I worked 39 years in a sheet metal production factory there’s nothing personal in production work once a job is setup anyone could produce it in masses but when they needed something special that when it all changed without that personal craftsmanship production shut down I am with you a 100% there’s no mass production that can reproduce what you do mass production can make a thousand exactly alike I’ve been woodworking since the mid 60’s an every thing I have made has personal touches I see like mistakes that no one sees but that gives it personality think about how difficult it is to make just 2 things by hand exactly the same they look really close but the maker can see little differences Really Great Video Sorry for the long comment but this is something that really needs to be said an you hit the nail on the head

Thanks Jerry, as always your support and feedback is very much appreciated. It's something I think we are all very passionate about and I see a tidal wave of mass production taking over crafts. It also seems that many are becoming less discerning when it comes to identifying the difference between artisan work and mass production. It is a big concern for the future of what we do here at our family workshop and the greatest challenge we face today. @@DailovespoonsThomas I have heirlooms that family, friends an neighbors made before my time that means a lot to me because they were homemade if they were mass produced they probably would have done been cast away there’s just something about hand crafted that means a lot to some folks

i am an artisan and yes I can't get paid enough for my work...people can buy similar..of lower quality no doubt but cheaper from china.....it is so sad many choose cost over quality...and originality ....but I won't give up

We're constantly trying to adapt and cater for what customers want. It can be tough at times, especially at this time where money is tight for many.
