I guess this is why I love watching GTN videos. As amazing as they are athletically and professionally, they manage to be just genuine, nice, and humble humans that are willing to share. Great job team!
Heather is absolutely astounding in her athleticism, intellect and retained femininity. She s also completely adorable and professional. I’ve never seen a more committed athlete. If they give raise in pay over at GTN, I think she’s probably due one. Cheers 🥂
Doesn’t it? Generally the more fit a woman is the less her body fat percentage and the less fertile she is. Defining exactly what femininity is might be another topic though…
Congrats, Heather! Such an inspiring performance. I found myself getting emotional with you lol. I think we're close to the same age and people ask me all the time why I'm still running or chasing goals, and what I really want to say is, "Because I can!" Thanks for all the info you share- truly changed my life over these years that I've been following GTN.
@@gtn This year, I'm training for a half-marathon PR in May, and I want to PR my 5k in October. Last year, I completed my first Half by following the GTN plan, which finally got me running consistently lol.
Kudos to you, Heather!! It is great to have you as a role model. Thank you for sharing the good, bad and ugly. Having goals and taking the small steps to reach them is what it is all about.
Besides being an excellent presenter and determined athlete, Heather taking the time to respond to nearly every comment shows what kind of person she is. Job well done!
Sorry I’m a little late to this video 😬 but absolutely loved it. It was a bit of a surprise when it came up you were racing in my local park 😃. Wish id known back then, I’d have come to cheer you on. Massive congratulations on your PB Heather. Incredible time 🏃🏻♀️💨💪
Congratulations! Your PB was already insanely amazing and to beat it 4 years later is quite the accomplishment! I’m definitely older but I still have a dream of meeting my goal of a 1:45 h half-marathon. I found training for trails and longer distances has slowed me down so I need to get those speed sessions in. You are so inspiring and 10 km is a tricky distance. You should feel proud of yourself!
Wow - I thought I was pretty good hitting a sub hour 10k lol. Amazing run and so inspiring. The enthusiasm is contagious and I'll have to see if Hugo has anything on WKO/TP!
Heather really is an inspiration! If you'd like to check it out, we have a video of her completing a 100km race! 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R4j9jBoFIgw.html 👀
That was one of the best motivational and genuine vlogs Heather, you smiled, laughed stressed and almost cried and I think I did it all with you lol, was holding my breath at the end. Loved every moment and congratulations 🎉 💛💕
Heather, I have been following you for a couple of years now, but this video is awesome. Mainly because it really ‘ humanised’ you. It is so easy to overlook that elite and top notch athletes are normal people who have normal needs and emotions. Thank you personally for being normal. Amazing athlete.
Huge congratulations on the awesome achievement Heather! Setting a goal and accomplishing it is a great feeling, and what a goal you achieved, that's so fast. I've never done a triathlon in my life, yet I've followed this channel since its beginning because of videos like this. Heather and Mark (and now James) are just so charming, entertaining, knowledgeable and all around great to watch. Here's hoping the rest of your goals come true this year too!
This is so great to hear! Thanks for being a part of the GCN community, we make all this content for you! 🙌 Would you ever consider doing a triathlon? 👀
Congrats! I can appreciate that feeling, I was in the same boat in my PB in 2021. Blew up 3k in and watching people go past and hanging on. It was only when I noticed my watch said I was 3 minutes off my PB time… but only 2 minutes from the finished line that I realised I was on for it and pushed to the end.
Congrats on the PB, the feeling is addictive! I had a great end to my first full-year running - over 4 mins off my 10k in November, 7 mins o the year. Still not fast (46:40) but heading towards my long-term goal of 37:30 (UK age-group Masters minimum standard at 10k). Also completed my first Half and set a 5k PB on Christmas day! Race target for March, 45:xx with sub 43 goal to close the year off and keep on track for the main goal. Have a half and trail ultra at the end of the year.
Well done, Heather, knew you do it. I've just turned 60 and am looking forward to running to see what times and positions I can achieve. My scary goal is to reach the top three for the Berkshire Road race championships for my age group. You have to be in it to win it. Thanks, Heather, for these vlogs to keep us inspired plus James and Mark.
Fantastic Heather. Trust the training.Over coming the mind and getting out and do it. A lot we can take away from this. I am advancing to Olympic distance from sprint and the biggest thing holding me back is fear but you have proven a person must just go out and do it. Thank you.
Thst was a very inspiring video, nice to see the normal juggling of training and work and well done Heather. Great to see you get a pb too and that was the icing on the cake. Definitely more there and you looked very smooth.
Favorite part, “ I actually enjoyed running “ , I had that moment the other night on 5km fun run…. I’m 60 and it’s the little things when running, and not hurting myself …. Your the Best when your just working off your emotions.💪🙏👍🥂
Heather, thank you so much for giving all of us the motivation we all need to get our and keep on training!!! Watching your video has made me set new goals and train for them!
This was a great video to watch and appreciate your thought processes whilst working towards a PB. Thank you GTN for a great vid and congratulations Heather on your PB!
