This is the very first LoL worlds I've watched and I've never played it, but I've heard tonnes about Faker over the years and find myself rooting hard for him to win.

I dont watch much league esports, typically only watching a bit at worlds, but the T1 vs JDG series was some of the best league ive seen.

Most pro players just fall off after being at their prime at a certain point, but not Faker. Like, holy shit even after so many years, he's still as competitive as you can expect him to be. How can anyone be this goddamn strong?

Faker's story is like that of one of my fave donghua anime - The King's Avatar... It only deviates on the part where the protagonist, Ye Xiu, was forcefully kicked out of his team but was able to create a new one, whereas Faker remained loyal to T1... Hope the donghua's happy ending would be recreated (in real life) by Faker and T1... 4-time world champion...

The title is misleading… Faker’s won is 3 times already. T1 all the way. Even if they lose, it still makes the adage “All roads lead to Faker” absolutely correct. He’s the final boss for any challenging team. Bro deserves more respect.

I'm not going to lie, this finals is going to be legendary. I've played 1 LoL game in my life, and i've never watched a pro game ever. Barely ever even heard of anything outside of Faker. But i'm tuning in with a watch party of other people who have also never watched a game. This is likely the biggest esports match all year simply because the storyline is way too good

this is what I like about league tournaments. players gets to rest. meanwhile in dota you get a 5 games and then couple of hours or minutes you'll go straight to finals the same day. imagine the toll that they took before that finals. for me i think thats mentally unfair. I'm a dota player btw but i do love watching lol clips. and i love how they organize the tournaments.

Think that this year's worlds especially. T1 weren't exactly the favorites to win, especially against all LPL teams. -LNG (Sure maybe) -BLG (Got beaten at MSI) -JDG (A near perfect team in 2023) I mean at one point, people didn't even know if T1 would even qualify for worlds and they got thrashed by GenG 3-0 with a close series against KT. But now, they are fkin hungry for that trophy. I hope they won't make the same mistake twice again by underestimating a 4th seed team.

I know you could have said the same thing about last year, but the way DRX played in quarters and semis last year, you could tell they were peaking out of their minds and continued to do so in the finals. The plays were so clean, like oner's pixel perfect engages, faker's game bending engage and guma's 1v2. Also, just wanted to say that guma's 1v2 was bloody insane and won them that game, remember Zeri was fed, even if a signle of her q's hit guma, he'd be less than 50% hp, a single w, q, AA would kill guma and he doges everything and he hits 5 AA and 1 Q in the span of .5 of a second. a FRACTION of a second guys. i started playing LoL at the very end of season 2, so season 3 was the first year i watched the pro scene. It was T1's breakout year when Faker impressed the entire world with his skills. I've been a fan of SKT and Faker since then even though i stopped playing league 5 years ago. It would be amazing if Faker wins worlds in 2023 on his 10th year anniversary.

I believe that Faker is a great player, but I think that one of the main reasons he has his haters is due to the fact that he only won during the days the competition was not yet that refined, which in turn means that if Faker can't win now that other regions have developed, it would mean that he was only GOAT because he took advantage of the time that the game was easy, which can be an argument to say that he is overrated. (similar situation to Sentinels at the start of Valorant Esports) However, the fact that he can stay competitive for so long within so many changes (both in game and the team around him), the fact that he made T1 a team that is always expected to make a good run at international events (no more, no less) is an achievement on itself. Faker already has all the trophies to prove he's the greatest of all time, and so he has nothing to prove to anyone (characterized by his demeanor and approach at the game seen in the teasers). Faker is the GOAT, but he isn't undisputed, his achievements is well within reach (considering he was on top for his first 5 years but couldn't go back up for the next 7 years). Those 7 years allowed people to come close to him (Although, the fact that no one could even reach his 5 year success in a span of 7 years just proves that what he did was immaculate). If he wants to prove that he's undisputed, to the point that even the haters won't have much to say, is to win a trophy here, at the modern age, and what better way to prove it by winning against TheShy, the player that started the new era of League, where Korea is not always going to be the winner.

The fact that all the anaysts agree that there is a huge gap after Faker to consider 2nd to GOAT and that is something that's disputed. Even if JDG completed the Golden Road, it wouldn't even have hindred Faker's Goatship but Ruler would definitely claim some well deserved spotlight. However, world needs this win for Faker so bad for multitudes of reason. 1) The newer generation gets to see Faker win and it would be like if Star Wars Episode 7 was actually good and you would understand why old people talked about that franchise. 2) Similar to above, people who got into League later and the only dominance and victory they have seen of Faker and T1 dynasty is in archives. They would want to witness it first hand. 3) Faker and his fans need that seal of approval that he wasn't just lucky and that the game was too early to be mastered when he won it all. That Faker is not only relevant today but is just as dominant. 4) They need to break this final curse that's been going on for quite some years, where they dominate all the stages and choke in finals. 5) Coming so close to victory last year and watching Keria cry, the only consolation was that T1 can actually do it next year and this is the moment. 6) Faker and T1 has not only has been doubted a lot this year, at least after MSI but the fact that Faker was injured and people thought its all over, to the team falling apart without him and coming back together to this spot just makes it hell of a story. 7) T1 and Faker's win would be a special tale, both of dominance and also an underdog story, it would be a no brainer to agree that his 4th would be just as special if not more special than his actual first!

Its my first year even watching worlds, and DAMNNN I l o v e faker and all the team, honestly i hope they will remain together, its such a nice time seeing them win and honestly guma and doner will most likely stay but without zeus and keria it will way harder so we can only hope all they remain together
