I like Catherine's answer better. It may not be pragmatic if Sean were to die, but while you're in this present marriage, that's the way you should feel.

I think God is the only one that can satisfy your soul thereby being your Soul-Mate. Your spouse could be your Sole Mate.

This is old I know, but I agree with Sean because I've lived it. I was in a 9 year serious relationship(from 16-25) before he took his own life after struggling with depression. Our relationship was far from perfect, but I had never felt that "soulmate" feeling until him. He was all I had ever loved or known, and I truly did not think I would EVER even really date again. Fast forward two years later, and with a LOT of therapy and self work, I had a newly single(unbeknownst to me) acquaintance randomly pop up on Tinder and I fell in love again. It took me awhile to open up and I was scared so I fought it, but shockingly I did find another "person". We've been dating for a year and I don't think I've ever been so secure in a relationship. I still love my first partner, I just eventually HAD to let go a bit for my own sanity. Sean is right that it sets people up for failure. Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to give a perspective of someone who's had more than one "love of your life" :).

I agree with Sean. And I also believe we can make anybody our soulmate why? Is because as long that person treat you right and you two show love to each others, affections, read bible together, pray together, go on dates together, cook together, play together like kids, spend time together and so on... that person can become your soulmate too. But think about it...if that man or woman was your really true soulmate how come they broke up with you? That is something you need to ask yourself. I believe if you open your heart you can find just as much love and happiness with another man or woman. Love is a beautiful thing. Don't ever stop believing in love no matter how much you have been hurt. Remember God is love always. Where there is Love, there is joy, peace, and happiness and so on.

That is so true, from what I have been learning! God can use anyone to be our soul mate. He has someone in mind but he can use anyone he choices weather it is love at first site or wow they are never going to be my soul mate. And I don't think we should be worry about it to much just trust God and keep our ours on Him and He will lead us to them. We just need to be focusing on what he leads us to do and teaching the Gospel!

I do believe in the term "soul mate". I also believe that faith without works is dead. Like Jefferson said in his posting, we should be preparing ourselves, and allowing God to prepare us to be the one...that way when we find the one we're ready. My girlfriend (soon to be wife), met each other on 3 very separate occasions in life...when were teenagers, in our early 20's, and most recently in our late 20's. The first time I met her was in church, the last time I met her...was in church. We were friends initially, probably the best of friends. She knew all of my positives and negatives and I knew hers. We never gave the thought of being more than friends a chance until the last time we met. In terms of career, education, life experiences and life expectations, religion, values, etc. etc. we just seemed to mesh at this point. Had we tried to date as teens or in our early 20's I can almost guarantee we would've never made it. Neither of us was ready (probably to be with anyone considering the fact that none of our prior relationships survived with our respective partners). God allowed us to experience life separately on our own paths (good and bad), but gave us the wisdom to grow from EVERY one of our experiences. He put distance between us to grow us into a more compatible fit for one another before reuniting us. Don't just think you're going to just go out here and find THE ONE! A lot of work needs to be done before even getting to that point.

LOVE the new interview video with The Bachelor's Sean & Catherine Lowe! Love both their answers and how with this question it's more of a "both/and" rather than an "either/or" thing. What about you though? Do you believe someone can be your soulmate?

I do believe that we as humans have a soulmate, a man for every woman or man, a woman for every man or woman, but I do believe we have "Almost" soulmates. Which is a concept I thought of years ago which makes sense (to me anyway). It's someone you can live and love until the end. This was a thought I had when I asked myself what if your soulmate dies or you never meet then I said there must be something else which "almost soulmate" hit me. I think it's a idea I gave myself to make sense of early death but have grown to love it. But this is just me being me

I do think that God puts people in our lives that are soul mates. Not just our spouses. I truly belive that you can have a soul mate and it not be your spouse as well. I know may sound crazy but I think that God knows. I think that people make these big deals about their husbands and wives being their soul mate, best friends etc. I think thats great BUT Sean has a good point. If God calls one of the spouses home would you re marry ? Allow yourself to feel that love that God intended you to have. If you go through seperation and or divorce are you not to fall in love? My parents are soul mates. I think if you are with the person God intended for you to be with then I think that's your soulmate.

