i was at bathurst when they broke the record. i was in a good spot coming into mcphilimy park. the SPEED the car carried through the left hander before the Esse's was unreal.
Had the pleasure of watching this thing from the house on the cutting. And my god was it loud. Hearing it from mountain straight to the downshifting 20m in front of me was just insane. It was incredible.
Could you get bump drafted by a pair of GT2s, one up each straight, instead of following another GT3? The higher power and top speed on those cars might be enough to give you another tenth or two on the final time
After we finished recording we did actually think of this, didn't have the time to try it. Maybe we can go all out next time to try & get into the 56's
very good video. reminded me of when Steve from super gt grinds a lap time for a couple of days, but with some creativity mixed in. I think you hit 293kph for a frame or two on your final lap.
insane lap, could you maybe do a video explaining what you did to the car tuning wise? and perhaps what was done to the track temps wise aswell so we can all give it a shot??
Hello James, very cool vidéo. It was very funny to see your friend loosing the car and going straight in the wall to let you braking 🤣 I was surprised to notice that you were never kicking in the ABS on the heavy braking as long as you keep your wheel straight. I don't know why turning the wheel triggers the ABS, it's the same on others sims ( i have a Simagic Haptor and know exactly when the ABS triggers ) and i wonder if it's real. But this calls into question my way of braking in ACC ( i really thought you have to trigger and stay in the ABS ).
trigering ABS is not ideal thats why you try to run it as low as possible its just there to make sure you dont lock up which is worse obviously. and to answer your question about turning triggers ABS its true as when you turn you start using more of the grip of the tires and you start adding extra forces to them which causes ABS to trigger in.
nice driving james. hours and headaches was worth it. I don't care you're one second off the un-homologated GT3 car. you are still fast. meanwhile I'm crying in front of my computer as I can only manage a 2:05 with a aston or the huracán.
you beat him by far. this one in real was wothout bop, making 308kph on the straight. record with BoP was 1 year earleir from maro Engel in the AMG with an 2:00.8Min
shouldve also disable fuel usage, tire and brake wear etc and go with min fuel and 4th option on breaks, they have best performance, but wear insanely fast, but with brake wear disabled, should be the best
They don't. 1 has the best performance, 4 is just a very fast-wearing pad with the same starting friction as pad 1, used for demonstrating what happens when brakes are worn, but in a much shorter timeframe.
@@Jaaames yeah mate right around the 40kg mark and I’m a 25 year old male. I’ve went to see the doctors about it and after $180 Australian they reckon I’m fine 😅🙄🙃. (Perfect race driver weight though aye haha, they’ll have to add weight to meet the minimum 😂)
I saw the merc record video out of context. I presumed it was quali as didn’t ready an bumph and was “what they have drs in the Aussie race” Well known my dumb ass knows. Anyway….. acc even em that does 2.01s. It’s flat from hairpin to the blend on skyline. Jules gounun record he’s not lofts quite a lot going up the mountain. The drs and extra 100bhp are defiently why he made that time. All about the straight lines. Now I wanna see how low I can get a v12 Aston…….
Could you not just use the GT2 Merc seeing as it has more power and you could offset the changes by adding ballast? I know it's not the GT3 car but technically you could close the gap on the regulations a bit right?
Hello James, I have a question, I think I can really drive well but I drive on PS5 and my times are over than 2 seconds behind the world record. In other simulations I am not quite as far behind just under 1 second. I compared my and a lap with same setup and he accellerates after me and has more top speed. Can you test in a video if you can do a lap on PC and PS5 with same setup in the same time?
I‘ve heard from different people there is a time gap between PS5 and PC but no RU-vidr tested it, maybe you can get on a rig with a PlayStation anywhere and try it.
