CAN'T BELIEVE nobody told me about this sooner! | MAMAMOO - 'Killing Voice' UNEDITED Vocals Reaction 

A lot of people tried to use the vocal editing of this video to diminish Mamamoo's talent but like all the Killing Voice/Verse videos have vocal editing. One thing that differentiates Mamamoo from other artists is the fact that they know how to tweak their in-ears for each performance and understand how each type of microphone affects their vocals. It seems so simple but more idols than you imagine just show up to work and do exactly what they're told, even when it comes to vocal performance. That's a shame because there are so many idols who can sing well but don't sound like it because of the lack of training with sound equipment.

I never knew this version of Kiling Voice existed! I much prefer this over the edited one. They should release this for all of the artists! I love the rawness and imperfections, adds more character/color! Thank you for your reaction! Don't stop the lip syncing or the ad libs! They show your enthusiasm and genuine joy!

I love this raw version mustly because the sound of Moonbyul's voice. For me, the edition made some changes (idk the technical name), but seems more "metal" ?? I dont even know how to describe lol but its different for me. Alas, they are awesome, true vocal queens

Mamamoo vocals don't even need very much editing. I kind of wish they would just release an "official" version and a "RAW" version for every performance like this. Most people, (including myself but I am getting better) confuse what is pre-recorded, live, and Raw recordings. I think its partially by design of the industry to keep people uneducated about it so they can just tell people its live (not really talking about MAMAMOO). I have seen people utterly convinced that a group is singing live when you can literally see their mouth out of sync with the vocals or not mouthing it at all. There is nothing wrong with lip-syncing or having help from autotune; especially if performing some kind of choreo. Its virtually impossible to sound perfect while dancing. I just wish companies/groups/music shows were more transparent about what they are doing because there really isn't any shame in it. Its almost like fans now hold singers to a much higher standard than what is reasonable because people don't actually know what live vocals sound like, and this would help to eliminate that misconception. Like I would listen to the RAW versions first out of curiosity, but on re-listens I would always go back to the official versions most likely.

I didn't know about this either so thanks for reacting to it. Moonbyul killed it and I love how she sounds in this mix. Solar and Hwasa benefited from smoothing out their dynamics, which I assume was done via compression. I never really liked how they processed Wheein's vocal track in the edited version. Compression and reverb are normal but they did something else to thicken her sound. You can't obscure how good she is but I prefer her voice as raw as possible. Why would you add an artificial sweetener to honey?

Wow I really can’t tell much difference between this and the edited one. This just feels more like they are singing right in front of us. Glad to know that this version exists and enjoy your Mamamoo reactions as always! Have to attend these four queens’ concert at least once in my lifetime.

I love this version better..they sound more real and I feel more present. The polished ones are great and neat but this unedited version makes me wanting to sing.

I don't believe that this version was "accidentally" released at first. The raw audio would have been recorded in four tracks, one for each mic, and probably a fifth micin the room for ambience. Those tracks would have been edited and then mixed to stereo for sync with the video, which would have been the final version that eventually was released. This version, with the raw vocal tracks mixed roughly together the the musical track at lower volume, would have been produced quickly at the same time as the session as a rough reference. There's no way someone with any level of experience could confuse the two and "accidently" release this. I suspect that someone at the company wanted to release this for a short time and then pull it, to create an "underground" version to show off the members' raw vocals. These Kpop companies are way too intentional to make a mistake like this. It's brilliant, actually.

This is why they say Mamamoo eats CDs. I was most impressed by Hwasa and Moonbyul because, beside the volume (for Hwasa), they sounded pretty much how I remember the official upload sounded. I'm not a music expert. Just my opinion based on what I remember. Of course Solar and Wheein had to put in the most effort for their parts, but they still sounded great.

They are flat out one of the best live groups ever. Simply amazing and I hope they do a big world tour and hit a lot of cities. they are loved worldwide.

thanks for reacting!! it's really interesting that vocal editing is equivalent to photoshop in creating unrealistic standards--the fact that they were so close (but of course flat at some points as non-robots are) really just shows that they be flexing on us. Yea, I think something I noticed is that while moonbyul's range may be "limited" she is super precise :3 and solar is too strong xD just much powerful. wheein, I feel like her raw vocals truly feel like airy and light, idk man. hwasa be slaying it, sick or not. anyways, hope youre well!

I watch this version a few times and they are very good with their raw voices that’s why I like them. They are not afraid .

And I thought I saw every mamamoo video. This is why I enjoy reactions, excellent find, which I would never had heard if it wasn't for the reaction video. There is no doubt mamamoo really is at the top with the best of the best.

This was the first version that I listened too and I was never able to find it again.

I was the one that posted about this on twitter and it started to get attention! I love this version a lot, especially for hwasa and byul -- someone had mentioned that whatever post-production filter they used must be for sopranos because it made hwabyul's deep voices sound robotic/pitchy in the edited dingo video. However, here you can hear their full, richer tones. I only wish this version was in higher quality! Hopefully an HD version of this will surface on the internet one day.

Hwasa was somewhat ill and depressed due to the death of her beloved grandmother. still sounds great

Apart from volume Byul's rap was perfect, Solar's volume too and some flats same to whee and a bit of out of tune and lastly I actually love this raw version for Hwasa because they really did her bad with the edited one the volume is just not it too,but i still prefer this than the edited one. This is my own opinion and I'm not a vocal teacher or anything related to knowing stuffs about music.

the thing that bothers me the most about unedited vocals is the difference in volume. that drives me insane akdjskjdjs other than that, i like hearing the imperfections in live vocals. i wish all "live" vocals were mixed just enough to even then out, because a lot of people have no idea how much editing actually goes in these performances.

In this video you notice the vocals are more in the foreground.and music is slight in the background.

Having four mic's so close together, each with a separate track must have caused some headaches for the sound guy, you would have thought that there would be sound bleeding onto adjacent tracks. Brandon could you drop a link for this vid please. Searched for it without success.

I was going to scold you for tricking us to watch the same thing in just worse graphics quality :P but holy smokes, Wheein sounds so much better in this one to me... The only one I can hear the difference in is Solar really. Girls belts three times louder than necessary and as it is so loud the couple of faults come out. Also that one Solar-Hwasa adlib over Wheein's singing at 5:45 was really melded nicely in the edited version.

Wheein's and Moon's live were goood/ Yeah Solar and Hwasa had some struggles. But anyway love that they always singing only live when performing in any event. Just respect!

It's crazy but through but i find through this that moonbyul is the most stable of the 4. Hwasa and wheein don't have strong enough voice and rely on the editing to make their voice louder. Wheein was the one who seemed to have the best voice in the edited version but it's because she's practically whispering. At least solar takes some risk even if she doesn't hit every note right. Hwasa and wheein are made for studio singing. While moonbyul and are strong. Even though when you hear hwasa at their begining her voice was stronger and amazing but she is always doing the most with her voice going very low or very high and o saw many people say that that would take a toll on her voice with time if she doesn't do it right. I don't know if it's because of this but she almost doesn't sing in her solo concerts lately and relies on the backtrack lately..... So sad.
