to diamond lobby as a solo player and this actually might help me get to master. it really change my prospective on how to aim. i experience alot of time where i just miss all of my shot because im too focus on my crosshair instead of the enemy

Hey just want to say Thank You for this video, I always struggled with the wingman as well, it was such a strange weapon for me, the aim seems right but the shots just don't connect, I always ignored this weapon because I've never guaranteed myself with it.. until now. Now every game I search for it and i'm doing really good to be honest, it's so satisfying. I think the most precious advice I got from this video was to stay cold blooded while fighting and don't spam those shots. Thanks for this inspiring video, and thanks Hollow for teaching us

Very good vid. 👍 it's unbelievable, I was actually very good with the wingman when I just started playing Apex. Became bad overtime because I had a cpl of bad experiences, without realizing I was tired at that time, but it stucked in my mind I suck. IMO confidence is the key to Apex games in general. Wingman has a timing to it.

WOW. I learned a SHIT ton. Even as a controller player (which im currently working on my wingman aim) almost ALL of these tips are so so so helpful. Im excited to pick up the weapon in my games and practice more :)

I just came back after two years and always wanted to learn the wingman, so I threw myself into arenas and only let myself use the wingman; and it's crazy how much of this I picked up on. I don't focus on the reticle anymore and I started tracking and now I'm much better - not amazing but better. I also learned to slow down if I miss too many shots; I just take a deep breath and focus. I got a lot of work ahead of me (such as sensitivity alone) but it feels amazing actually being competent with it. It's the movement I need to focus on now...

Another point I wanna make is that when shooting, take a moment to analyze your opponent's pattern, It helps so much with predicting obvious patterns by getting 1-2 shots in. Trust me, once you shoot, every enemy in this game have their own footwork. The more you do that, the faster you predict their pattern and eventually you can see patterns as if you have clairvoyance. Just my 2 cents

It honestly takes some time to learn how much you need to lead with the wingman. Based off others ping and internet it can be different for some. I know I've been practicing more and more on controller snapping and leading still wingman in a league of its own.

For me I have struggled in apex a bit as someone who became very competent on m&k in hit scan games like csgo and valorant. This is due to the fact that in a hitscan game with smaller maps and much different ttk (especially because these games are all about that one headshot that instantly ends your opponent) you learn the fundamentals such as centering, cross hair placement, micro adjustments, flicks, strafe aiming, I'm a way that doesn't fully apply to a game like apex. In apex you have to account for velocity and distance, different hit boxes, and a ttk that relies more on sustain, consistent damage over a much longer period of time. I think players like me struggle to marry what we have learned in other games to apex in some of these areas. I wingman spam sometimes because I feel like I need to pump dps to compensate for the fact that the game doesn't have that one or two shot potential in the same way the aforementioned titles do. And yes I know the wingman along with weapons like the mastiff and pk are burst weapons but as was shown in this video spam rarely has a happy ending. Couple this with the fact that targets move way faster and way differently in apex its a bit of an adjustment for a cs/Val player. It's a tracking game whereas the other two are flicking games by nature. If there is any piece I'd advice someone who reads this takes away it is to practice tracking alot in aim labs or something of the sort, and most importantly SLOW DOWN THE SHOTS. I noticed I needed to do this early on and applying this principle rapidly improved my pk and wingman game. You really gotta train your brain to only squeeze of that shot once it recognizes its on target.

Dot on tape on center of monitor or built in monitor crosshair or crosshair overlay, having a static crosshair is amazing. Just having an idea of where the center of your screen is can be good enough for bodyshots but not for consistent headshots

This was a such a great video. Kandy, you asked great questions and I appreciated the way Hollow was able to explain so clearly. Honest question, would it be harder to use the Wingman on 200ping and above or would ping make no difference to the tips given?

I started playing apex again two weeks ago and totally fell in love with the wingman Im spamming this gun as much as possible so i get good with it

from a wingman lover (not of timmy or ace's level but I play with it regularly with a good degree of success) the tip about it being a tracking weapon is HUGE

This is actually really good! I've always used the Wingman as of late like the deagle/357 in COD MW19, which is aim in, take a shot, leave ADS and then re-ADS for the next shot, rinse repeat. But with these tips, I can see now that taking a wingman and dueling someone is more of a commitment than just dealing random burst damage. It makes sense, the wingman is actually more of an oppressive weapon imo than most others, the feeling of being focused down and getting bopped 45/86 adds more pressure than getting fried by an SMG or AR in the mid ranges. Then again, playing other games and not focusing on Apex leads to some bad habits formed from other games like COD. So thanks Soar_Hollow for the tips and Kandy for showing us how the big boys get it done. That being said, we're probably going to be seeing a lot of wingman guys out there in the games!

the eyeball thing works tremendously, my aim is pretty bad and i dont use the wingman, but there was this time when i was playing with my friend and i was pretty pumped i dont know why and my wingman aim was nutty, i usually have 200-400dmg games but i had like 600-800 damage almost purely wingman and i definitely improved my aim because of that tip

in apex the "breathing" makes the center of your screen go slightly up and down and it really shows when you use a sniper the reason it is so noticeable on the wingman is bc there is no stock for it. that might be wrong but im pretty sure its right

Now I kinda want to talk to Hollow, great stuff here.

simple. do what the pros do. go to the firing range. get the reticle on-screen. then put a small piece of tape onto your monitor over the reticle. now you'll always have a centered reticle, no matter what gun, no matter what sights or irons or hipfires. headshots +60%.
