I'm 47. Been a Nikehead since the around 88 and I'm one of those people that just stopped giving a crap cause I was never able to get anything I was interested in so I've given up and like you said I don't even try.
Very much the same I'm 42. Stopped even looking about a year ago when I got burned out of missing out on drops, raffles and every other bs thing you had to do to try get a pair of shoes.
i’m 40 but probably being a bit more tech savy i had some success in the years, never paid resell and i have a solid collection, kd never been my taste btw
@@heartbreakzel back then I would only wear LeBron shoes cuz he was my favorite player. Now I wear shoes that are more comfortable and lightweight like WOW, GT Cut 3s, Kobe’s, etc
It’s also about kids these days have WAY more options than in the past. Back then it was basically Kobe, Bron, and KD that dominated the basketball shoe market. And you’ll have the occasional young star get a shoe like D Rose. But these days you still have those 3 players’ shoes in the basketball market and plus MANY others. And that’s not even considering that kids these days are spending more money on retro Jordan’s and other shoe brands and hyped clothing.
This is what all us genuine sneaker lovers and collectors have been waiting for … these casual resellers must have had their credit card bills due, now we can get 80% of what we really want

In all honesty most of the Jordans, Lebrons, Durant's Etc... are really easy to get. I can get anything under retail now which is awesome. True OG, I've been buying and wearing Jordans since 85. Now is the best time to be buying I've never been one to follow hype and I wear all the sneakers that I buy 🤙🏾Great content as always!

I love that you consistently call every Nike insole a piece of sh*t lmao I really wish they would at least offer their own in house options. You should have seen my face when I realized a recent New Balance buy had a pair of Superfeet insoles in them. Iirc NB even offers aftermarket insoles of their own!
I truly wonder if Nike can build new shoes to capture our attention again. I used to love going to Nike towns. The showcases of new tech shoes and matching colorway apparel. Now it’s all retro, if they would add updated tech to older shoes, (protro-ish) that would justify the price increases
Skateboarding, some track, bmx, and soccer was what I watched. I love that skateboarding is an Olympic thing now. We just need to add vert as well. That way it’s street, park, and vert.
I was in my sophomore year in high school when these first released. Now I’m 29 and was able to cop them with ease. So glad to have these even tho the “hype” is gone but I’m still happy to have them.
I thought they were going to fly, that's why I paid extra to get them early, oh well better safe. Did the same with the Foamposite International blues from Europe. Didn't want to take any chances taking any Ls. The Foamposites are ridiculous in hand,, extremely close to the 97 OG, beautiful!!!
Since you guys answered my QOTD I'll share my favorite Olympic sports, a few days late 😅. Basketball, with the exception of 3x3 (just felt strange to watch), swimming, track & field (USA crushed it this year), gymnastics, and skateboarding. Jodi mentioned not enjoying archery and I used to agree with her, until I saw a fan video of the competition. The accuracy for the distance they're shooting actually quite impressive!
Used to only hyper focus on basketball at the Olympics but now Ill watch any sport thats on when I turn them on, but my favorites (outside bball) have become swimming, track & field, and gymnastics. Something about preparing years for a seconds long performance, thats usually individual focused really gets to me.
Anyone else wear the originals and had injuries because of them? I remember getting the OG’s for a summer basketball camp and the blisters I got and the amount of pain I was in from the originals made me hate the model, I did purchase these and I’m glad they fit a bit better 😅
The mention of all the plastic on the shoe reminds me of the 1st trainer I bought unknowingly thinking they were fly - called Trojans. To this day the worst shoe of my life and they were just full on plastic even the outsole. I struggled destroying them to get new ones 😭😭lol
I got the all black KD4s way back, and I regret not getting the white and blue ones. They were light and great to play in but I do remember a lot of pinching in the toe box after prolonged play.

Without a doubt, my favorite Olympic event has to be purchasing (over) hyped sneakers. It may only come by every 4 years, but it's always a truly exhilarating surpwhen I come out on top. but srsly, I was stunned when I found out I won these in an EQL raffle. I'm very happy to have them.

