Nothing I hate more on TV than these type of exploitative shows where enforcement officers turn up to reclaim cash from people down on their luck and the TV producers hope it all kicks off like they're filming wounded animals backed against a wall Good target then JJ 👍
@@Beastgrows there's probably more dodgy landlords out there than dodgy tenants, but neither side are going to be 100% perfect i guess Its just the punching down mentality of these shows is the issue I have a problem with. The landlords aren't even seen in these shows, just some unseen benefactor when the tenant is the one we have to watch struggling for entertainment Not pleasant
UK landlords have been hoarding houses since the 80s artificially inflating rent making it near damn impossible for the younger generation to own a house in the 2020s
@@Beastgrows I imagine that's a very tiny %. I know for some landlords that will be their only property, and possibly their main income, but that's not really what this show is about. Sitting the enforcement officers down and then setting up the camera in the hopes of filming a massive Gotcha!/argument is scummy TV.

I used to work in the benefits office and you'd see people with Netflix subscriptions, an Xbox etc...but then you realise that's all their entertainment. All they can afford is to sit in front of the TV every night, and the cost:entertainment ratio is very good.
Exactly, to people like that, every luxury of a poor person seems to be reprehensible, and everything that goes beyond the most abstract need - be it in the realm of passive enjoyment, or a manifestation of activity - seems to him a luxury.

@@jamie150741 it's called "Can't Pay, We'll Take It Away" and while I disagree with a lot of it, there are some cases where people are absolute assholes and is completely there fault there in debt.
Just James's videos are the only ones on the internet that can make me cry with laughter. I used to watch them with my friend before he moved away, but he always sends me the link when a new video drops!
I heard they tried to barter with a vial of plasma and a signed Russ Abbott album. Didn't work, and they even had to cough up the 50p for renting the sirens.
Someone’s gotta do it. Imagine being in debt yourself because somebody refuses to pay you money they owe you, you’ll be begging these guys to go and collect it
@@levelofsnipes7378 no, I just rearranged a more manageable pay back scheme. I would never want filth like that terrorising them and stealing sentimental items, that are then sold ridiculously below the going rate.

There's times in life you think it's the worst thing to ever happen to you, but sure enough you overcome tee issue and life begins to look good again. Things can get hard, but there's always someone you can talk to, weather it be someone in your personal life, or a professional over the phone. I'm not sure where you are, or if you can reach certain numbers from other countries, but I've been so thankful to talk to professionals over the phone and be able to talk to someone about things I wouldn't want people in my life to hear. Always know there is someone out there who appreciates you, like o appreciate you being so sweet even though we've never met. There will always be a reason to smile. I'm happy you found something to make you laugh and take your mind off things 😊

yeah, sadly a lot of people watch this kind of poverty porn in the uk. people use it to feel better about themselves but in reality most of us are only one bad month away from a similar situation.
