@@zarfen No worries bubba. I'd say you're even above Emilio and Amplisa if there ever will be a contest for best anime protagonist in the Loot Goblin Universe.
Loot Goblin be like "Let's go gambling! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *all resistances* hmm...nah let's go gambling again! *poison resist* Aw dang it! *poison resist* Aw dang it!
At first I wondered why you didn't choose a necro; all points into curses would have provided so much utility, but then you got to Duriel and I remembered how much extra damage act bosses do to mercs. You really do have to take all the hits like a good mercenary!
Mercs not being able to wear additional gear like rings, amulets, boots etc. is why I like to play Reimagined. Only thing I don’t like about it is that HRs drop waaaayyy too often, takes away some of the fun of grinding.
Yeah I saw some mods that allowed for more merc gear which would have been really fun for this, but I also wanted to use the base game because I don’t know how familiar my viewers are with mods and such.
Amazing challenge. Btw, because of you, I have started playing HC in the new season of PD2 and am learning a lot compared to how I ususally play of just corpse running.
I always watch your videos, but this time, I was doing chores and just listening. Up until 5 minutes before the end of the video, I thought you were calling her Aunt Lisa 😂😂😂
Amazing video! Now I want to see all mercenaries. :D I think getting them later is fine because even for act 5 merc there’s still 2 full difficulties ahead.
Can you make video on conversion necrodin? Basically the idea is to use only conversion, and treat your converted monster as your army, and boost them with your aura, heals, curses, and all the buffs you can find in the game. In short playing paladin as necromancer. Assassin also has similar skill but, paladin seems more viable for necro style. Edit: you are also allowed to use summoning items which has necro, druid, and even Amazon Valkyrie charges. You can have your army of whatever you can find, but your army will only deal with monsters not you. I have to add this one because if your converted monsters die in boss fight that would be hectic for you. It's quite a easy one for you compared to the challenges you have already achieved 😅
@@LeoReo88 how would such a character deal with act bosses? iirc converted monsters are on kind of a short duration. Fun idea but seems very difficult. I don’t think I have ever used paladins conversion skill ever!
@@zarfen I figured much, but I just added few things in my comment. I know it's a silly play style but will be fun to watch a paladin played as necro. You can also play this as build guide video, it doesn't have to be a challenge video if it's not viable that way.
There's a glitch where when you have mostly poison dmg on a weapon.. the other elementals dont do full effect. its a glitch thats been around forever and was never fixed, thats why the new bow is so much better.
Kyoko is my girl. Leveled her from act 1 normal on my smite pally all the way up to end of hell. Paige and Blaise close 2nd and 3rd. Also this is a great series. Hope you do the other act mercenaries too.
This video gives me PTSD from when I unintentionally (and recently) did this challenge, after deciding to try the Abbot build for the pally...🤦♂ Great video though, a usual! 😃
even with top of the line gear, faith in sup 15ed +3 skill gmb, eth sup 15ed ap forti and eth andy with ias/fireres jewel she is still rather shit. using her with that setup on my bowa.
After seeing it all, i can't help but thinking that putting all your gold farming time in the tower to maybe get lum/pul to get an Elite Kuko might have been the best power up Amplisa could have gotten. But yeah RNG could still have been a douche. Really liked this epic journey.
how come u have so little life? Prolly the lowe lvl right? And why u didint upgrade Kuko? The video kept me at the edge of my seat all the time :D awesome challenge.
Yes and I invested in max block so a decent amount of dex instead of vitality from that (and later on too much str because of poor armor choice) I would have upped the Kuko but iirc it requires both Lum and Pul to up exceptional to elite, and I didn’t have either of those runes Thanks, glad you liked it!
D1: playable character D2: mercenary D3: D4: playable character What’s up with D3? (Though I guess they could have called Demon Hunter a Rogue and I’d accept it)
Prudence in a NON eth ornate plate?! I really don't know what were you thinking there Zarfen. 😳🤯 (It's an underrated runeword by the way, i really like it and it's stronger for resist than it seems)
D’oh! I talk a little crap about it in the video but it served me well. Hindsight analysis here but especially since I was at the resist cap, the high MDR on prudence was one of few ways to improve my elemental tankiness further.
@@zarfen What i also didn't understand, why didn't you go for better merc weapons/helms. Mainly speaking about runewords. Sure the elemental damage helps, but 60 average lighting damage in hell isn't much, almost unnoticeable. You could have make a deriliun for her for the constant confuse on striking and terror on stuck mods what would have helped her quite nice (I don't know how the transformation would have effect her though) For weapon's i truly didn't understand why don't you go for a Harmony or Insight.
Hmm, good idea! Didn’t think of that while playing but considering I was tanking so much, some Weaken charges or something would have been useful I think
MF on your main character works for (your) mercs and (your) minions, but not the other way around and not between players in multiplayer or anything like that.
It deals damage to all undead and demon enemies (act bosses are all demons) so I would have to be very careful to not accidentally cast it on an enemy. Seems tricky
Maybe, I can’t really tell you. Curses are great, but I also wanted to be a tank and even if I went hard on bone armor I think necro would have struggled a lot with that
I've played this game since it came out in the early 2000's and I can safely say, a Rogue can 100% beat Diablo 2 and LoD. I hate the meta builds, so I often grab myself a Rogue since Necros can't have ranged skellies (thanks Blizzard) and some characters like a Paladin or Barbarian really benefit from having ranged support. Give the bitch a good Edge Bow and she'll shut down even the toughest of bosses easy. God forbid you give her Insight or anything like that, she'll be a one woman wrecking ball. [EDIT] - Something REAL good about D2 is also that you can upgrade weapons and items. So say you have a low-tier unique that is REALLY GOOD, you can upgrade it using the cube to make it even better. Worth having for a niche run like this. All the love Zarfen, love this game. [EDIT X2 - Post Harassment] - So I spoke highly of this content creator and community for a fair bit. Hard to find fun and good D2 players and content creators, but after having a comment deleted and being dunked on by some folk, can't say I like it anymore. Good luck in the future.
So, Skeletal Mages arent a thing for you? Or do you just not consider them ranged even though they spit at distant enemies? Also, your language suggests that you're not a man of culture - mind your manners...
@@novocainDaimon The fuck? I'm a huge fan of this channel and I love Diablo 2 content mate. I was literally talking about how it's possible with the Rogue and gave ideas not only to Zarfen, but to anyone else who wants to play this wonderful game. This game got me through middle school when I was relentlessly bullied for just existing as a poor kid in a rich neighborhood. That said skeletal mages are notoriously bad summons and are often considered a waste, especially in the modern era of Diablo 2 because they simply don't have the reach, range, AI or power to deal with most threats (especially as we get into Nightmare and Hell considering the massive amounts of immunities you'll be facing). Combined with the lack of durability, they're kind of weak. Most Necro players don't bother with them even as dedicated summoners as they'll just die due to being off screen or being hit once by anything post Normal. I don't know what crawled up your ass, but thanks for being an asshole I guess?
This one definitely tested my patience, but the funny thing is I’ll have forgotten all about that until the next time I get an idea for a grindy challenge 😁
this has to be the most impressive and yet dumbest challenge anyone has ever done in d2.. holy hell.. reminds me of this dumb passive zone build which is essentially just being a valkyrie summoner. but valk is actually the strongest minion in the game if you max her and her synergies out and she can in deed do everything in d2 herself. just that it takes forever..
