So good! One of my husband's old best friends was INSISTENT that he basically force me into taking the pill after we got married. Why HE was so concerned about whether or not WE had kids I have no idea. But, my husband told him there was no way he was going to make me put fake hormones in my body. We weren't aware at the time that it was abortive but we knew messing with my cycle was never a good idea. We used condoms and only got pregnant when intended. Two kids later we've decided to go the fertility awareness route. The thought of harming any of my babies not matter how small is heartbreaking!

I am so so glad that I never took the pill. I was really excited to get my period when I was a tween and I couldn’t understand why girls would want to make their reproductive systems not function properly. The older that I got, and the more horror stories I heard about the pill from friends, only reassured me of my decision. I was NEVER taught this third method of the pill in school, or anywhere. Most women have absolutely no clue that it’s somewhat common for conception to happen whilst on the pill. They just think that it prevents it completely.

Pastor Joel, I would love it if you would address the forced delayed adolescence in our society. It seems so many Christians have bought into the idea that a person has to be a child until they're 25. I feel like this is causing major societal issues and unnecessary temptation for people who should be totally capable of handling a marriage and instead end up turning to p orn or for nication instead of marriage. The concept of a teenager is a fairly modern concept and it seems so destructive. We've decided our sons will be referred to as young men in their teens and we hope they'll be responsible and capable of being married by 18. Just like generations past. We're clearly biological designed to be having children in our late teens and early 20's. Not waiting until our 30's to even think about starting.

I won't go into my history of using non barrier contraception, but it's safe to say that my husband lost the woman he got engaged to when I decided to get the IUD for multiple reasons, and the woman he got back after we had it removed has been altered by trauma caused by non-barrier contraception. After coming off birth control completely I had two back-to-back miscarriages. Those miscarriages led to us doing extensive research on birth control, and we were horrified by what we found. Not only that birth control was primarily created and funded by Planned Parenthood, but everything down to how it depletes the body of essential nutrients to how it rewires the brain to not be attracted to your spouse, and a lot of other spiritual things in between. I did ovulation tracking and that's how we were able to get pregnant first try with a baby I miscarried last summer and the baby I am due to give birth to in 3 weeks. Because I have a previous ectopic pregnancy in addition to my daughter being born via C-section my body can't handle pregnancies anymore. So this past February my husband got the snip. I have it in my birth plan that if I end up needing a C-section due to emergency reasons then they can remove my tubes as well. On my end it's a precautionary measure against ovarian cancer as that's what my paternal grandmother died from. My husband and I are adamantly against hormonal contraception and even the copper IUD. I 100% advise any woman to get off non barrier contraception ASAP.

@@litrugia yes 100% I hope I didnt come off as demeaning. You have 5 kids clearly you dont view them as a burden. When I was trying to get out is more of the general norm among a lot of evangelical seems unbiblical. The notion that I know other young single people who are already saying beforehand they want to limit themselves to a certain number, it’s like shouldnt the starting Attitude be to have them until God makes it clear in life you should stop like he has apparently in your life and that’s reasonable and God honoring. People should want to have children until it’s clear that it’s no longer going to be fruitful if they continue. What you expressed is extremely different from what I was getting at. A lot of people would say for me to keep my mouth shut to not risk offending someone, but then they turned a blind eye to the fact that when I expressed wanting to have a large family everyone looks at me like I have a third eye on my forehead. And that unlike your attitude a lot of people are wanting to limit the number of children they have because of not liking children as much or prioritizing other things more than family, which seems to not be your heart at all. I dont mean to be insensitive at all I pray the best for your family🙂
@Razaiel
@Razaiel Год назад
There's a few reasons why people aren't having more children, so I'll try to list a few highlights. 1) People used to live in multigenerational families, this made having lots of kids easier because there were extended family members around to help out. Now that most people are living in nuclear families with their extended family not living nearby, the load falls entirely upon the parents. 2) Cost of living has increased, while real wages have been stagnant since the late 1970's thanks to us having a fiat currency. This means that often times both parents have to work in order to support the household. These aren't all the reasons, but two of the big ones in my view.
@framboise595
@framboise595 Год назад
@@Razaiel The nimber one reason is that men have no control over women anymore and they are just gradually losing their civilisation. The my body my choice crap has been the end of the West and men have AGREED to let women do whatever they want , putting in their hands contraception , which is a crime against God's authority/submission order. He shall rule over you has become She rules through every way possible , whether in debauchery or in marriage. Just take a look at the Bible and see if GOD cared about what women thought . When God wanted the earth to be populated again after the flood , he told Noah and his sons to do so.. Not a word to his wife or his 3 daughters in law. Women are supposed to be in submission and suffer the pains of childbearing Genesis 3:16 Since Western men have listened and embraced the rebellion of women , they are going to lose both their women and their civilisation , culture and faith. You don't mock the Lord eternally.

Does Pastor Joel have an opinion on consistently using NFP? I go back and forth because the intention seems to be the same as the birth control pill at the end of the day as keeping away life in the first place and not trusting God with our womb. I am probably ONE OF the biggest advocates against non-barrier contraception that you will ever find. I started using ovulation tracking after the birth of our second child. She was born via an emergency C-section, and I needed to give my womb time to heal properly before trying for our third. When we decided the time was right I got pregnant first attempt with a child we ended up miscarrying last summer. She was 6+3 when her heart stopped beating, and I was supposed to be 8w along. A repeat ultrasound a couple weeks later confirmed our fourth miscarriage in less than 5 years of marriage. One of those pregnancy losses was an ectopic pregnancy With which I was already internally bleeding when it was surgically resolved on New Year's Eve 2019. I am now due in 3 weeks with our third child, and we have decided that she will be our last. My body has barely been able to handle this pregnancy, much less the grief in my spirit from all the children I will never get to hold. We really wanted 4, but with the is devastation and scar tissue, neither of us can go through that again. My husband got a vasectomy this past February. If I end up needing a repeat C-section I have given consent to have my tubes removed. It is not an issue of salvation. We have been faithful to produce enough children to replace us after our death, and then one more.
@susihaynes6629
@susihaynes6629 2 года назад
My husband and I used NFP. We had three planned pregnancies and four sons (second pregnancy included twins!). After the first three sons were born, we were a bit overwhelmed since we had three sons in 17 months and thought about using sterilization to keep from having more kids. But I felt deeply in my heart that there was one more kid waiting to happen. So we used NFP to avoid pregnancy and then, seven years after the twins were born, my husband and I both knew that it was time and we conceived our final son. Jacob is a HUGE blessing and I tell him all the time that I missed him for seven years until I finally got to meet him! So NFP, used prayerfully, is in my opinion perfectly fine and can help us carry out God’s will for our family.

Also consider why that 3rd measure is in place. Why also thin the uterine lining? If the first two measures are effective, there is no need for this. What if the first two “measures” aren’t actually effective? Perhaps almost every “prevention” is actual abortive. As Joel says there is no way to know, no studies will ever be done.

You’re saying in your heart, “I don’t want to multiply.” Additionally, I think you’ll have a hard time rebutting Joel’s specific argument in this video regarding the pill. You can literally allow a fertilized egg to pass by taking the pill. How in good conscience could you take something that makes the womb inhospitable for a baby? (It’s a person the moment it’s fertilized.) I’m willing to allow the argument for Christian liberty regarding “natural methods.” But not for the pill. It’s sinful.
