In 2019 my friend Chris and I decided to bike 2000kms across Vietnam, from Hanoi to Saigon. Neither one of us had any real bikepacking experience, but Chris and I share a love for adventure and slow travel and we knew one thing for sure: we both wanted to take our time with this trip. We were there to experience the country and explore - not just be on bikes but use the bikes to get to places we wouldn’t have found ourselves in usually.

Thanks for these movies, guys. Reminds me of my good old days cycling in Vietnam in 2016, you caught the spirit of the country from the cycle tourer's perspective pretty well. Can't wait to see the other episodes, starting in 3...2...1... cheers!

I used to live in Guangzhou, me and three others took a night bus with our bikes to the border of Vietnam and cycled a 10 day loop up to Caobang and back. Truly amazing countryside and people. Those mountain climbs are intense! I definitely want to get back and do route similar to yours, hopefully later this year.

Great video. I lived in HCMC for three years almost 20 years ago so this brought back some good memories. I can't believe the price f the bikes though. I pay more than that just for a pair of pedals! Well done lads. JP the old guy
