Can I build this 80s era balsa kit? / Pica 1/5 Waco build part 1 wings. 

I had one of these back in the mid 90's with an OS 91FS on the front. That thing flew so nicely. Congrats on finding one. You'll love flying it.

This takes me back to when I started flying. All that was available was kits and an occasional ARF. No foamies like today. Thanks for keeping the hobby alive brutha!!

Ohh the Waco,s had corugated aluminum coverd airelons. You could simulate that with string ir something glued on then fair in with spackle. Uhh, I built two Pica Bucker Jungmeisters , a marutaka Pitts and two Goldberg Ultimates. I like bibes.

Hi Tyler, I lucked into one of beauties although it had sat for years, someone had apparently tried to build the wings and of course all those parts are gone. No problem tho, cutting ribs and aquiring some balsa for what's missing is fun.....What I don't know though is what type of wood was used for the wing spars, may I ask what is supplied in the kit? The rest of the plane (Fuselage.Tail feathers si all there)........I am a builder that started in the 60's and like they say, you can always learn something new everyday and that exactly what's happening as I watch your series. Thx Mike

I have the same one, covered in fabric and currently ready for paint. Purchased a Saito 150 from RU-vidr David McIntyre(David's engines) and have it setup with a Perry pump. Installing a smoke system as well. I'll have to put a video up on my channel. Where's your helpers at? 😺

Hello, nice to meet you, my name is Angelo, I live in Brazil, I started assembling my WACO yfm3 KIT, I bought it 8 years ago, the fuselage is finished, now I started the horizontal stabilizer, but I'm in doubt, do you have images of the steps of the elevator construction? My doubt is in the interpretation of the plan, at the same time that the stabilizer has plates it also has ribs 5/32 x 5/32, the elevator is completely plated and the ribs are to give the shape of a ribbed elevator after covering? I need guidance in this regard. thanks
