My 30 years in automotive industry as a industrial designer, this is nothing short of a miracle company. Tesla or not, they have built an incredible brand. I hope we get more like this one in the USA instead of back looking ice clunkers.
China has a lot of miracle companies that have gone from 2nd rate to industry leaders in an incredibly short amount of time. Huawei with phones and telecom equipment, DJI with drones, etc.
I see an increasing number of NIO vehicles on the streets of Shanghai, though outpaced by Tesla Model 3s. NIO is the first Chinese vehicle manufacturer to have put efforts into building a brand, not just a car, and it's paying off. A large number of Chinese vehicle manufacturers have no idea of what branding is. Every model looks different, the grills look different, there are no distinguishing features on the front or back that make people go "That's a xyz car!" Their logos are often anonymous and weak as are their designs. NIO is very different on every front. They also have several westerners working on exactly these aspects.
@@adi-kr6sh he explained why Nio has a better branding than many other Chinese car "brand." Yeah definitely the CCP paid this person to say something good about branding.
NIO did what Tesla couldn't, just as Huawei developed 5G, which Apple could not. Huge growth for the company and for its early investors. NIO's innovation is a road to riches
How much did the ccp pay you? All this comment says is, "American companies bad, Chinese companies good, and I'm not going to say why". And huawei didn't develop 5g. 5g is just a standard for mobile communications that wasn't made by one company. Huawei was just one of the first companies to deploy 5g ready chips in their smartphones. Huawei isn't really a company to look up to since most of their products rely heavy on intellectual property theft from other companies.

Li Bin is a genius & knows the EV industry inside out.. He knows what he’s doing & where he’s taking this company. It’s only going to get better in 2021 & beyond for NIO.
I am a Tesla and Nio user. I Think the service of Nio is the best part of the brand. It's really a Life Style brand which no car company have done before.
Life Style brand?? What exactly does that mean? I like the company NIO, but drinking coffee and playing guitar doesn't have anything to do with cars. Seems goofy to me.
Damn, I am an international student from China and my home stay family asked me should they buy share in Nio in 2019, I really thought nio was a trash company so I told them no......

I think so, but they're going to be shot in the foot by their battery swap. The lack of batteries mean they're attacking their own growth until we have a surplus of batteries, something that won't be happening for a decade.
@@imdba3685 it's not a matter of country. It's a matter of production. You need at least 20% more batteries to sustain this model at a time when nobody, not even Tesla, can manufacture enough batteries to make enough cars. @@jerrylee3887 I’ve sat in and driven every model of Tesla. My friend just got the Y. Not saying its bad car, it’s definitely a great car but the interior is no where near Audi and even some higher BMWs. Its the quirks and autonomous driving that I like about them.
NOMI is slow who usually takes 1-2 seconds to respond...if you ask her to change lane, she sometimes says "I'm so-so scared, next-next time" then I have to do it myself.
@4:58 your chart is wrong, the Model Y starts at $52k in China, your chart says it’s almost $70k. That is a big error, you need to correct it. The Model Y is actually underpricing NIO, not overpricing it. That fundamentally changes the demand and market dynamics. PS - It’s also important to note, Tesla has just started selling the Model Y in China in Jan 2021. NIO has focused on selling SUV’s while facing no direct competition from Tesla in that space; that changes now. I think this fact is critical and it should have been mentioned in the video.
See? Think big, how many type of petrol cars are there? Model Y pricing will overtake more orders from them.. The SUV competition Tesla had Model X and lost... as many people can afford Model x, either brought both Model X and ES8, while others just bought ES8.. for those people cannot afford, Model Y is good for them. just like who couldn't afford BMW or Benz, then VW is also a car with 4 wheels.

Don't underestimate BYD. They build their own batteries. In addition to EVs they have different products, such as skyrails and E-busses. But what really stands out is the fact that they were able to become the biggest mask supplier on earth within weeks. Product diversity and change management will be important and could be a game changer. (And by the way, it's still the "cheapest stock" from the EV sector.)
I like BYD. It has their own batteries and chips, so not dependent as shortage and surging prices of these materials start to come up lately. It also cooperates with DiDiChuXing. It's a great move because ride hailing is going to be omnipresent when time move forwards. Not to mention they have good sales record so far, unlike most hyped stock/companies who have yet to sold many EV but the stock price already skyrocketing.

Nio will be a serious competitor for sure! Especially taking the difference maturity and already high quality deliveries. We are a big fan of both, and look forward to see what the future will bring!
Yes it is. In my opinion NIO will share market with Tesla in China, almost evenly. Over 90% of the Chinese population live in huge apartment complexes and similar buildings. Eventually self charging stations will have long waiting times. No matter how many you place. Wait time on a charging station in California is 1-2 hours depending on location/time.

That idea of battery as a service is dope. Chinese may not be great in coming up with NEW ideas but they are the best when it comes to improving on existing ideas.
Why do they keep saying Nio production is small compared to Tesla? That’s like comparing your self with a billionaire who started making money 10 years ago and you only just got your first million 1 year ago. Offcourse Tesla is going to out sale them, it’s common sense. Nio should be compared to other EV who just started around the same time as time, comparing them to Tesla is not a fair compression, the CEO already admitted he is inspired by Tesla, so Offcourse he understands the company has to crawl before it walks.
Nio is Nio. Tesla is tesla. Those consumers in China prefer Nio to tesla because of the quality advantage. People also believe that Tesla's quality flaws and cheaper are common sense in China.
NIO isn't the Tesla of China. It never will be. The business models are completely different. NIO is luxury, lifestyle and very customer centric flexibility.
