So you're telling me that all Chelsea need to do to break our No 9 curse is wait for the second coming of Shearer? Anyone know if Todd Boehly and Clearlake invest in jurassic park level cloning tech? 😅
Shearer is one of the players that made me become glued to the TV watching the good old Premier League! Still is my favourite PL striker, such an unique powerful player. With today's game being more open than ever and playing higher lines, I don't doubt a prime Alan Shearer would shred his own record!
Really glad you chose to do my suggestion for this video, and it didn’t disappoint…. Another idea could be recreate the class of 92, see if the likes of Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, butt and the Neville’s do in a class of 23?
Shearer never had a team of completely world class talent around him, I know it is a cliché but he would score 50 plus a season in the current man City side, assuming pep starts him of course.
I don't think this was noticed in the summary by Luke at the end... but in his final season, Shearer won a second Champion's league with Manchester United!!! They won it back to back!!! And also another FA cup! That's like 8 champion's leagues!!
Could you and your dad do a rebuild with Newcastle and Tottenham on retro database 99 as a think they was a similar team that season would be good to see
Actually he switched teams mid season. So 12 and 13 games for Chelsea and United was in the same season. Means they brought Shearer in January to win PL and CL, nice
Now, that dumbass "Retired" screen is the reason you should always put a tick on "Keep history after retirement" for players you want to follow. It keeps their history as in the screens you see while they are still active, where you can see also the cup and European games. Just a tip.
It’s actually quite accurate because even in real life Shearer didn’t start in the premier league either. He had 18 months in division 1 before the Premierships conception. He also missed 18 months of premiership football through injury. Scary to think that he still hit 260 playing for relatively poor teams & missing so much football. I think had he signed for Man Utd instead of Blackburn or Newcastle and stayed injury free - the actual figure would have been WELL over 500 and probably closer to 1000.
Agreed. Haaland most likely won't stay at Man City long enough to break it. But if you think Haaland wouldn't be able to break even if he stays there for the rest of his career and doesn't get injured, then idk what you're smoking. A healthy Haaland will keep scoring a lot of goals for a good time. He has 100 top 5 league goals in roughly 100 games lol
