Picked up a 2019 Can-Am Commander Max at an insurance auction. It was totaled due to an engine fire, but it wasn't clear what started the fire. I fixed/replaced all the burnt wires, melted plastic and broke sensors and it ran fine, but it would over heat after 15m or so. I could never get the coolant burped entirely but a pressure test said the coolant lines were fine. I started just using water in the coolant lines as it was just burping out and then I finally found the dreaded milky oil. Time to tear down the engine from the top and see if its a head gasket or cylinder. I chose to do this inside the chassis as the cylinders are sleeves and you can expose the entire cylinder shaft and top end without taking the engine out.
The video also gives a quick explanation on how to setup timing from scratch based on the flywheel/crankshaft.
