Thank you for the comprehensive video..just changed my 2016 Spyder RT headlight and foglights..everything you showed was spot on! And yes, whomever put the air intake behind that foglight access panel should be flogged😂..Thanks again!
Great video. I went with the the 360 LED Headlights for Spyder RT from Tricled along with the fog lights. I didn't want to cut the housing to relocate the driver box. Yes that left fog light is a bear to get to. Now I know why no one else shows a video on how to change it. Keep up the good work! Thanks!
I just installed the LED headlights and fog lights yesterday from Slingmods. For the left foglight it took me longer than replacing all the other 3 bulbs combined. LOL. Getting that dust cover back on with the air intake so close was quite the feat. The engineers are plainly not mechanics and don't realize how hard they make stuff to replace.
Dennis Irvin The instructional videos that bother me the most are the ones that are all puppy’s and rainbows, then I try doing the same thing and end up with bloody knuckles, sledge hammers and a torch. My goal is to make clear, concise, and thorough vids. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching. Ride safe
@@ItsYoursOWNIT Yes. Thank you for that. It's always Murphy's law when it comes to me working on my own stuff. Just got back last night from a weekend of riding. I noticed that I have a headlight out so I need to go in and change them. This helps me a lot as I want to learn to do more myself. My only problem is the previous owner put a full set of baker wings on and I have to figure out how to remove them with the panels.
Dennis Irvin I just searched and found this video, it might give you a good idea on how they are installed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1KqfLbB3cs8.html
I just installed the LED fog light conversion on my 2015 RT limited and found out quickly it’s not as simple as shown on video. I cussed a lot during this project….lol…but managed to get it done with quite the sense of accomplishment.
I love them. I don’t “choose” to drive at night but have had to a couple of times since getting these installed and they are much better than OEM bulb.
I own a RT and there are just "dummy" lenses where the fog ight are installed. (Neither are fitted to high and or low beam assemblies) so was hoping to get some clues.. BTW Excellent video regards removing and installing panels.
Vinny Ozorio, I think I read somewhere that it is possible to put fog lights in a standard RT but it would be really expensive. Go to cheapcycleparts.com and pick the “limited” version of your Spyder and you can find the parts diagram. I don’t know if the wiring harness for the fog lights is on yours or not either. Another option is to install aftermarket lights to the top A arm.
@@ItsYoursOWNIT Thank you.. Looks like a strip to find out if "any" wiring is installed. (has extra wiring for temp and fuel gauges lthough they are already on the digital display. Bugger to read in bright sunlight.)
Vinny Ozorio, you can get to the wiring harness by just removing the black access panels right under the frunk lid. If they are in the harness they will be right with the connectors for the ambient temp and the intake temp sensors. My video on removing the frunk will show you what I am talking about.
appreciate the video...just ordered Lamonsters after changing left front headlight with a cheapo halogen -tried to find cheaper LEDs but was a lil worried for various reasons--I have Lamonsters on the other spyder that they put in...how is your adjustment? did you have to go back to rotate the adjustment of the beam pattern? PS I'd love to share my photos of the full size mouse I found in my left headlight cavity!! He was so camouflaged I didn't notice but the wet dry nozzle said hey this thang is too big to suck.
I honestly can’t see any problem with the beam pattern. I try not to ride at night but have had to a couple times since putting these in. They are much brighter than OEM.
mike sutton I ordered the Eagle on the front from eBay, search for “eagle flag vinyl”. The reflective flag and eagle on the side I ordered from westonink.com
OK, after watching the video again, I went out and replaced the headlights. Now I need to pick your brain again. Seems as if the previous owner already had LED's in there from Lamomster. I chose to go with the TRICLED lights. Any way, I got the lights installed hooked them up to check them out and everything works until I turn on the brights. Then nothing. Told you I have Murphy's law syndrome. Nothing ever goes right. Any ideas? I'll have to get ahold of slingmods and see if they can tell me anything as well. Then I have to find my T30 bit that seems to have gone missing and figure out how to get the headlight adjuster cable routed back to where it needs to be. Thanks for your videos and any help.
When you put on the brights do you hear a loud click? There is a shutter in the headlight assembly that is opened by a solenoid. The little circuit board with the plugs inside the housing is what runs it. You might check to see if there is a fuse for the brights before you pull it back apart to make sure everything is in place and plugged in.
@@ItsYoursOWNIT Yes. Low beams work fine. High beams I got nothing unless they have to be all the way back in the housing for them to work. Like I said the shutter is working so maybe I need to have them back in place?
My understanding of these is that the bulb has one “element” and when you put on the brights, the shutter opens and allows the light to shine farther. So if the brights don’t work you still have dims.
Sorry, I try to explain what I am doing. I have had this Spyder apart so much that I don’t talk about every step but I do show every step which many do not do. I will try harder in the future. Thanks for watching. 👍
