I also can speak with a British accent, not just American accent. I love both accents. 🇺🇸🇬🇧I can spell the words in British English or American English. Basically, it doesn’t matter for me. When I go to the UK again, I can speak with a British accent.
In the public schools in Spain, English isnt taught well, all courses start teaching the verb to be, the list of irregular verbs and basic vocabulary. Speaking isn´t taught in depth and exchanges/trips to Anglo-Saxon countries are made. I didn't have a full conversation until I was 25 years old and where I felt comfortable. In fact, I know more polyglot Americans than Spaniards who speak English. According to official data only 25% of Spaniards speak English fluently. And in my immediate family only I know English (american english, of course, the best)
If you can learn the grammar it will help a TON - that’s the biggest challenge to speaking English so well that we wouldn’t notice you aren’t a native speaker. (For example: I AM watching from THE Dominican Republic, I AM learning English.) You got this! ¡Puede hacelo!
For Spaniards English language speaking is something like an environmental and aware of English language however British English is very good and well-suited for Spaniards 😅😅😅
I enjoyed watching this video, it was marvelous. ☺️ You did a great job mate! It was interesting to see how Spaniards speak English in Spain and I have to say I was impressed. People speak English quite well in Spain. I wish everyone could speak English in this world. Btw, in some countries the majority of the population speaks English very fluently and it makes me happy. If you visit Norway and the Netherlands you’ll be surprised how good people speak English there. In fact, people speak many languages and this is so cool. Well, speaking about myself, I am bilingual and I only speak two languages fluently English and Russian. I know many people would say that I am from the USA because I have an American accent, but I am not from the USA. I am from a small Baltic country and those who heard my accent thought that English is my first language and no one would believe that Russian is my first language because everyone spoke that language in my family and it was the first language I learnt and when I was a teenager I learnt English and I have a native level of English now because I can say anything I want, I can talk a lot and write. I use native slang, idioms and etc. Of course I dunno everything, but no one can know everything even in their own language and I’ll be honest even Russian is difficult for me because there are so many words I don’t know and I’ve never used them in my life. When my grandma tells me about different Russian words, I don’t understand cuz I’ve never heard of them. If Russian will use the words I dunno, I won’t understand them. In my opinion, the most difficult languages are Chinese, Russian and Arabic. Though I speak Russian as a first language, but sometimes I find it difficult to fully express all my thoughts and therefore I always think in English and all my thoughts are in English. When I forget some Russian words, I can’t remember them and I can say these words in English, but unfortunately Russians will not understand me if they dunno English. Moreover, there are only some Russian who are fluent in English and in Russia English isn’t widely spoken unless you meet foreigners. My particular interests are Acting, modelling and teaching English to people. Maybe one day I’ll learn some languages in the future. I speak some Spanish, but at a conversational level and another language the same, that’s it.
Love these videos It may have a better format if you had like an iPad under the camera with the photos so that y'all arn't facing down most of the video !
There you are. They do speak good english. As for english people speaking other languages that's another story. We all know at least one famous english person who lived in another country. For years and can not speak the basics.
I live near the capital city Islamabad. I am from Rawalpindi. I no in cleanliness Pakistan has got poor record. Pakistani food is quite amazing. You will love it. We have biryani rice and also pulao rice. Then we have chickpeas.
Sorry but we don’t have the LL sound in English, same with Madrid. We don’t say madRÍD, we say Madrid 😎 I know a lot of Spanish speakers say LonDON with an O sound at the end but it’s LonDUN with the schwa sound. It’s just how it is when you speak your own language. In Spanish I definitely say paella with LL sound 😁
los españoles no tenemos el deber de aprender inglés ... es una lengua extranjera de aprendizaje voluntario ... como el francés, itamiano, alemán, etc ... los ingleses se permiten el lujo de venir a examinarnos como si fuéramos una colonia suya .... Gibraltar extendido a toda España ....
It’s just a unique way to teach English to my audience, while at the same time offering locals a chance to practise their English. It’s just a bit of fun, I’m clearly not implying that they HAVE to speak English. Nobody in the video took part that didn’t want to 😎 please chill out 🥲
En mi opinión, aprender más idiomas es muy bueno y puede que tengas más oportunidades. Inglés es un mejor idioma en el mundo y otros idiomas también muy hermosos.
Nobody forces another person to learn a language if he doesn’t want, but why some people are against other languages? I can’t understand that and how can they not like English? It’s just ridiculous and doesn’t make sense. Stupid people, I hate those who against others. I mean, languages, cultures, religion and etc. Other people just disrespect other nations and etc. I can learn another country’s language and it’ll be good for me, but I don’t force others to learn my languages.
@@InstantEnglishUK The reason it's called a dummy (you said in the video you don't know why) is because the word 'dumb' nowadays means stupid, but the original meaning is linked with an inability to speak, which is what happens when you put a dummy in. Deaf people used to be labelled with the offensive term 'deaf and dumb' for this reason.
0:01 any Spaniard want to comment on his pronunciation of paella?? You can't let a Brit enter your country and question your skill of knowing his language and at the same time butcher yours 😂.
Your sample is not representative, those spaniards are performing like top 10% in the country, average level is way lower. 😅 Worcestershire should be a banned word. You can't simply put a thousand letters and pretend they are not there. If you want funny results, you should ask for "pronounciation". Ironically, it's hard to pronounce. Pacifier is a dummy name. Sounds like an american brand of shotguns. Hey, did you get the new Pacifier 3000? It comes with extra 5 shells capacity, much better than the old 2000 model!
As a fellow Spaniard (who is also an English teacher) I can confirm what the commenter says. These people speak waaaaay better than most spaniards of the same age range
Spain is not known for flamenco, people from Spain are not Latinos, they are Europeans, people from Mexico, Colombia etc.. are South Americans, there's a big difference between Spain and Spanish speaking countries in South America.
1. No solo tenemos Paella 2. No a todos nos gusta el flamenco. 3. Preguntar solo en Madrid no vale, es insuficiente. 4. ¿Y vosotros sabéis hablar español? Bye!!
