@@virael3801 Uncle Maliketh may be a big boi but he's still a good boi. Still, the idea of Malenia someday maybe taking his place and taking on the black armor seems extremely cool.
Morgott's fighting is really good and eye-catching, it's really like a real duel of two swordsmen, both trying to destroy each other as well as dodge attacks very intelligently, only unfortunately Malenia ended it a bit early. But Morgott surpassed my expectations by a lot
I kinda actually do. It only happens in the Haligtree map and I think it's caused by a broken cloth physics script. Still what causes it to be broken I still don't know, one day I teleported there and they were all doing that out of the blue lmao
Okay, that Rennala fight was hilarious. First, Malenia desperately attacks Rennala's moon unaware that she has i-frames while in it, and then proceeds to be hit by both the moon and several magic homing missiles. Then expertly dodges Comet Azur, only to dodge back into it and get stance-broken. Then after taking a spinning stick to the face, she waterfowls and wins the fight, but Rennala in her final moments summoned a giant to flatten her 1 last time. 10/10 would watch again
The fact these are NG+7 bosses vs a Regular NG stats boss and she still beat 95% of them with a single health bar, and even beat the true holder of Destined death is pretty insane.😂
@@tuvampirofavorito1275 yeah there's a cut version which is more like the graceful steps and bladework of a dancer on water and is the REAL Waterfowl Dance while the move we got was actually called Malenia's Blade. It has been re-added for this video and also came out in the Dragonlord and Radagon fights.
"It is impressive that thou hast conquered thy Scarlet Rot with Destined Death, Malenia. However, it still shall not save thee from *these hands."* - Godfrey Loux
I like how Gideon yelled 'I NEED HELP' at the start of the fight. Whereas he usually starts out cocky and only panics once he's already well into the fight, this time he took one look at Malenia and immediately knew he was looking death in the eye 💀 His hunch was definitely not wrong.
Gideon's iconic "I need help" will never stop to be funny for me. This time he was so scared seeing Malenia he immediately screamed it. He did get destroyed though lol
@@clorkmagnus it's the power of Maliketh, because he defeated the godskins that they lost destined death. Also Godwin died from the black assassins that have destined death, because Ranni stole it from Maliketh
@@Grizz_129 Marika gave it to him once he killed the queen. It was in Marika possession and she used it to stop the other Demi gods from dying. It’s in the lore. The point is, the gods have different power, and Maliketh used dd which is a power not from him originally. Maliketh needs to give Malenia dd not teaching her, becaus he can’t. It’s not a technique. Who used dd in the lore, you, the player, random nameless assassins, Maliketh, Marika, the Empyrean queen.
Nah, you're right. He was doing good. Granted the RNG made it a bit in his favor since there were so little Waterfowl's, but he got her down to really low health
Very cool Morgot fight. And Malenia actually looked much more mortal in many of these. So many interesting possibilities: One Boss has Lifesteal, the other has Destined Death.
3 Things: 1. I was going to watch another video and I saw the notification for this and I was I need to watch this now. No joke. 2. Yeah that is a terrifying sight, but I would still love the challenge of beating her with that new ability. 3. I know this was out of your control but it would have been beyond awesome if her waterfowl dance had the destined death red and black flames on each sword strike too. But anyways amazing video as always and great idea for a mix up!
I love Sir Gideon Ofnir the All Help-needing. A funny video idea (or video series idea) would be "how much help does Gideon need with [X]?", throwing him at each major boss and adding extra Gideons until he actually wins the fight. The idea of dozens of Gideon fighting Malenia is kinda funny to me.
I don’t think you know what you are saying you’re asking Malania to have Destined death, life steel, Scarlet rot, and a entire second phase, AND WATER FOWL DANCE!💀
Someone beat a super modified version of Malenia which is probably much harder than just giving her destined death. In that version she has extra move sets and move much faster and way more aggressive.
