Sadly the Gayle Bradley 2 is not in stock in all of the places I’ve checked, I would suggest looking for them on the secondary, they’re not that hard to find.

I love my GB2. M4 cuts forever. Patina is killer after 3 years. I used a dremmel to make access to the liner lock more accessible. Great video 🤙🏻

Do you Dremel the scales too? I'm thinking of doing this to mine

@@Phaminator525 Hello, no I just dremmeled the steel liner to expose more of the lock bar for my thumb.

The GB was designed to win cutting competitions, sure shows.

The gb2 is an awesome knife with issues that show up with use. The detent ball eventually flattens out, the sharpening choil needs to be extended towards the edge, the proud liners need to be chamfered, the lockbar is overly hard to get to, and you have next to no support if you need screws, washers, clips or anything else that is needed. Mine still has great lockup but the engagement has traveled a lot considering the use. The m4 rusts but it just seems to want to be sharp. I think they ran it pretty hard, it’s crazy the kind of edge I can keep on mine, it’s dangerously sharp. The gb2 is an amazing knife and may have the best blade of any folder ever but it’s not gonna last 1/2 as long as a crk without getting pretty run down.

Nicely done bro. I really love the GB2 but you totally sold me on the Sebenza as well, great video.

Excellent review, I really appreciate your thoughts on how a particular blade grind can affect ergonomics during more demanding cutting tasks

Thanks a lot for this one. I just hope you will not get too much hate for this one ... I agree of the profile of the back of the handle on the GB2 (the same is the case for the GB1 I got just recently)

I was thinking I would get a little hate from CRK fanboys if they just watched to first few minutes of this, so I tried to be clear later in the video that I was not talking down on the Sebenza and the Umnumzaan, I was really talking up the Gayle Bradley 2. Anyway, thanks for watching

@@itsaknifestyle8482 coming back to this - it would be awesome if you could get your hands on a Cold Steel American Lawman in CTS-XHP (has hollow grind compared to the current version in S35VN which has a flat grind) - I would love to hear your opinion as to how it compares to other larger knives with a hollow grind that you have tested already.

cute dog! You might have mentioned it but I didn't catch it...edge angles? You talked about thickness behind the edge and I really appreciated that but I'd also like to know the edge angles if you still know them... Thanks!

I think it would hav been better if you took "behind the edge measurements" of the 2 CrK knives. I always assumed they were more "hard use" knives and not "slicers". So, better compasrisons to the GB2 would have been knives like the Spyderco Police 4 (iirc has a behind the edge thinness of .0016)....or is it .0014? )....or various Kizer knives...

U should do these tests with a scale like Joe calton. Then u can see how much pressure your actually using

The lack of access to the lockbar tab on the gb 2 kills it for me. Fantastic knife otherwise.

That was a issue when I first got the knife but then I either got used to it or I only really started opening and closing this knife whenever I used it, so it wasn’t that much of an issue for me. Thanks for watching

mr. jinks I think you’re making a mountain out of a mole hill when it comes to accessing the lock on the GB2. To say it kills it completely is ridiculous. The GB2 was designed specifically for winning cutting competitions, and it shows even in this little cutting example. I will say that M4 will hold an edge longer than the S35vn with all things being equal like quality heat treats and similar edge geometry.

Great comparison! Have you noticed any excessive lockbar travel when making really hard cuts? I have observed hard use resulting in a temporarily deeper-than-usual lockup on my old Millie, probably from flex in the handle. GB2, having somewhat stiffer liners doesn't show as much extra lockup% when doing hard cuts. Still trust my beloved Millie, but do you think the flex could become an issue long term?
@itsaknifestyle8482
@itsaknifestyle8482 3 года назад
I haven’t noticed anything with the GB2. About your Millie, the lock face is curved so I think that when the lock bar moves over, it is not moving that far over. Another thing is that the military has been out for so long that I haven’t seen this become a widespread problem, so I don’t think it’s been an issue for many people. Overall, I think that it is not the best thing in the world, but I don’t think it will be that big of an issue. Thanks for watching
