Halo CE's LASO Challenge is Pure Pain 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS "Why does your reticle come back?" As I explain in the video, the Malfunction skull disables a random HUD element. It *happened* to be the reticle the first time, and every new life, it changes to something else. *This is explained at the start of the video* "How do you throw a plasma grenade on 343 Guilty Spark?" Good question. You still spawn with plasma nades on levels where you do normally, and 343 is one of them. I didnt even realize this while making the video, but I do address it on Two Betrayals.

Very impressive, frog. I wish I were better at Halo speedrun tricks. I have managed to beat all of the MCC games on LASO but the speedruns just kick my ass.

Getting onto the ship for Truth and Reconciliation was the hardest thing I've done in a video game save for the prison skip in Gravemind in Halo 2. I recorded every death for LASO for CE-4, and I had over 1,000 screencapped deaths that I have been tossing around the idea of making into a supercut. Edit: seeing you just completely skip that area hurt my feelings.

So you can quit out right as you die in laso, and if you go back to the Playlist and hit resume you will have a checkpoint saved. That'll save you so much trouble for the rest of the Laso challenges in different Halos. I can't imagine having a perfect run in Laso I died so many times doing all of the Laso's! 😂

I've been watching you for a long time frog, and I've got to say I'm really impressed by the way your style has evolved. I can't wait to see what your videos are like in the coming years :)

This is what I'm currently working on as well. I'm on the 9th mission and am trying to learn how to do the flood bump to bypass the whole level. So far the hardest missions were Truth and Reconciliation and The Library. Both of these are brutal. Silent Cartographer and Assault on the Control Room were the easiest missions. Silent Cartographer gives you so many supplies and there's no real difficult parts and the banshee grab trick makes Assault on the Control Room super duper easy. Edit: just finished Halo CE LASO

Oof, coming across this video now and seeing all the tricks and skips almost makes me want to cry. My buddy and I have been going through the whole Halo series doing LASO; started in Reach just over a year ago, and now we're almost through Halo 3. We're not speedrunners or experts, though, and we've refused to look up any guides; we're just going through based on our own casual-player knowledge. It took us 46.5 hours over 15 different sessions to finally beat just CE, we're over a 170 hours invested into the whole run so far: I'm keeping a spreadsheet of it. Thanks for the inspiration to keep going, though!

Mad respect mate, I completed every halo game on legendary expect halo 5 and infinite. and I also was crazy enough to play dark souls 1, 2, 3... Yeah I've had my fair share of madness I'm keeping my sanity and not touching LASO ever.. I also don't know why but I did not skip anything when I did my legendary run.. all those jackal snipers and bullet sponge knights..

Crazy how I've beaten all of the LASO playlists in MCC and I'm hearing of all these new tricks I've never seen or used before!!!

Following your respective video guides I was able to beat Hale CE and Halo 2 under 3 hours and now...finally...also got the Halo CE LASO Playlist achievement. No glitches used outside of the despawn trick on Two Betrayals (which you skipped ironically) and early Gondola in Regret. Now Im pumped to start Halo 2 LASO, hope I wont have to figure out the entire run by myself *wink-wink*. Thanks for your "regular guy" guides, wouldnt have been able to complete any of those without their help :)

Wow. Very impressed with how quickly you handled this. Me and my brother did LASO on the Trilogy, but we didn’t know all the tricks. Library was a NIGHTMARE. Took us 7-8 agonizing hours 😂😭

A tip for LASO runs. Take a tiny piece of coloured tape or piece of stickynote (or something similar), start up the game normally, lightly stick your tape on the screen where the reticle is. Congrats you now have a reticle that the game cant take away

halo ce is such a unique laso, not being able to use covenant weapons + grunt funeral makes for such a unique playpattern compared to the other ones, when i did it a couple years ago i basically just followed halo completionists guides on it was a fun experience i never wanna do again.

For level 2 halo, when ships 4 and 5 drop you can run back towards the beginning of the level where the bridge is. This despawns waves 1-3 if you haven’t cleared them yet, and on waves 4 and 5 which drop at the same time it will spread them out while the pelican drops the hog. All you need to do is run along the right or left side along the wall and you should be able to skip both waves without them noticing you and take the hog to finish the level

Never knew about the grenade jump on truth and rec. I always just got hit with the Hunter upswing while jumping, and that would normally send me high enough.

When my friend and I played T&R legendary we determined which of us Keyes was following and had that person sit in the prison block babysitting Keyes while the other cleared the way to the hanger. 😂

My brother and I didn’t know about the ammo backpack reload when we did it coop. Our solution? Melee kill every flood. Save bullets for the carrier forms. Otherwise just melee kill. We hoarded shotgun shells and rockets till the last two ish rooms and burned through it all in a sprint to the Index. I think it took 8 hours for us to get through. Slow and steady, beating every combat form to death.

A memory from 23 years ago. My cousin and I were co-oping Legendary because I wanted to "see the real ending." We spent forever on it as we were young and incredibly bad. After failing over, and over and over and over again on the final mission we managed to make it to the end of the game and saw the infamous 'real ending.' My cousin sat there, stunned. "We did all that just to see a dude hug an alien?!" I still don't think he has forgiven me.

At 10:08 in all my years of playing Halo CE since it launched I have never seen an elite get into a shade turret before the mission Keyes. I didn't know they could.

I remember doing CE laso on mcc a few years ago, it was actually the most fun one to do out of all of them besides the library. Still haven’t been able to do halo 2 laso since I play solo but I completed reach, 3 and odst solo laso. Fun times

After doing a coop CE LASO with a friend, it's always fun to see how the strategies people use for missions differ so wildly in many places, and yet everybody learns that the only way to beat the Library is to full send it and just PRAY a rocket flood doesn't stuff a SPNKR up your ass.

I tried halo 3 laso. I was solo but did co op to reset to checkpoints when i die, and i put a small piece of tape on my screen where the reticle is supposed to be. Took me 3 hours to beat sierra 117. This shit is ridiculous lol gg frog
