@@hokulele393 Of course he should wear what he wants but that outfit wasn't for a one and done ceremony, that was only the first of multiple outfits for a multiple day Hindu wedding. But I'm glad he got what he wanted and the bride was able to comfortably compromise and make it work.

I'm glad he didn't just back down like most husbands would have. It shows he is not a coward and will stand up for what he believes is right. It's so annoying when a mother is yelling or arguing with her child when she is clearly in the wrong, but the father doesn't want to jump in, so he just agrees with the mother or stays quiet to avoid conflict. It's so cowardly.

according to others in the comment section, besides the fact that he just decided on his own to up the budget, the outfit was too fancy for the event. This is not the wedding ceremony outfit but a pre-ceremony. He will need a more ornate outfit for other events and is already spending 2k on the first one. I wish the consultant would have at least mentioned this. Why could they have not figured out how to make this an outfit for a different ceremony?

I think many of the comments are missing the point about the first segment. They have a budget and they hadn't discussed a customized, very ornate piece of clothing for what will be a one-time wearing (I assume). Yes, he loves it and he looks handsome, but they are a team. They need to discuss money matters beforehand and be on board with their budget: both of them. This may be a first red flag for the marriage.

The peach looks really go on him. It's amazing how much it brightens his complexion, compared to the beige that washed him out. Generally, husbands-to-be could care less about the wedding so she ought to be grateful he wants to be involved about clothing relevant to him. Also, this peach color would look very well next to the traditional bright red if she chooses that for herself.

If you think she could have travelled to India with her family and bought a half decent lehnga let alone a sabyasachi lehnga at that price you need to get out of your house and see how much things cost.
@cookiesarelikecream
@cookiesarelikecream 5 лет назад
Preety Bajwa ok it’s still the same if you buy something on the lower end of sabyasachi. 2 lakh rupees is $2888 USD. If she wanted to she could have gotten a sabyasachi for 3 lakhs which is around 4000$USD. Obviously most people can’t afford the higher end sabyasachi stuff but with their 5000$ budget they could have gotten lower end stuff. And yes there’s the flight cost, but they could have gotten everything at India including jewelry and stuff for cheaper, and they could stay with relatives. Uber is cheaper in India too. I understand though that people want the convenience of shopping in their own country. I’m just saying Shia’s dresses are overpriced for their designs and styles. When one of my relatives got married recently she bought a sabyasachi wedding dress and theres a big difference in the handwork and style. Alternatively there’s also slightly cheaper designers in India who are well known, it just takes a bit of research.
@cookiesarelikecream
@cookiesarelikecream 5 лет назад
Okay Okay see my reply to the other girl (Preety), where I lay out the price differences. Of course you can get a half decent lenghna from India! India is where the designs and trends are MADE. You just need to do research before you go and get in contact with the well reputed shops and designers. Sometimes good designers can even remake sabyasachi type gowns for cheaper. Again see my other reply for the price difference for sabyasachi, and they can easily get less well known brand lenghnas that are more than “half decent” from India. Clearly our perspectives differ because I have many relatives who have gone to India to get their wedding outfits because the stuff here is outdated or overpriced for what you get. So don’t talk to me all condescending saying I need to “get out of my house” when I know what I’m talking about. Girl bye

The salesman's job is to serve the customer and give them what they are asking for, it's not his job to think of solutions to keep the peace between couples. That's THEIR job. And he didn't push to convince the bride at all; in fact, just the opposite. When the groom gave his final decision to go ahead with the peach, the salesman was still asking the bride if it was ok with her.

Beautiful dresses, but I could never wear them because the tops are all cropped and show too much midriff. I am Apostolic Pentecostal for one, and we don't believe in showing that much skin; second I have a very visible surgical scar down my middle and wouldn't want to show it

Nope, if you're attending an indian event, it would be considered thoughtful and respectful to dress traditionally :) especially if its a wedding

@@pamfink4052 This store seems to have a lot of short blouses and very limited style. You must also remember that most of the people who come here are Americans who are of Indian heritage, so their style is slightly different from what we actually wear here. We usually wear more conservative, especially for religious ceremonies.
@charan7384
@charan7384 4 месяца назад
@@pamfink4052you could actually request for more conservative tops where there is longer arm sleeves or a full covered top and not one that is a crop top. There is 2 or 3 episodes in the future seasons where the bride's have gotten something covered but still look as amazing

The outfit does look amazing on him. But the reason the bride was not for it is because that is firstly not the wedding outfit, more like a bachelor's night party but with guests from both sides of the family. It is also not the reception outfit. One thing people in the comments overlook is that the reason there is a budget is because you're supposed to find something that you love within your budget as well.

Damn that last dress was actually gorgeous s I do wish the top was shaped a bit differently like more of a sweetheart rather than a v neck. But that’s gorgeous, but still too overpriced to be 4000$ compared to what we see with sabyasachi

I'm not sure if you're in the Indian culture sir/miss. But the event that the groom wore that to is more similar to a Bachelor's party but with all the family members joining. It is neither the wedding outfit nor the reception outfit. The bride had every right to make sure the groom stayed in the budget as they also have Haldi event, the wedding itself and the reception event to get outfits for. She also had every right to make sure he stayed in his budget as if he didn't he's going to have less money to buy the other events outfits.

The couple in the first part of this episode, the bride is so dominating... she wants all her dresses customised but doesn't want her groom to get a customised sherwani and let him be happy and feel special on their wedding... c'mon, weddings are not only abt the bride...its equally abt the groom too. I feel sad for him...he had to struggle so much to convince his to-be bride and the bride's friend to let him settle on the sherwani he really wanted.
