One point of improvement for you...clean all that dirt out from around the pistons b4 you push 'em back...jamming all that junk into the bore will cause them to seize up eventually...otherwise...nicely done!

Yeah it wasn't exactly fun but couldn't pressure wash it because water was off for the season.

When you tighten those lug nutz! Tighten til snug ! . And if the nut/bolt is lined and the wrench 🔧 handle is at 12 o'clock---->🕛 torque numbers is.. never pass the 3 pm🕒

Graet job buddy, I would clean the brake calipers pistons before squeeze them back to the caliper.

Yeah, not a bad idea. I tried brushing them off a bit, they were actually a lot worse if you can believe that. This mud was just cemented on and I just wanted to get it done with haha.

Ah crap, I don’t have this wheeler anymore so I’m not 100%, but they were the ITP mega mayhems I believe the size was 28x11-12 in the rear and 28x9-12 in the front.

Hey man great video. I have the same situation with my back brake, it wore out the pad's metal on metal. And you didn't have to replace the roader? Did it ride just fine? I'm just wondering because I don't want to replace the disk if I don't have to.

It really depends how damaged the rotor is. Mine was good enough where I could run it again, but it all depends how long you operated it with the pads metal on metal. If there’s and cracks or heavy scoring in the rotor, it should probably be replaced.

@@TonyTheTruckGuy The rotor looked fine so I only did the brake pads And thanks again for the video it made my 1st time doing breaks a snap 👍 I wish I could send you a picture of the old brake pads there was no brake pad material left...

How to bleed them? My front breaks won't bleed. Even with the vacuum on it?

Make sure brake fluid is full, then have someone pull the brake lever while you open the caliper bleeder. Close bleeder, then release brake lever. Repeat until all air bubbles are out of the caliper.

You don't believe in anti seize or blue locktite? That caliber bracket bolt looks ready to seat itself permanently. I'm not being that guy, it was just an observation. You know more about it than I do. I do wrenching, but not as much as you. I'm curious if you think it would help, or doesn't matter. Good vid, Cheers.

Haha well unfortunately I didn’t have either of those with me even if I did want to use them. Since the caliper bolt was fairly tight as you mentioned, I wouldn’t have probably used loctite anyways. If it was a car I probably would, but this thing sees enough mud and water that rust acts as a natural loctite 😂 I do support using both products, just depends on if I have them on hand and what application I’m dealing with.

Does the 2014 can-ams only have 3 brake Pairs of brake pads?

Depends which model you have. Renegades I believe have 4 but outlander is 3

@@TonyTheTruckGuy you are a life saver, thought i just bought an outty with no rear brakes cause it was missing a caliper. But they are only supposed to have 3?

@@Gavyn307 Haha, yeah, as far as I’m aware. Kinda odd because the outlander is heavier, so you’d think they would want 4 calipers, but I guess the Renegade is their more performance and race oriented quad, so it does kind of make sense.

How do the brakes work on the can am is it one lever all brakes?

The Outlander has a foot brake pedal which controls just the rear brakes, then it also had the lever on the left handlebar which is all 4 brakes. The Renegade has another lever on the right handlebar for just the front brakes in addition to the foot brake and the left handlebar lever.

Dang it. Typical 😂 The XMR pad link still works if you’re interested in those. That’s what I put on mine. Supposed to hold up a little better in mud. Otherwise I’ll try to find a new link here for the normal pads to replace the broken link

@@mattwilliams4220 🤣 I never had to change mine so I can’t make any recommendations unfortunately. Not finding anything on Amazon so may have to use the dealer or find an aftermarket company that sells upgraded ones
