Yes its such a blessing to have a judge who's 100% not impartial who gets into her personal life upbringing and how things were done by her mother to her and brothers something ao irrelevant yet she had no tolerance to listen to any mitigating circumstances about other people telling them when and how they should have children not everyone is finnacnaly stable there is no law against having children so she has no right asking people why did you get pregnant why did you have a child no sorry she's merely part of the shameful judicial system this nation has which every other nations is making fun of because American refuses to follow suit of western and Eastern European nations that have reformed not punished the citizens look at the economic impact the crime rate Most these nations do not even have guns qs they're not needed cruel unusual punishment is all i see
@@StevenAdams-zj8tx Well said. People seem to care more about "throwing stones" than rehabilitation. And then tax-payers foot the bill. And the "restraint bias" held by armchair quarterbacks is very prevalent. And too many people get their jollies hoping that prisoners will get beat up by other prisoners which is unconstitutional under the 8th Amendment (not to mention the 2003 PREA Act). And when people "pay their debt" to society they are set up to fail and struggle to find housing or employment when background checks are conducted. And that's not to mention how "jail culture" affects people's minds and often just makes them "better criminals" instead of any semblance of rehabilitation.
@@StevenAdams-zj8tx I am from Western Europe, and i can promise you that i truly look up to how the American justice system has dared to stand by their values of punishment. Meanwhile, we over here are putting vile violent criminals back on our streets way too soon (if they should have been let out at all), and have refurbished our prisons to function like hotels. Some criminals self admittedly reoffends, just to get back in for a little vacation. I am truly ashamed sometimes. And Judge Boyd has her own way of conducting herself and running her courtroom, so does every judge. I find it very human when she takes some extra time to talk the defendant, often about important life lessons. She could easily have been one of those who didn't give a crap, and just wanted to get it over with...
@@TheMiczzz im talking about 10yrs 25yrs 99yrs 100 yrs or life without parole for money crimes weather it be insurance fraud imbezelment ponzi scams they over sentence non violent criminals its extremely disproportionate the us government will give you a life sentence for tax evasion were a murderer has gotten 20 18 some even walk for turning states evidence when they can get a conviction on both people the one we planned and the one who killed without testimony or offering full immunity so as long as they make sure that the public is poor they don't hand out proper sentences non violent crimes should never get lifeot 25 years there is absolutely no rehabilitation its all punishment horrible punishment
@@TheMiczzz your not a human being once your in police custody i stayed 10 days in jail for a traffic ticket that was 105$ i forgot about they got me at dawn from a hotel in vegas in those 10 days your feed food not fit for a dog.much less a human being this nation has the most incarcerated people of any other nation on non violent crimes costing tax payers 1.9 billion a year for prisoners on crimes that should not even serve a sentence for tax payers paid billions in the war on drugs but whos letting the drug into the country the border patrol the us D.E.A ,is part of the cartel they let the drugs in than turn on them do a raid on safe houses were there is hundreds of millions of dollars and drugs do you think all that goes into some evidence room? Ut goes straight to the ones who raid i known many D.e.a agents because they were lovers of mine who told me this and also how 1st responders on crime scenes have taken expensive Jewelry right off the murder victims and never turned up in evidence? So the system is completely corrupt oslow Norway has the best prisons for non violent crimes its simple people who committed traffic infractions should not spend 18 to 24 months behind bars being treated worse than cattle that 1 prisoner instead of paying a fine for a few hundred has now costed tax payers over 1 million on that 1 person? How does that system work the government state local sales tax your giving up 85 to 90% of your salary. Whenever the public is kept poor under draconian laws crime rates go up not down it has an opposite effect
This young man had hopes he was walking out of the jail after being a habitual offender, beats on children and has the most arrogant demeanor I’ve ever seen!! He really thought that saying, “ I object! I reserve all rights your honor…” was doing something! 🧐. Do the crimes do the time even if you try everything possible to not be held accountable….
And that sentence isn't the end. He's on probation for another crime and that too, will give him more time. Hurting a child? Time should be consecutive, not concurrent.