Congratulations! You are absolutely amazing, Heather! You have inspired me to take my next training block quite seriously. Also, these race videos are some of the best content you guys produce, absolutely love them. I know it can't be easy making them, but keep 'em coming!
Congrats Heather!! Trusting the process and the coaches is really hard. I’d say that trust in the training process is harder than the race itself. You can definitely go faster and really should give it a go. You have nothing but time in the grand scheme of adult life.
Sticking to a training plan is hard work! Heather has done an amazing job 🙌 Did you catch this coaches corner on this very subject 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tu0TsVp900E.html
Hey, I appreciate your content.. I have been following GTN for a while.. Very grateful for this video as it shows the craziness our minds takes us.. I wish you well. and have a rest day or 2!.. LOL.. AWESOME!.
Absolutely brilliant video. I am currently using an AI program for a half marathon in March, aiming to knock off 6-11 minutes off my current PB. Your comments at the end of this recording speak volumes and I may have to replay them over the next few weeks for encouragement. Thanks Heather
It's great to hear your support for Heather 😊 If you want to see more, we have a video of her doing 100km! 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R4j9jBoFIgw.html 👀
HEATHER oh my god you're so impressive, that's a nutty 10k time. And to beat your PB is such an accomplishment, so much second-hand pride to see you smash your goal
Congratulations, very well done. This video motivates me so much, also to tackle a new 10k goal. PB is not possible, I'm too old for that. But to have a goal and to try everything for that , is a great feeling. I will start tomorrow.
Omg so proud of you. Amazing!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Just for doing it in the snow and for that amazing PB. your reaction at the end made me cry a bit. I miss running so much. That’s what it’s all about. So, so well done 👏🏻. I did a ‘winter warmer’ 10k last January in the snow and was basically weeping I was so cold. Amazing achievement. Inspirational. ❤
@@gtn thanks. I found the video really emotional. I had full thickness tears in knee cartilage and surgery for that so the jury is a bit out about returning to running but I’ll do my utter best to make sure I do in some form or other! I’ll keep being inspired and informed by GTN content in the meantime!❤️
Glad you enjoyed the video! If you want to see more of Heather running we've got a video of her doing 100km! 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R4j9jBoFIgw.html 👀
Thanks very much for the motivation. I'm doing a half marathon in two weeks so every bit of encouragement is appreciated. Oh and congratulations on the PB.
Awesome work Heather. Dont really get that involved but found myself cheering you on! Top work, inspirational - I have a target this year...just need to follow and trust in the process...
I’m looking to break my 10k PB at the Eastleigh 10k in March. Currently it’s 53:43 and I’d like to get to 49:xx so the next 6 weeks are going to hurt but as Heather showed it can be done!
Awesome stuff, I'm going to spend the summer training for PBs after my marathon. Get 1 mile, 5k, 10k, half marathon PBs, maybe hit the track. I also just want to say, Fell is an amazing surname. Makes me think of fellrunning and awesome landscapes.
Well done Heather! You're such an inspiration! I'm not as fast as you but I had a new 10k PB this weekend, a benchmark for 2023. August 2022 10k was 58:38 then November 2022 57:02 but this weekend I went to my 10k race as part of my LLHM training and didn't expect much. Looked at my watch at 9k marker and saw I have a chance for 55 min and I went for it. Not quiet sub55mins but I'm happy with my 55:06. More reason to train smarter. ps love your videos.
Brilliant video Heather! Pretty sure I would have taken one look at the conditions and gone back to bed. But I guess that is why you were an olympian and the rest of us were not!
Awesome Heather, well done. Only suggestion is that your ability with good training to maintain speed may surprise you. I am 55 and no run faster than when i was half my age. Admittedly i am sure i could have gone faster when i was in my mid 20s but I have been amazed what good training can achieve (it just hurts more these days)
That was amazing. Your description of what you went through during the race, the self talk, doubts, etc. rings true for most athletes. It is good to get a reminder that we all experience the same doubts, even an Olympian. Well done on the PB too. Awesome. Thank you for the content. P.s How good are the volunteers who stand out in the snow to make the race great for competitors!
Congratulations on your PB, Heather! Following the GTN recommendations last winter, I'm training with Humango this year. Humango works poorly without a heart rate watch (last year), but exceeds expectations, when I wear the watch and feed it specific data. It took over a month for the AI to learn enough about me, it kept setting overly optimistic paces and annoying workouts. After a month or two, Humango began to schedule runs I enjoy in a way that protects me from my own ambitions. Hopefully, the process will bring results as surely as it did for Heather.
Thank you, Natalia, for sharing your experience with the community! It's great to hear you are enjoying the training our AI is prescribing for you. Best of luck and be sure to keep us updated on your progress. 🙌
It's great that you have such clear goals, we wish you luck in achieving them! Have you seen our video on running 5k under 20 minutes? 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rqWLAP9W6Bg.html hope it helps! 💪
