I’m thrilled to share a project that has been on my mind for a while: transforming Mario from the beloved Mushroom Kingdom into a formidable Warhammer 40K Space Marine.
Join me on this unique kitbash adventure as we blend the whimsical world of Mario with the grimdark future of Warhammer 40K. In this video, we'll start by sourcing parts from various Warhammer kits, primarily the Space Marine Lieutenant in Reiver Armor, to build the bulk of our Mario Space Marine model.
We'll then dive into some detailed modifications, including weapon swaps and sculpting Mario's iconic hat using green stuff. We'll guide you step-by-step through the process, from assembling the model and performing intricate hand swaps to crafting a custom hammer reminiscent of Mario's in-game power-ups. Additionally, we'll create a themed base featuring elements from the Mario universe, like a signature green pipe.
Next, we’ll paint our Mario Space Marine, blending his classic colors with the Warhammer 40K aesthetic. You’ll see techniques for achieving smooth transitions, adding texture, and highlighting key details to bring Mario to life in his new role. This project is all about creativity and having fun with the crossover between two iconic franchises.
