I love this amp, even the cleans can sound incredible if you dial back the mid's and crank the highs! I usually keep the mid's at about 10 o clock now anyways and leave the treb at 1 or 2 and it sounds so good!
I have an OR15 and it rips, perfect for small gigs too cause they get LOUD! Trying it on some bass cabs to see what happens and does a prety good job as a dirt punk'y bass amp!
I have a vintage Marshall JMP and a first generation Mesa Mark IV(A) and I still use my OR15 the most, mostly because it's my live amp of choice, given that it's so lightweight and still plenty loud enough to play in an unmiked venue and compete with a full band. Ive upgraded the tubes to some NOS tubes but I just use it a clean pedal platform. It has a character that I prefer more than the Mark IV's clean, but prefer the JMP over both, however it plays with my pedals very nicely, and the fx loop is helpful. From my searching and demoing it may be the best amp in its price/watt range. Very impressive amp.
That perfect Stoner/Doom sound, fat and juicy with the right amount of filth... It sounds a bit filthier than a Rockerverb (I've got a Mark III though, would love to compare it with a Mark II...) and it's also got more gain than my Rocker 15 Terror... And... It makes me want to get one hahahaha ! Holy gear gods, GAS is so neverending...
I played a OR15 for the first time in the studio cranked up with a couple other amps. Been on my list ever since! Love me a low wattage head. Would love to play one with my Marshall Origin20..
Almost pulled the trigger on this and other variants of orange stuff but found the gain very fat, bassy and fuzzy, I decided to get a prs mt15 instead for the tightness in the gain channel I prefer but don't get me wrong sounds good in an orange kind of way👍
Looks like you 2 just need a drummer to make a great band! 😁 The OR15 is one of my favourite Oranges, like it more as the lunch boxes. If you are happy with one channel - just buy it, it really does the big sh.....thing.
Have heard some ppl had trouble getting as loud as the drummer, but it was a different amp. but 15 watts. And I am not sure about how cabs would differ...
It‘s louder than the Micro Terror, but still only reasonably loud. Depends on the Gig, if you‘re miced no problem, but without a PA i‘d say difficult, since you run out of headroom fast. Unless the space is not that big and the drummer not brutally loud. Thats my experience with it driving a 1x12“
@@TheGuitarGeek first time we 'kind of agreed" 😂..but i like your channel you are "real" not just commercial driven content, thats rare these days on YT, cheers 💪🎸
