Appreciate your time to make and post this video Frankie. My 1000 has been showing signs of leakage and I've been putting it off. Now, with your helpful tips, cold beer and some tiny distracting dancers, I will make this repair happen. Thanks.
Thanks for the video, I did mine last year and 1 year later it started leaking again. I discovered that the bolt became loose. Dealer advise me , in addition of changing the seal and the ring , I should change the washer and use red loctite on the bolt.
With all the conditions we ride in. Something is always bound to happen. Maintenance is a huge part our sport. I couldn't afford to visit a mechanic every time something went wrong and the down time the machine would sit in the shop. Especially for me that I have 2 machines to take care of. Thanks for dropping in Wildcat.
Very helpful video. Mine is just starting to leak now. I will be taking the diff out to replace when the time comes. I love my Can-Am but I think the Engineers really failed on behalf of the people who buy them. Can-Am must of told the Engineers to make these as complicated as they possibly could to work on. There is just no room for anything. I had a 2012 Brute Force 750 before this and it was a breeze to work on.
Turn the driveshaft in the machine so you can get a box end wrench on it. Turn the key on, put machine in 4 wheel drive, the driveshaft won't turn when you try to loosen the bolt!
Did you notice the girls were also wearing can am colors. Black and Yellow buddy. lol.. Then I threw in the red one just because I couldn't resist her.
Frankie's Channel Thx u Frankie how can i contact you I would like to send a pic of where my oil leak is coming from ....i don’t know names of parts so i really can’t even explain to you
Yes it's a pinion seal. You should also change the wear ring too. New seal may not seal if the wear ring is worn. 90% of the time the wear ring is worn.
Nice job, good tips. I did one once on something without removing it but I don't remember what though because I'm old. But I do remember it wasn't easy. I can see how it would be a lot easier though when you have those "little dancing women" to get in there to loosen those tight nuts 💃👍😀
Hahahaha.. Your too funny!! Good one. It's always hard to tell what your thinking when your head is always in a helmet. But the truth is finally starting to come out. Your a dirty little devil. lol...
Well I can tell ya you're not going to like when the engine side goes. Bahaha Man they're in there good stubborn bastards eh. Much easier to work on if you stand the machine upright though. I would just remove the diff too. Thx Frankie good to know if I ever switch to the dark side of the force.
Standing the machine upright is a great idea. I didn't think about it. I have the hoist so I can usually work at a comfortable height. It's funny I was thinking the same thing when I was studying how to take the seal out and my eyes wandered over to the engine side. The engine side looks like a real bitch to do.