Actually, you ow, having watched the video fully, I think I'd actually prefer fighting this Malenia. No healing on hit and no second phase makes me a happy reptile. Also I love that Astel continues to just throw my expectations in a blender and pulse.
In the crimson flame of Destined Death, Phase 1 Mortal Malenia looks menacingly intimidating; Phase 2 Goddess of Death Malenia would be ominously terrifying.
What the hell is that sick attack at 6:52? It's like an infinitely more fair version of the Waterfowl and I've never, never seen it used before! I know Malenia combo strings very differently if she isn't interrupted, but this is the first time i've seen that.
Back in the earliest version of the game, Malenia had both types of Waterfowl I believe. I think it's not necessarily more fair than the current Waterfowl, but it is easier to deal with. The current Waterfowl looks overwhelming and is very punishing if you get it wrong, but it's telegraphed, learnable and she consistently does it for the first time at 60% health or so. So you can trigger the skill reliably and practice dodging the three phases at various distances, after which you'll know how to respond to it during regular combat afterwards. Oh, and proccing a status during the windup, like throwing a frost pot, just cancels the attack as well. The move I probably find the most unfair with Malenia is the Phantom Spirits in the second phase. It can trigger at any time and unless you're far away, I personally find it pretty much impossible to read when and which way to dodge with everything going on with the clones.
She won most of the fights while being nerfed to the teeth. No second phase, no heal on hit, NG scaling while other bosses are NG+7, her DD not as strong as Maliketh’s. She really is the ultimate boss.
@@cesaraugusto.9920 He'd still get wrecked by all endgame bosses, he still has awful poise and his phase transition leaves him vulnerable for too long.
He would still lose, Malenia doesn't win because of life steal, she wins because she deals high damage. Increase Morgott's damage to match Malenia's damage (no life steal) and then he would win against more bosses.
This was awesome to see, keeping her health drain would've been overkill. Godfrey with Destined Death Vs Health Drain Malenia would be a cool fight to see. or maybe every boss with added health drain vs Malenia. Astel was the only boss on this list do defeat Destined Death Malenia without using a single fire attack!
Interesting the Elden Beast pulls out all its range moves and is highly mobile. Usually on this channel, including against the frenzied trio just days ago, beast goes into "moron samurai" mode sitting there doing sword swings only and barely moving.
I had a feeling she'd be significantly less dangerous without her lifesteal. The destined death buff is a good alternative, honestly. But if she had neither she'd be a pushover and I'm pretty sure that's why they gave her that ability.
It was so good to see Malenia without the ridiculous regen health per hit cheat and the godforsaken 2nd phase big flower nuke thing-a-mih-jig including full health. Even though they were substituted with Destined Death it made the matches much fairer. Had a feeling Maliketh could have taken her. He's so damn fast and ferocious.
The fight between Malenia and her father felt like he can beat her in 5 hits with a big sword while she even really had a chance by using all her techniques.
Was there a reaon Astel suddenly gained back almost 25% of his health just as he was about to die? I mean he was 2 blows away from death and actively burning and *poof* his health bar jumped 2 or 3 times after the teleport.
It's destined death effect run out, it reduce the health bar maximum HP, the boss shouldn't refill some of their health like that but DD just work weirdly on these kind of thing
@@amirferdhany3177 "Just don't get hit" - John EldenRing Honestly though for me her healing didn't matter too much, my health was at a point where 1-3 hits killed me so she didn't regen much before I had to restart anyway though I beat her (mostly using black knife and the tiche? was her name? as my summon because I was doing a role play thing as black knife assassins by first playthrough.) My second play through though I had much more health and was experimenting with other builds and the healing did get a bit annoying when I was clipped by water fowl.