I agree...it seems in too many Courtrooms in America multiple sentences are given to run Concurrently. IMO a large percentage of the crimes AND the criminals should be given Consecutive sentences. When given these Concurrently running sentences it feels like they're getting away with their crimes. If you're facing 3 10 Year sentences to run Concurrently you may only serve 7-8 years for 30 years punishment 🤬 I understand jails/prisons are full...blah blah blah. It's not fair to the Victims of the crimes. The criminal is happy but the community and society are not being represented justly. Just my opinion 😉
@@PAMELAPORTER-ci7mr How much are you willing to pay in taxes for disability for victims, the cost of the devastation caused by criminals, higher prices from shoplifters and so on?
I'm not satisfied with the way I'm being represented... Off the record...back on the record... Are you satisfied with the way you've been represented... Mmm...yes... Yeah...he can represent himself... sure...🙄
Why did State wave the habitual? He is habitual, so why would you wave it? Aw, though he has the cutest braids, just like my 3 yo has. Hair on the defense attorney (2nd case) is SO country-80s it hurts.
uncooperative witnesses and complainants are generally why the state waives things in order to encourage defendants to take a plea. i don't know if it's true for bexar county, but there's a systemic issue of backlogs in american courts since covid and trials chew up a lot of time for obvious reasons.
The hair on the second case defense lawyer! If I chewed gum as a child, my dad would say expectorate that chutty, I.e. spit out that gum (Australian slang).
Lawyers, please stop lying about your clients' claim that they "accept responsibility for their actions." We all know that nothing they did was their fault.
Honestly, American prisons don't help inmates to better their lives. I was watching a documentary in Ireland about how their government helps inmates with a trade for the betterment that changes their lives and gives them top-paying jobs. And they never return to jail.
Prisons are money makers that’s why they do not rehabilitate anyone their objective is to keep people in prison and when they’re released they reoffend because they’re not equipped to handle the outside world and that’s what prison does for these people
That is another attorney who shows up in judge Boyd's court with his tie undone and looking disheveled! Such disrespect to the court! I don't know why she accepts it!
Number one is soooo clearly a thug...got that defiant smug ass posture 😖 The attitude that no matter what he's gonna do whatever the hell he wants. He presents himself as dangerous and I believe he is. Should have gotten the 25 years.
Several years ago there was a huge scandal involving coerced Plea Bargains where DA's would threaten huge jail time if the Plea was rejected by the defendant. This scandal appeared to be a systemic issue with examples seen coast to coast. As a result, they now (as anyone who watches these court cases can confirm) go through every part AND make sure the defendants know what is happening, the consequences for taking a plea, confirmation that no plea was coerced, etc. In some cases, especially if there is a lack of intelligence, education deficits, cognitive damage from drug abuse, there is a possibility that the defendant may not fully understand. But none of this applies to the 2nd case as he is articulate. Thus, its just buyers remorse.
I used to work with a slightly autistic guy who rocked back and forth like that whenever he had to stand up in front of people and talk about anything. He'd even twirl back and forth in his chair when he was thinking, which we could all hear because his chair was squeaky.
I would love to shadow Judge Boyd for a day. She is compassionate but she will do what she needs to do to help protect her city. I wish we had more like her, especially here where I live.
I did not see any explosive emotions or anybody losing it other than that first gangsta dude looking high as a kite and mumbling I thought Judge Boyd was nice and respectful during the court hearings. Did I miss something? Boyd and Simpson are my two favorite ones on here.
9:00 I wanna know who that animated silver fox is behind the dopey defendant and his greasy lawyer. He's back there waving his arms around like he's calling base runners "SAFE!" at the plate lol.
The second is just playing dumb that he didn’t understand BS he understands he just doesn’t want to go to prison for 10 years he needs to go to prison alcoholism and drugs
This man is so offensive i can hardly stand it! He is incredibly arrogant with his nose in the air! He took control by making the slow answers from the judge! Makes me crazy!
Dear god what is the Court dress standard in Bear County? The state of dress of some of these lawyers is a disgrace. He looks like he had a dirty stop out the night before and strolled from there to Court. Is he also chewing gum?😡😡
