She sings like no one I ever heard before! Her voice is so versatile she amazes me every time! She's the only one who keeps giving me the chills! Mind Blowning!
Since this is the mic she got for her 12th Bday, and the same one she did several songs with Ivan Mendez, I would say this is probably Ivan playing, even though we can't see him. What a Terrific version of this classic song. I put it right up there with Elvis.
The preciseness of accuracy she has with every element is astounding and should not be possible for a child. On key, timing, beat, tone, inflections, vibrato, range et al. It is not natural to have such flawlessness.
There has never been a singer who can match her versatility of excellence in so many different genres of music. Whether it's up in the clouds singing a Whitney song, or down in the super low register she attains here in 'How Great Thou Art'.
Loved this reaction and analysis Andreas....thank you for taking our suggestions to review this remarkable cover by this young child. Much appreciation as always. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Andreas thank you so much for finding the time to react to Angelina again, I am looking forward to your reactions to her because your comments are pretty spot on. I feel like you would enjoy her cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game".
❣ **One of the most amazing journeys in my life, has been, watching Angelina Jordan grow** ❣ Loved your reaction, & was very similar to mine, when I first heard Angelina sing this song 😊 No matter what your beliefs are, I always find it so intriguing, that the singers, Lou Rawls, James Brown, & Luther Vandross, all passed away, within a year of when Angelina was born, & also, with her passion for equality, & love for all mankind, she was also born, within a year, of Civil Rights Activist, Rosa Parks 😊
Since this was still her adolescent voice, it's hard to tell from it. But hearing the low extension she had as a 12 year old girl and thinking of what she sounds like today, my guess is either lyric mezzo or dramatic soprano. But the typical female voice doesn't really settle into one of these categories up until around 25. Lower voices even later.
Her vocals are phenomenal. But for me, equally impactful is her phrasing and expressiveness. There is attention given to conveying a corresponding feeling and message per each word. Every. Single. Word. Wonderful ❣️ Just subscribed 😀
🙂I was here for your past comments about Angelina's low range. Good to see you explore her performance that pushes Angelina's low range to her 12 year old girl limit.
So many reactors mention how she is like Amy Winehouse, from my point of view she has covered many more Elvis songs and can certainly have his style of singing in some parts!
Hi there - away from Angelinas voice beauty and skill i do like she brings frensh people to enjoy and embrace the english language - when you are on vacation at any place in France try to communicate in english - nobody can or want to understand you - a young Norwegian child as ambassador of english language - there had to be a award for this - cheers from Germany
I love your analysis Andreas. I always come away learning something new. And it’s always a “win-win”… learning about singing while listening to Angelina. 🎶🖤👣
Brilliant reaction, analysis. This is astonishing, beautiful , and a completely unforgettable anomaly occurrence in pro singer circles. I cant even hit those notes with that placement with my 21” neck and beefy larynx.
May i suggest you React to Angelina's cover of: I'd Rather Go Blind By Etta James And its a Man World By James Brown Both are absolute fire 🔥 The best versions I've ever heard
Hello Andreas 👋. Thank you so much for reacting to this and all your awesome analysis (the nerdier the better). What an amazing break down. (Yes Ivan Mendez was on guitar). I know not many adult female singers could sing a whole song in that low key consistently all the way through. You should react to another low song (some think A2-B2) but a much faster pace and tempo, called "You make me feel so young", by Frank Sinatra, but she sings it in a duet type style. She dresses in the era of the song, hair and all. She’s 13 herel. (PS Andreas, will you please react to Laura Bretan's cover of "Adagio". Like I said she's not well known outside her circle cause of her genre's but her voice and character are amazing and she's also a Prodigy ❤). God bless you and your family 🙏 ✝️❤ 🙂👍. Again thank you Andreas for your time ❤.
Angelina can sing , she is music, this is absolutly amazing, for me the best vocalist ever on this planet. Acctually 17 years old and she comes better and better, she works so hard on her carrier, thats also fenomenal in this age, her discipline. 👑♥️🌹💫 a great reaction 😊🙏 thank you
Double congratulations, to Angelina for the beautiful performance and to Tè for the surgical review of a song with a rather unusual and very complicated tonality for the vocal cords of a twelve year old, but Angelina is not a common twelve year old and adds further intimacy to this iconic song song, thank you very much Andreas wonderful reviewer, good life and music...Massimo👍
I just know I like Angelina singing but when I hear real experts enthuse in an articulate way over how good she is it just deepens my admiration. Thank you, I just subscribed and look forward to further insights.
In this performance she was accompanied by guitarist Ivan Mendes. As happened in Angelina's tribute to Avicii with "Wake Me Up" in April 2018. The Video was edited.
Your reactions are as amazing as Angelina's singing. Your infectious enthusiasm, efficent and down to earth technical explanations even non-experts can appreciate are priceless.
I just love the way you always show us the contrast between Angelina's versions and others' versions! You don't just note it, which would still be great, but you actually have the clips and allow us to see and hear the comparisons for ourselves! It must take SO much work, and is so informative!! Thank you for these most brilliant reaction videos!!
As always, your reaction is rich with detail and sharp listening. Thank you, Andreas. Grandma Ellen, out. PS(I like the sort of rolling feeling from one note to the next.)
Thank you very much! I'm very happy that you enjoy my content. Agreed, re the rolling feeling. I find it is part of that typical phrasing she does on legato lines. It's familiar, yet very unique.
