Thank you so much! I have huge amounts of historic shoulder tension, lack of mobility, Forearm RSI and asymmetrical shoulders - these have brought such lovely relief 👏🏻
I have a very stiff body because of 2hich , every year I get sports related enjury while cycling or running. I'm 45y and so fed up with this , I have decided to go full on stretching for 6months atleast to make myself less injury prone. I'm going to follow u and I hope ur videos help me to achieve that. I can do this shoulder strech on 1 side very easily but not from other side. Not surprised lol , Will do stretching for 1 week and let u know how it goes.
This is incredible. I was lacking internal rotation in my right shoulder and for the first time since a while I was able to touch my hands behind my back
Any racket sport or club players out there, we know how much a tennis ball under your lat or rotator cuff hurts. I used to go to an osteopath, my muscles I’m told are like wrapped wire, the poor guy also told me that my pain tolerance is super high so he had to work for that £80 p/h.
Jesus bro my shoulders are so trash right now, I knew there were bad as I'm doing PT right now for my shoulders but dear god I tried this and it was so bad.
OH MY I just did the upper mobility exercise and it almost brought tears to my eyes (in a good way) I usually stand against a wall and roll a tennis ball around to loosen up my bad shoulder but laying on the floor and reaching back made SO MUCH tension in my neck/base of skull release. It was extremely challenging but so worth it
I cant really comment without assessing you for myself, but clinically it has the potential to create stiffness in the joints and tissue around it, which could be a limiting factor.
Every time I place my left arm on my lower back and my right arm over my shoulder, my hands are 3 inches apart. However, when I reverse the positions, placing my left arm over my shoulder and my right arm on my lower back, the gap between my hands is significantly larger. could this excercise be benficial for me when im trying to reach my hands behind back
@@YourWellnessNerd so do you suggest i watch this video and then try to imrpvoe my skill. I am dping it everytime i try to achoive flexilbiry od my shoulder
Really great content, really heplful video, I'm gonna try these until I reach my hands behind my back, it's gonna take a while since I have shoulder and scapular mobility issues. P.S. It's a great channel but you should (and I don't know if you have already) address the sound and mic problems. it's hard to hear what you're saying, maybe a lapel mic or changing the acoustics of the room I dunno, either way, great content keep up the good work!
I'm 56 and I've been doing this for years, I was just wondering if anyone else did this I was going to make a video. But I see that people are understanding and doing this . I've been doing it for over 25 years I just naturally figured this out. Years ago.
Help, I noticed my left shoulder is completely fine and I can reach it just fine when my left arm is below.. However, I'm in complete pain when my right shoulder is now below and I can't even reach it from the back... my scapula is a bit droop down but I'm not really sure enough..
This was really informative thank you however I am noticing even after the exercises (which killed on my left side!) That I am able to clasp my hands when my left arm is overhead, I can also use my right arm alone, angled up my back to literally grab hold of my right shoulder blade, so the flexibility there seems fine but when I try switch i cannot even get my left arm to reach as angled up as my right shoulder nevermind my left like I could with the other arm, nor can i reach to clasp. I hope that makes sense? Do you have any ideas?
Great video. When trying to do this it initiates a really intense cramp in my shoulder somewhere. Weird though because I am an ex gymnast and have good shoulder mobility but I do have a lot of pain and tension in my neck and shoulders. Any idea why I am getting these cramps when going into internal rotation? I feel like this lack of mobility in internal rotation may be something to do with my pain and tightness in neck and shoulders.
Hey Matthew! I cant speak to your specific experience, but in general cramping has a lot to do with underlying spinal dysfunction. Id be very interested if you could a few stiff/tight/tender spots at the base of your neck/upper back!
@@YourWellnessNerd yeah that’s interesting because on days where my neck is sore or stiff I have a lot of tender spots all over my back and shoulders. On days where my neck is feeling normal I have almost zero pain so yeah it’s defs related to my back/neck. I’m working on it! I’ve also recently been diagnosed with Hypermoblity Spectrum Disorder which partially explains my shoulder instability. Thanks for the reply you’ve gained a subscriber!
I definitely need to try this. I have no trouble with the over head one but can’t for the life of me get further up with the bottom arm. Same for both arms. But I’m chronically stiff in the areas you pointed out, so I guess the why is obvious. Hopefully this helps, thank you!
Only treated how to enhance for the arm that going on the top. I can reach far enough with both arms from the top. But i can go very far with my right arm under and left on top. I feel pain very soon in the right arm
I definitely have high expectations for them. Like any areas that are tight, the path to permanent change requires things to become loose and also to fix the reason why those areas became tight in the first place!
