This has to be named like battle Bonono vs Addamo continues or something cause I expected some "old school crushes young guns souls" content. Obviosly that 10-9 shove is based on their history only, and their key hands deserved a lot more attention in clip title
Very interesting episode. As far as Seidel was concerned, his hand was standard especially against Addamo. If he raises smaller, what are you doing when Addamo kicks it in? If you fold, Addamo owns you for all of the hands in his range that is not AK off(he has a wide range in that spot). You end out making a crying call that you rather not do with a middle pair. Seidel has some fold equity with the shove because it puts Addamo in a tough spot with a Middle Ace, K10, KJ that may fold to the shove. As far as the 2 hands with Bonomo, the 1st one was an interesting one. I would have taken as much time as Bonomo and probably will deduce that if Addamo has a quality hand, he would have value bet the river, but it was a great call. The same goes for Addamo's call of KJ after a 4 bet shove pre-flop. Usually, I would gripe about the typical slow play but these were hard decisions. As far as the resuckout is concerned, that is poker. To be honest, this was good poker.
I don't think his hand is as standard as you're saying. Look at ICM, Seidel won 358k, I guy with a 3d of his stack won 495k. $150,000 pair of 8's? I think you can fold with a 4x raise. Eric can get 8's in with Yifrach who has a much smaller stack
10:30 I remember agreeing to that when a buddy that was asking me why are we still playing this sick game when it hurts so bad so frequently. "Bro we are masochists, that's why". 😂
Out of all of the old guard (Hellmuth, Negreanu, Brunson, Chan, etc.), Seidel is the only one that I see who consistently buys into these high roller tourneys against millennial sickos and competes hard. I still remember that EPT tourney where he went up to an up-and-coming Polish dude and steals his soul with a J-high call.
How were you mistaken about him? He just won 3 high roller's in a row in the poker go championship and was the series winner. He is an exceptional player.
Um.. Erik called down a maniac heads up on a final table a few years ago with J high and won. Of course he can keep up. Oh it's against Addamo..... nevermind
Immediate genius and unconventional play from addamo with top pair vs BB at 1:00 - you know you're calling whatever the turn so why not bet tiny let them catch up a little and then call the shove... I shall try to remember that!
"The gravity of this hand cannot be understated . . ." Here, and the last few times I've heard this phrase used, the speaker means "overstated" -- it's so extreme you can't exaggerate too much. Maybe it's time to relegate it to the obsolete usage bin . . .
I’m new to poker, can someone tell me why bonomo went all in with 10 9? Was he just looking for a fold, and if so why not wait until he got a better hand?
@@multiplepassions3694 I don't know if the blinds were going up, it's not important. Yes it's big risk, not sure Bonomo is proud for this move but it's not a mistake . The % of time Adamo will fold + % of time Bonomo will be paid but win = not so bad
The last hand was a joke. I can't believe everyone is appreciating their play, even if its a levelling war. Firstly, lets see what all is on the line....the big paygap between 1st and 2nd place prize (which might be inconsequential to these guys, which is OK) but isn't the whole reason to play is to ship the tourney and win a bracelet? Now, they are not short by any stretch of imagination. Bonomo shoved 70+ bb, HU with T9o - really? And this massive shove gets called by KJs, when he has less than 10bb invested and if he loses, he is left with
GTO speaking it was terrible plays the all in AND the call, but they had reads on eachother.. They made money at poker these guys are not stupid .. So I will not say this was good plays, but i'll not judge them this fast by saying they are just gambling at this point.
@@MrVultim or they are both super rich and huge gamblers and just hope to get lucky. Lets see where Addamo is in a few years with his hyper aggressive play. We see a new poker genius every few years and lots of em are writing bad checks within 10 years and getting jail time.
Probably not. Doubt he's ever looked at a solver. The young endbosses nowadays spend all their time sat in front of a computer screen staring at solvers like robots.
@@SobotenbergFAV all i am talking about is that in THIS particular video he showed little skill and lots of luck. Do you have any arguments against that?
@@s_murph7299 so instead limp with 88 and then 4 bet all in to a raise? His limp in that spot isn’t a good play. And I’ve seen min raising wars preflop - like 4 or 5 bets and someone get away from the hand.
