If there's an EP that should get the Spa Day Refresh treatment, it's absolutely Get to Work. Even if they don't add so much, just fix things players have been demanding for. Make the hospital, station, and lab accessible in Magnolia Promenade. If they don't, at least make them actual lot types so players can build their own, like we already do with bakeries, businesses, etc. In that same breath, every commercial lot should be a viable type of business. Imagine owning a gym, a pool, a bar - and imagine cross compatibility with owning cafés and spas. I know that'd be a pretty big overhaul of the business system (meaning, selling services vs. selling items), but still. And God, just add decent assets because the meshes from G2W CAS aged SO badly, then just refresh them. There's so much untapped potential with this EP.

sims challenge idea: a lets play where the only furniture u can buy is the stuff u buy at retail lots (or the etsy-thing they have - basically, nothing from build mode allowed except for the walls, doors, windows, etc) you can absolutely make your own retail lots so they sell better stuff, but that seems like it'd be a rly fun, annoying, realistic method of buying stuff!

As a real life Toy Collector, my SimSelf has been working on completing the My Sims and Simmie (those little gatcha capsules from Snowy Escape) collections and I have to say, it's as frustrating as it is in real life. Constantly searching for the one super rare you're missing, getting doubles all the time, paying ridiculous markups at second-hand vendors. It's aggravatingly realistic...
@DoveJS
@DoveJS 2 года назад

I always forget about the retail lots, since everything you buy mostly ends up in your inventory. I would love a refresh on Get To Work where you need to go to a retail lot to obtain certain items, or just something which makes you want to visit them. I miss the cohesiveness in the retail lots.

True! Maybe a lot challenge similar to cottage living's but instead of needing the ingredients to cook, needing to buy clothes in order for your sims to wear them (and give an online shopping system where you need to wait for shipping, that way you can choose to use it but will be forced to go to the store if you need something quickly, and maybe different stock for each to encourage shopping multiple places)

My first Sims game was The Sims: Free Play, which was pretty much the Sims Mobile before that existed. The graphics were terrible, their was barley anything to dress your Sims with, and every action besides the very basic took multiple minutes or hours of real world time! It was clearly trying to get you to cave and buy their in-game currency, which I never did, but I eventually got so stressed out with their timed quest lines that I had to uninstall it.

I am an OG. I received The Sims for Easter in 2000. I was 16 and in HS. I was wandering around the Wal-Mart electronics section - cuz that’s what you did in small town America in the late 90’s/early 2000’s - and this bright yellow case caught my eye. I was VERY familiar with Sims City so I was intrigued. I read the back and was told I could LIVE as my Sims in Sims City and design my homes, design my Sims & CONTROL their lives! I BEGGED for it! My Mom agreed to get it for me but it was an Easter present (and Lent hadn’t even started yet). I finally finagled my Mom to let me have the booklet that I kept in my bedside table and read almost every night. By the time Easter rolled around I WAS READY! I’ve been hooked ever since.

My earliest memories were from elementary school when I would go to my friend’s house to play the original The Sims. I remember we would take turns designing our rooms. We would take so long that by the time we finished building the house I would have to go home. I’ve loved all of the The Sims games since. The first one I ever owned was The Sims 2 Deluxe. Wow, memories. That was back when sims weren’t so self-sufficient. The first time I played it the mom in my family died from hunger (because I didn’t know how to feed them yet) and the grim reaper came to take her away. Safe to say I was a little petrified to play for a while after that. I’ve had every base Sims game since then. I also had My Sims for the Wii. When I saw you placing the My Sims figures it brought me back! This comment was a lot longer than I meant for it to be. Anyway, I love your videos! Keep up the great work :) xx

Technically, my first Sims game was Simcity for Windows 3.1!! I remember when the first ad for The Sims came out, it showed Simcity and zoomed in on one of the houses and said 'Imagine if you could control the people in your city' (or something of the sort, it was 20 years ago, I don't remember the exact words). I have played every iteration of The Sims on PC since then. I only discovered you (and others who make videos about the game) during 2020, when I finally had time to play a bit. My building and gameplay have been enhanced greatly since then, so thank you for that! Also, this is a cute store, I wish real toy stores looked like this!

This kind of EA build makes me so nervous for The Sims 5. There are so many things that need to be improved from The Sims 4 and also so many things that the community has wanted for so long that they could add that I'm afraid of things like this getting left by the wayside. Honestly I feel like if they just committed to making continuous improvements for The Sims 4 and adding things we want and fixing the issues that are already there I feel like it would be better than a whole new game where we have to start over with our laundry list

My first Sims game was TS2. I think I was 8 or so and my older siblings introduced it to me. I think it was after Open for Business and Family Fun Stuff came out because I vaguely remember how terrible one of my first houses was. I think it was a giant tall box with almost no windows. I remember being obsessed with including a party room for some reason. I then got more into architecture and got grid paper so I could draw house plans and build them in the Sims. I definitely remember when the Sims 3 came out because we would share the disc. Sims 4 I didn’t buy until a few years in because I heard about the backlash. The Sims 4 still has many issues but I would say it’s definitely improved a lot since launch. I think what got me more into the sims over time was actually watching James Turner (who I remember as the Sims Supply) and Lazy Game Reviews for the Sims 3 packs. I also remember Quxxn’s LPs. I started with the very first Sims game. I think there had been four Sim City games before that. I had all the console and PC games and expansions up until The Sims 4. There are still several that I don't have and some I'll probablu never buy. The Sims 2 was a really challenging game. In my first household, the mother died in a fire right after giving birth to her second child. The father had to take care of the infant and child while not losing his job and couldn't afford a nanny. The little boy had to skip school to stay with the baby. He would just stand by the grave and cry. They had basically no food, so the neighbors would bring over brownies. Finally after several days the father got a promotion where he worked nights so he could stay with the baby in the daytime and they had money for food. And then the older son got picked up by the social worker for having bad grades and was sent to military school. My Sims Kingdom was one of the cutest games ever. I had a lot of fun with that one.

