It may hold two less rounds, but for concealed carry I like the shorter grip length of the Hellcat. If shooting iron sights I like the U-notch set-up of the Hellcat. Perhaps not as long range accurate, but they help these old eyes pick up the sight picture faster. The extra velocity with the Hellcat is also a bonus, as is the lower price. Both good choices.

Sig X “comp” Macro = $820 while the Ported Hellcat Pro is about $620, what a wild price disparity, pretty easy choice for me considering that there was very little difference between these 2 tbh lol with the extra $200 saved I’d just swap the trigger out and get extra ammo for the hellcat

I have the Micro Dagger C1 with the green slide/ black frame. It’s a decent, reliable pistol. It’s hard for me to notice an advantage to the comp’d slide. It is very versatile too, as I bought and assembled a custom 43x slide setup with a comp’d barrel instead of the comp’d slide of the c1. I also slapped a Shield SMS2 Optic and a CMC trigger. Well I'm already a big Hellcat fan since I do have a Hellcat OSP in my carry rotation, and have had it about 3 months and I put over 1,200 rounds through it at the range and not a single Jam and have gotten pretty good with it for a micro pistol, so the Hellcat already gets bonus points with me and while I have shot sigs, I have never owned one. But I've already seen a lot of reviews of both and most of the reviewers leaned towards the Hellcat Pro Comp. I'm sure I'll get one one day hopefully in the near future to replace my other carry gun that I carry going to Big stores.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions on better velocity with the longer barrel of the Hellcat. Having a P365 as well as a P365XL I would choose neither. I also have a Shield Plus 4" ported barrel that shoots like a dream, as long as you don't have an optic on it. Having an optic creates 2 problems: 1) Carbon fouling of the window, & 2) A huge increase of stovepipe malfunctions as the empty casings bounce off the optic back into the chamber. Both problems are due to the placement of the optic right over the breech face. The oval grip of the Shield Plus really helps create a tight grip on the pistol better than other pistols & the porting helps about the same as comps to suppress muzzle rise & felt recoil. Accuracy is noticeably better, most likely due to its superior trigger, fiber optic sights, & grip shape & texture of the Performance Center model. Shoots similar to my CZ P10C (2nd Gen) which I also have great respect & love for.

Big fan, really like your content. With all the new ported options out for carry guns, do you think you could do a side by side comparison of a couple ported/comped and non ported/comped options to show the difference of sound level at the ear? It might be great to have a nice shooting ported gun for practice and follow up shots, but if it makes your ears bleed is it really worth the potential of damaging your hearing.
@TheHumbleMarksman

it's really challenging to capture and convey in a visual context. Even the DB meters I've used haven't really adequately conveyed the felt experience of one versus the other. In general - comps aren't as loud as ports but comps are louder than a traditional barrel.

The shop didn't have a Hellcat Pro comp, so I went with a Hellcat Pro with threaded barrel and bought the external comp like the RDP has. I can't really justify the P365 Macro Comp price. Paid $665 for the HCP and the comp, I can't get the P365 Macro comp for less than $825. If I add a Holosun the HCP will cost a smidge more than base Macro comp. With medium to smaller hands the grip is pretty good for me to get the proper hold, and I like the slightly longer barrel.

I already have a regular HC Pro and thinking about doing the Springfield 4.4 inch threaded barrel with the RDP comp as well. I’m convinced the p365 “integrated comp” slides only exist because Sig is trying to make use of all their old short original p365 barrels that are likely over stocked. No one wants the originals anymore so they had to find a way to still sell them.
@TheHumbleMarksman
@TheHumbleMarksman Месяц назад
it makes sense from a manufacturing perspective - they are already making the shorter barrels - but they get added functionality with the new slide. It's not as robust as a full length barrel + a comp or + real ports - but it does work as advertised - whether it's exploitable or not is another question that I try to answer in another video I did recently - bottom line is all the ports and stuff do is provide a little stability when running at the limit - it won't make you shoot better.

Hellcat, all day, for a wide variety of reasons, not the least of which being that velocity difference. Also I hate the "slide comp" thing. It feels lazy, sub-optimal, but if you don't think about it it makes sense, and some people think it looks cool. Also having shot several hellcats and several 365s, I shoot the hellcat better, I like it better in the hand, I like the trigger better, etc etc etc. in short, IMHO the hellcat only lacks the grip modularity, but honestly it doesn't need it because it's a better gun in every way, AND it's cheaper.

I've always seen the Sig comp as a gimmick. It's a 3.1" barrel. Yes, the cut slide diverts gasses up, but there's no additional barrel to continue to stabilize and guide the projectile. And what about lead fouling? Horrendous? I'll take the Hellcat's comped hammer forged barrel over Sig's slide cut comp. Plus all the Hellcats have the best grip texture of any edc pistol IMO.

Have you ever tried Tactical Triggers Inc kit for the P365s? I really like their little sear spring mod as well as the overtravel shim (but it’s pricey for tiny springs and a little slice of metal). I think the Macro is more comfortable but the shape of the HCP grip indexes better for me. Sadly, I think both are a hair large for carry (for me). So I stick to the 365X and CR920P or smaller (except for when I’m feeling fancy and carry my 80x, sometimes even with a 32ACP barrel/mag).

Try the Wilson Combat grip module for your 365x. They make 2 different sizes for the Macro as well, and they will all work with your 365x. You may need to buy different mags/ swap base plates though depending upon what size module you want.

The Hellcat has a real compensator, the short barrel and kinda sorta slide compansator of the Sig shouldn't be as effective. Neither does it produce the same bullet velocity nor the same redirection of gasses that the real compensator does, given the same slide length. Also, slowing down the slide is kind of a meh idea in my oppinion.
@TimGrefer

Cutting a hole in the top of a barrel is not a "real" compensator at all lol. Nice try though

No but it is real porting which is more effective than an unbaffled single chamber comp. Never thought I'd see the day I defend springfield 😂 @TimGrefer

Best advice. Use it. Master your grip. Work on being target focus. Doesn’t matter if you have a 500 or a 5000 or 8000 race pistol if you’re grip, focus, understanding of it works. Practice practice practice

200+ price difference between 2 very similar Pistols is key plus the extra velocity from the Hellcat is important with hollow points. Range ammunition to spicy said no man ever, your not a Blazer shooting Dad.

It’s time to put the p365 series to the side. It’s overpriced and has a few cons, more so than the pro. It seems the hellcat pro surpasses the x macro and will be considered the winner.

@@TheHumbleMarksman sorry for so many questions but how would you compare the recoil of the hellcat pro comp to a gen 5 Glock 19, and if you have any experience with it how would it compare with the Mossberg MC2C?
@TheHumbleMarksman

No experience with a Mc2c - but a wider gun with a longer slide will flip less than a skinnier gun with a shorter slide. A shorter slide will usually flip more than a longer one.