I saw these at Foot Locker yesterday and I too was shocked they were there. We are in an era of "clean" colors so I think that also plays into how these ares selling.
Copped these on footlocker. Just had to, i used to have the KD 4 Easter, my first "hype" sneakers. Unfortunately, I won't play in these since I still have the kobe 8 and 4 but It would be cool to keep these displayed to remember good times in high school
I was so excited for these and then I tried them on. The forefoot and underfoot cushioning were abysmal at this price. AE1 lows have them beat on all counts, for example.
It's wild that a lot of extremely hyped shoes from a decade ago aren't really sought after. Like sitting on shelves lol. I appreciate it, cuz you can find Big bang Lebron 9's and South Beach LeBrons for under retail (wild statement if you lived in that era). Hopefully I can finally grab the travis scott shoes a decade from now at an outlet.

I’ve said this before, that breakdance events were meh. Seen better performances from people on the street. And the characters dressed up with all that gear to compete in marksman and that dude from Turkey just shows up in tshirt was awesome. Would love to see American gladiators make a comeback lol and Mrs wing is right, moving targets would be a better show of marksmanship

And figures now that they're back and as accessible than ever, I'm going through my worse financial crisis in my life and I haven't been able to buy shoes for years. Now just about all of my shoes out soles are worn down to the point I can barely walk to the grocery store anymore.😢

Thanks to resellers all of sneakers I want are now affordable af because of their abusive and over bs thing they've been doing for the past years on stocks etc. Though they hurt Nike and Jordans and other brands so bad but real heads are thankful for them lmfaooo I was able to get the trio kd 4s finally
I grew up with my soccer cleats, basketball shoes, and track spikes being 100% plastic. Basically just walked around with blisters all the time 😂 Kids these days would die if they had to wear those old joints.

And I’m glad Nike has increase production and also have rumored to put out more of the coveted pairs we could never get….resellers will be in the comments claiming it’s the economy why shoes are sitting when really we just don’t wanna deal with resellers and finally Nike is listening.
I was in my mid 20s when these first dropped and I wanted them so damn bad so I doubled up. Personally I’m for re-releasing grails (ie undftd 4s, stussy and Tiffany SBs, stash am95s etc) so I can actually own and wear them. Like you said Nike had shot themselves in the foot by using the limited release tactic. You can only string people along before they don’t care anymore. But nostalgia is a commodity.

Its great being able have enough pairs per drop to cop theyve been doing good lately there . The problem is they're releasing everything so often so back to back average people like myself can't keep up with buying every drop and I am an avid collector. Instead of dropping 3-5 awesome pairs a month now there doing that in a week its insane especially in today's economy. They need to make ample pairs for everyone to get each drop like they're starting to but still only do drops 3-4 a month or even less like they used to so more average Joe's like me can be able to get them. I used to buy 3-6 pairs a week but definitely cannot afford that right now. It's going to be going down to about 2-4 a month now. They're just dropping to much back to back to back. Between nike sb jordan and running shoes like air max and what not.
I started a new job at a 911 dispatch and during the down time we would have the olympics in the back groubd. The 3 on3 basketball was cool and volleyball gets intense. My girst year giving the Olympics a true chance because same i would only watch the basketball side of things.
I swear nike made me stop caring until i hit for the reverses, the venice beaches, AND the girl dads all in a row. And they keep dropping the prices on the lebron 21s i got like 3 pair now, like 70$ a piece

I saw a video that Hasbro had them at the SD Comic-Con but still available, IMO is good that stuff is sitting in shelves more opportunity to the people that really want them and if they hit discounts even better.
I always watch the mens basketball and mens swimming (especially when Phelps was still in the olympics). USA mens basketball was playing like it was the All-Star game this olympics and thats not a good thing. The world is catching up in skill, they need to take these games seriously like its the NBA FINALS if they want that gold. And breakdancing was just hilarious. 😆😅🤣😂