I believe that there's one person who is perfectly chosen by God to be your spouse. Wether you want to add the soulmate title to it or not.. I found mine 4years ago we have our ups and downs like every other marriage. But like on the other video, love means we are committed to each other and through Christ we can endure anything!

If soulmates exist, then if someone marries someone else's soulmate, that person could marry another persons soulmate and eventually the whole world would be without soulmates. Loving God is like loving your wife, work, commitment, passion and talking.

Like he said GOD puts people in our lives for a reason...I Already met my "Soul-Mate." the way I think of it is that he put my "Soul-Mate" on this hearth a part of me forever and we are connected...we will never separate from one or another. We are not bf/gf or husband/wife...we are just best friend friends...we were bf/gf's for 10yrs but, I think that is what made it special.

I think that if you find someone who loves God more than themselves, and you can be best friends as well as in love, they can be your soul mate. WITH THAT SAID, I believe that once you find someone who can do that, they BECOME your only. Once you are in a relationship, marriage for example, that person should be the only one you are dedicated to and treat them as if they are the love of your life, not as if they are just one of the options.

I believe that we should pray and ask The Lord if someone is your spouse....not rely on our own understanding. I believe God has that one special person for all of us and it's up to us to accept it or not.

I believe God orchestrates everything in our lives in great detail. Included in this is our specific mate. Not that they are perfect or that their sole purpose is to make me happy,but just that God has specifically and in great detail ordained two specific people to be joined together in marriage. Simple :)

I'm so torn right now. I know a christ loving girl who is so awesome and i really feel something for her. But im currently struggling with sin (like a sexual sin) and i am not feeling ready for a relationship. I also want to wait cause im really young and i believe i will change in the future. Married 3 years and thinking of divorcing my wife. 21 when we were originally married, and the stress of finances, fighting, and struggling have taken my desire to stay married right out of the window. I am currently 9 months out from completing grad school and hopefully we will have finances under control... however there is a Christian woman at my place of employment that is single in which I feel like I should have pursued a relationship with her, however I rushed things due to impatience with my current wife and walked right out of Gods will IMO. My wife would rather end our young marriage as well. Please, young guys considering marriage, take your time and be patient......

I am not really worried about all this, The only mate for my soul right now is Christ. I am only 18, and I want to enjoy being a kid still :D. (I like to think I am still mature enough to handle life.) But it is good to be in a godly healthy marriage, where there is communion, union and community. Marriages point to the way Christ designed them, how and why they are the way that they are. Sex is a sanctity within marriage, and thus should be treated as such. ***** I've loved what you've said about not searching for the one, but rather try to be the one. I strongly disagree, especially with advice coming from a "bachelor." I believe God has your life planned out for you, and you should trust in him. If he wills for you to get married, he will bring that person into your life in due time. I don't think you should date around like a "bachelor" would....

I disagree with Sean, entirely. A person who is completely vulnerable and honest with themselves, can connect on a soul level with someone else who is completely vulnerable and honest with themselves. And that passion won't die, because those two people are completely open to each other. Sean and Catherine don't seem to be that way. They aren't on the same page, Sean is afraid to be vulnerable and Catherine is insecure about herself and therefore idealizing him and his thoughts. That's why they can't be soulmates. That's it. It has nothing to do with faith. If anything faith in God should inspire a security in self to be completly vulnerable to another.

These two have only been married for a year... this type of advise should be given by people who have been married for 20+ years have kids and went through hard times, they are always on every Bachelor show etc.. come on man. Talk about soul mate crap in 10 years more believable

One comes away utterly confused by the conflicting views they express. They don't seem to agree with each other and don't reach consensus one way or the other. AVOID
