You are watching my experience running the 2022 No Business 100-Mile Ultramarathon footrace in Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. I decided to add an extra layer of difficulty by wearing a business suit for the duration of the race, something I'm calling the 'ALL Business 100.'
The course begins in Tennessee, crosses the state line into Kentucky, and loops back around on some of the most scenic & picturesque trails in the southeast. I hope I captured a glimpse of what makes this race so special, but I know I could have filmed a whole lot more than what I did. This video could easily have been twice as long and packed full of beautiful trails!
People have been setting Guinness World Records while wearing suits in half-marathons and marathons, so I thought surely, I could run a hundo in a suit! I don't think I'm the first to run a hundo in a suit, I think Ed Ettinghausen might hold that title among many others. And Kerry Ward has a video where he did a fun suit-and-tie ultra at Burning Man. But I think doing this on a course like No Business in a 100-mile unique trail loop really added something to the ultra-niche category of suit-running haha. If nothing else, we have to keep trail running weird around here!
The running, filming, editing, all of the work that I put into this video is the cumulative result of a ton of training and practice. I'm not a videographer, professional runner, aspiring RU-vidr, none of that. I welcome your constructive criticism as I do intend to continue making race videos in the future as I take on new challenges. I want my videos to standout and be both informative and entertaining. I filmed this on my GoPro Hero 10 in 2.7k 60fps. I rendered it from Adobe Premiere with the same settings. It should look great on RU-vid on any of the 60fps settings, but it will look particularly good at 1440p. Set RU-vid to show the video at the highest quality and you won't be disappointed.
