Can Crush Experiment: Explanation 

This is one of my favorite demos to do! Easy to set up, dramatic, and supports learning.

Yeah, this one is a lot of fun to do and really demonstrates the power of atmospheric pressure.

In case it was not inverted the steam and water remains inside applying some pressure to balance the outer pressure also some air from outside enters the can too but when we immediately invert it there is no air , water and steam creating a vacuum. Allowing outside pressure to crush the can

Volume is the amount of space in a 3D object, in this case, the can. When the can gets squished, it gets smaller. The amount of its space decreases.

Good question! There is water that is sucked into the can but the crushing happens very quickly. I suppose there isn't much volume left in the can so it may be that the volume of the can that is left is full of water. You ask a good question. I'll take a look next time I do this.
