The Inspector understood that the parking sticker is too dark to see at night, the Judge does too, but he didn't put the blame on the Officers or on the woman, it's all very friendly and how any court should go.

Was she driving? So long as she wasn’t driving I have no issue. But if she still has a license but can’t even move enough to put on a seatbelt, she shouldn’t be driving.

If she is medically incapable of putting on a seat belt I question if it is safe for her to operate a motor vehicle.

If you have a medical reason that prevents you from putting on a seatbelt because it's hard, then you should not be driving period.

If she has a medical reason for not wearing a seatbelt, then she should not be driving. Her arthritis in her hands would prevent her from reacting appropriately in an emergency. Plus as a firefighter, I don’t want to see her thrown from her vehicle

I encountered a judge alot like him, twice in Mesa, Arizona. The first time was on a trespassing charge that I won, it was a very funny situation that the judge and gallery had numerous laughs over. The second time, was for a handful of traffic tickets, that involved a fictitious plates charge. I plead guilty to all other charges, except for the fictitious plates charge, I plead no contest. It was at that point the judge stopped me, he said I might not want to plead that way. The judge explained that for the prosecutor to prove this charge, he would have to have proof that I either put the plates on the vehicle or that I had knowledge that the plate on the car was incorrect. I had bought the car at an auction that was supervised by the state. I changed my plea to not guilty request a trial. The prosecutor declined to proceed with the charge and it was dismissed. The judge was even lenient with the fines on the remaing charges 👍 I've found that just being up front real and honest with the court goes a long long way. The judge has heard every excuse a thousand times before you, don't waste their time or patience, you'll come out ahead.
