Hey, so I have been in the hobby since a teenager but mainly focused on painting single models from 2015-2020 and a combination of army and competition peices since then. So since about 2015, probably around 200-300. but couldn't say from back in the day 🤔 Appreciate that's not much help, and personally while repetition helps, trying new things and learning from each model / unit helped most. What's your preference in painting, single or army ? Bw
@@TheMiniPaintingPage I got in to hobby mostly for game, painting always was second for me so I prefer armies. Grey minis make it difficult to see clearly what is what on the table. Which is why I still try my best painting smallest Termagant.
It's a good way to improve, it's depends on the goal 😀, I have been focusing on videos that allow approachable quick schemes to get bits on the table. Good thing about nids is because they are organic slight variation across models is explainable aswell 😀 Do you try new approaches from unit to unit? (Or model to model)
@@TheMiniPaintingPage Keeping the same theme for whole army, but from time to time I got to paint some which wont find themself on the tabletop. I experimante with new technics and mixed paints but its not like any of them looks better thanks to it.
Over time sure it will help 😀 Another option is pick a thing on each unit to try and improve on. So for a unit of zonethropes paitn them normally, but then focus on one technique like edge highlighting. That way your not stressing on the whole model but the one you choose your learn from and improve. Trying to make each highlighting cleaner or narrower. But anyway, finding myself giving unsolicited advice so will stop there given there are many other suggestions in the world. As long as its enjoyable (either the journey or destination) that's the key :) Bw