I'm almost 28 and have played since sims 1. It warms my heart that my oldest son was born same year as sims 4 came out and he's just starting to play. He makes some crazy modern mansions and gets mad when I try and make him tiny little starter homes LOL.

My first Sims experience was at a friends house, I was maybe 11-12 years old. This was about 20 years ago so it was probably the first one. I didn't own my own sims games until I was in my 20's though and I started collecting the Sims 2 games. Loved Sims 3, and avoided sims 4 for at least a year before I finally broke down and bought it lol.

You just made me feel so old! 😅 I was in college when the Sims 1 came out and our whole family played it. I also played it’s precursor, Sim City, because my dad loves video games.

My first Sims game was Sims 1 in around 2000! My dad played it and I liked to watch and was then allowed to play myself! I also remember playing My Sims on the Wii when I was a teenager. I've been playing on and off for over 20 years.

completing collections was one of my favorite things to do in ts3, but for some reason i don't really bother with it in ts4. i think it's because the inventory UI is so tiny and hard to use that it just makes managing & organizing items so miserable.

my first sims game was actually the mobile one! I loved that game but I always got bored of it around the time I had 10 ish sims, because everything took like a week to finish. when I discovered the sims 4 and all the crazy stuff you can do in it I was absolutely blown away and I spent so many hours just building houses. your videos have gotten me back into the sims so thank you for that :)

My first Sims game was The Sims (1). Me and my best friend both owned the original game but then we had a couple of different packs each so we used to play it at each other's houses, having one or two saves we played with on each computer. My favourite pack by far was the Holiday pack which I owned. When The Sims 2 came later I got every pack for it. I've also played The Urbz lots and lots on PlayStation 2 with my siblings.

My first sims game was the sims 2. My grandma played it, and she got me interested in it. She also bought me some of the spin off games for my gameboy and GameCube and later my Wii. I enjoyed them, but I didn't become obsessed until I got the sims 3 for PC for Christmas when I was 12 or 13. I've been obsessed ever since 😁

I’m 21. My first sims game was also My Sims Kingdom, but on the DS that ironically one of my grandparents also purchased me. Then I forgot about the sims for a bit until 2015 or so. All my friends at school we’re talking about TS4 and buying it and playing it, but I couldn’t afford it at the time. I was 15 with no job and my parents didn’t have a lot of money. But TS3 and some of its packs were starting to go on sale on Steam around then so I got that with some birthday and Christmas money I’d saved instead. I played that until sometime after Discover University came out and before Eco Lifestyle released for TS4 which is when I finally swapped over. Been going strong and buying all the packs slowly as I go since then.

My first Sims game was the Sims 4, honestly. I had never heard of the game before until I started watching videos of people playing it & I started getting interested in it, making me really want to play it. I eventually got my hands on it & I started playing it & have a lot of fun with it. I still play with it. I got into it at the beginning of 2018. It's been a blast since then & I will never stop playing it, glitches, bugs, & all. I also play with CC & mods now, making it even more enjoyable. I have every single pack, including kits for it.

First, the toy store is super cute. Also, I think the most fun I had in the Sims was with Realm of Magic. I know that's not really Simsie's thing, but it was more collecting all the bits for spells, collecting the actual spells themselves, leveling up. It kept me busy for quite a long time.

my first sims game was the sims 1 and boy howdy is it way different than my shoddy childhood memories portray it. it was really so cool back in the day, but I can't go back to it at this point. the sims 2 is honestly my favorite of all of them and I still play it periodically now (the superior sims game, imho), but it's so unstable on my pc despite so many patch and fix attempts that I can't play it for long without my computer trying to die.

My first sims game was also my sims kingdom for the wii! I played it all through my childhood (even though it took me literally five years to get past the cow herding level on the cowboy island lol) and I recently bought a copy for my DS because I can't take my wii when I move out. It's honestly one of my favourite games to this day because of nostalgia and it's the reason why I love those collectable figurines even though nobody else does haha

My first Sims game was Sims 2! But I must admit that I never really figured out the way Sims 3 worked, and then I kinda forgor about The Sims for some years, and suddenly a video of someone playing The Sims 4 popped up on my facebook feed and I got reminded of it and kinda re-learned how to play it (I was kinda afraid to play TS4 because of my experince with TS3) and now I'm all about the Sims hehe 🥰

Gosh... I feel a bit old...I started sims with the sims 1 and it had to be before I was 8 yo, because I remember getting sims 2 in 2004 for Christmas and it was such a huge development between these two games, CAS, children ageing, the whole genetic system... just mindblowing. I did not play sims 3, but I came back for sims 4... and with all my love for build and buy mode and CAS possibilities in sims 4, live mode gameplay in sims 2 is still the best I experienced in the whole series.

I first played the sims 2! My dad and siblings all played it, so I was able to play it too. I remember we had the Get to Work expansion for it and my dad made a store selling robots that his character made. I think I always just spammed motherlode so I could have all the cool items that I never used. Like the exercise machine that spins your sim around like crazy.
