Thank you for your question! From Heidi: A result of working in the round in a spiral the rows will always be a bit "off". If you were to join at the end of each round and ch 1 to start the next round, you would end up with an even row at the top. Hope that makes sense! I found this article which might be helpful in explaining it further (with pictures). I used a size I-9 (5.5mm) hook with worsted weight yarn. Depending on how loose or tight your stitches are, you may find using a larger hook (J) or smaller (H) will work better for you!