Again, a reaction video that is sophisticated, highly crafted, and delivers a deep analysis. I have seen this performance a number of times. Andreas significantly enhanced my appreciation of it with many of the insights he presented here. Excellent piece of work.
Great analysis! I learn something every time from your videos. Also, this is my preferred version of this iconic song that has been performed by many great singers. I love how toned down and introverted Angelina makes it, while still letting us share in her awe of the world’s wonders. It makes a believer of me, if even for only a few minutes… 😊
@@andreasgrussl I was just talking about Angelina with my Australian nephew who is visiting (and an amateur musician): we agreed on the beauty of the tone of her voice.. it's just so rich and warm.... I love it !
Are you able to travel in September? Live concert tickets for Angelina in New Hampshire went on sale a couple days ago. I know this would be far for you, by distance did not stop many last summer.
Thanks for the excellent reaction as always. Could you please react to John Farnham performing the song "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra? In Australia we simply refer to John as the "the Voice", please watch for yourself and see why 🙂, a truly amazing singer. Thank you!
Interesting reaction on Angelina. Thanks. Another artist that could be interesting that you reacted to is Aurora, she is also uniqe in her way of singing
Are you ready?? Angelina released her new EP with five new original songs. One of them has a music video. Appears to be voice over video, but I think you will find she has reacted a new level of both vocals and stage presence!! ‘Now I’m The Fool’: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8BXCVY_-RmU.html
Andreas thank you for providing the most clear and concise description of my exact feelings and thoughts on Angelina's music. I recommend these two songs for your analysis. “I’m Still Holding Out For You”. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Dv8mjCh5iiE.htmlsi=5Q-Go8a46UV-HbTF) Angelina recorded this in 2016, at 10 years old, and “Million Milles”. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3KxvwuZ7oEM.htmlsi=vqVBBu3_Br2q6HJK). Angelina recorded this original song in 2020, her first RR release. A wish for good health and laughter on this New Year's Day.
In the interview Alan Papier did with guitarist Ivan Mendez, Ivan said he did play on this performance and therefore we know Angelina was 12 years old. As always, Angelina gives us her emotional interpretation of this classic hymn.
I thought you went on a date to New City three Augres hello this is important password or anything email this to do this maybe most most man she got down the three I thought so I thought we need to, but I agree with a vocal coach better than any longer and I’ve been OK. This is almost impossible for any female. I’ve heard Basinger snaps and heard this before and they said I’ve been a Basinger for a mini years I have never seen a female, especially when the 12th they could get down to do three. Yes she did it lower than it was.
@@andreasgrussl indeed, and love your style of doing music reactions, focussing on the vocals but not missing out on delicate instrumental parts, pointing out key elements without getting too lengthy, nice editing without too much distracting background, dense and compact comments... never boring, always a pleasure to watch! Thanks! Liebe Grüße aus Bayern!
Now that she is 17 her lower notes are even richer although for some reason she chooses to avoid both extremely high and extremely low notes in most of her songs.
I think that strategy totally makes sense at that age. After puberty your voice is settling into its adult version. Which for most singers is a time of self discovery. Even if you already had good control before puberty.
It's his version of song she sang, in his key. And she assimilated his sound in many ways. Of course she doesn't have the track record of the King. But she's young.
AJ is very talented in that she , like Elvis, makes any song her own. She is a perfectionist like him and she is already known for her humanitarian actions. She is like an old soul and sings effortlessly. 👌💕
Thanks Andreas for the great reaction 😉 here the link to her version of Wicked Games: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5IAMF4FDfw4.html 👌🏻👸🏻🎙👣
Congratulations Andreas! There's no doubt in my mind that you're the best reactor on YT with your clear comments and your pertinent analysis. Especially when it comes to analyzing Angelina's covers. Thank you very much.
I think this is Ivan on guitar. That brief look she gave to one side before starting the second part is exactly how she interacted with Ivan at similar moments in a song. Probably this is another of those impromptu recordings they made with very little preparation, although Angelina is clearly familiar with Elvis' version.
Andreas if you want to hear her breath control check out"i rather go blind"she has a run of 14 sec.or so that deserve your comment..hope you take a listen.
How would you compare her to Diana Ankudinova? To me it sounds like Angelina is not breathy, but more out of breath while singing, whereas Diana naturally sings in this range and has horsepower to spare throughout her range.
Diana is a true contralto, so a low voice like you rarely find it. If you listen to Diana singing for instance "Human" in parts of it she nearly sounds like a baritone. To my ear Angelina is in between lyrics mezzo or dramatic soprano. She does have a low range, but it's not as beefy as in an alto voice.
It's precisely the fact that a singer who isn't a true contralto can sing so low that impresses me. Where is the "twitch" that a "true contralto" with an almost masculine voice like Diana Ankudinova can reach such low notes?
@@thierrymoore8016 reaching a note doesn't mean the singer can bring the tone quality to that note.. here AJ loses her tone quality a lot while reaching the lower note.
@@sahinberg I'm still impressed by a 12-year-old girl with a normal little girl's voice who try to sing a song in the same key as Elvis Presley in order to experiment and broaden her vocal palette. It's very difficult for a young girl, but she holds out until the end of the song. She wasn't entirely satisfied with the result, because a few years ago, as soon as it went online, she removed it from her site. Only to reappear on YT a few months later, probably on the initiative of a fan. This register is unnatural for her but I admire the attempt.