This honestly makes you think: what if Malenia was born without the Rot and its influence? This probably means that she would never have been tutored by the blind swordsman who had previously fought the Rot god and sealed it away, and who better to tutor Malenia than her uncle: Maliketh? Imagine Malenia not with unalloyed gold armor, but black armor and cloak like Maliketh, even faster and more acrobatic, her blade wreathed in red flame as she leaves a sea of corpses in her wake.
i think it was radagon who would have been his fencing master, already he was very close to Miquella, he was also certainly close to malenia. so we would have had a malenia with golden armor, erdtree incantations and a great affinity with morgott certainly
@@neofalz7643 That's a good point! Malenia with incantations and swordsmanship would be interesting to see too. Maybe after some time later she could have become Maliketh's successor (looking at his white hair I do wonder if maybe Shadow Beasts do age even if slowly)
@@MrEvan312I think Maliketh does age, but he won't die from it. The beastmen of Farum Azula also seem old and grey, but they're thousands if not millions of years old. Hell since Farum Azula transcends space and time, they might be infinitely old. And Maliketh is no normal beastman. He is half God too. And he never seemed like a normal beastman to begin with. There's illustrations of him and Marika as children. There's one with Marika as a little girl surrounded by three wolves with one on her lap. And there's one with her and three wolves where she extends her hand with only one of the wolves touching it with his nose. It's very easy to surmise that that wolf in both cases was Maliketh. He's not actually a shadow in the same sense as Blaidd for example. He precedes the Two Fingers that make them. He was around long before the Greater Will began meddling with the Lands Between. So he's completely unique, and we therefore can't know what exactly he is. All we have to go off is his appearance and the fact that there were two other wolves with him on those illustrations. And they can't have been Blaidd or any other shadow since those same illustrations show Marika as a child, and Marika as a child hadn't been chosen as an Empyrean herself yet, much less split into Radagon and had Ranni with Rennala. I really hope the DLCs do something with those other shadows. They're half Gods. Imagine meeting Marika and Maliketh's two siblings.
@@virael3801 Perhaps, but given that her potential existed nonetheless I imagine it'd be fostered in some way. Maybe instead by Radagon personally but Malenia the Black Blade idea strikes me as super cool too.
Hey Bjorn, I have a mod idea. How about you make the Elden Prime mod. All of the prime or altered bosses could be added into one mod pack. If you advertise it as the NG+ we needed it could attract more attention to your fantastic work
Let's call her maleniketh! Nice video idea but I don't think it worked too well. The reason I'm saying this is because malenia isn't doing much extra damage with this ability. It's like she's unable to stack it the same way maliketh does which is why you see health bars disappear when he hits you multiple times with it. The bosses being NG+7 could be the problem. Would like to see maliketh face some NG+7 main bosses to see if it's the same for him. Because maliketh makes your health bar move like running water lol
I think it would've been cool to see Dark Malenia versus the 2 phases of normal Malenia. I get that there might be technical problems for that, though.
@@kaiserdetectivegolden2735 I hate how they nerfed our boy. I played Radahn on day two of launch and he is so hard-coded into my brain as this amazingly powerful boss. Every swing was terrifying. Those meteors he summons made me shit myself. But fighting him again recently, I realized he's a shell of that boss. He's got the Maliketh syndrome now. 80% Of his attacks miss you when you just hug his legs, and just like Maliketh, he's too fucking slow to do anything about it. Meanwhile you're hacking away at him, ripping his healthbar apart in seconds.
@@TheStraightestWhitest he will never miss a chance to blow you once appeared he (and Maliketh) were the opposite to the other bosses who wait you to react which is lore accurate giving their feats he immediately swing after his previous attack making it a nightmare planning how to avoid getting smashed by him back then he wouldn't use his "mad dive" into you when you are close like a fool giving you opportunity to obliterate him like now back then he was able to hit you when you try to get below or beneath him now ? he can't even land a single attack on you the niggas here thought big boss having big hitbox is madness so it must be alternated or they will cry and refund "a damn four meteors crushing your casual ass because you don't know how to dodge them and deal huge damage ?!"
