So you never answered if it can replace the other one???

Hey Christopher! So after 4 months I can say that for my use, the TP series cannot replace the Signals unit. Having the WiFi feature on the Signals along with their free cloud service to track cooking times, temperatures, and exporting graphs is just too good to walk away from. Plus the Signals unit also controls their Billows which I like having the option to use. If anything what could replace the Signals unit is ThermoWorks' own Smoke units which incorporates the long range options in the X series, or I can get the original Smoke series and also use the WiFi adapter. But as of right now, I just use both the Signals and my TP27. It has been very reliable with excellent battery life, but for my longer cooks I still use my Signals.

Nice review👍. Your production quality is on point, especially for a small channel. Keep up the good work.

It's funny, I have had a TP27 for a while and I have just bought a Signals and Billows. Thermopro's customer service is top notch.

How do you like the new setup? I've been digging my Signals more and more. I wish there was a hybrid of sorts between these two devices, or with their Signals AND Smoke X4 system.

Great review! Do the buttons all beep everytime you push them? And if so, can it be switched to silent?
@HuSmokin
@HuSmokin 2 года назад
Thank you for watching. All the buttons beep unless you select the vibrate or silent option. But doing so also silences the alarm. 🤦🏻‍♂️

How does one remove the cover to the small receiver to insert the batteries? I am afraid to break it off! Thanks!
@HuSmokin
@HuSmokin 3 года назад
Hey on the TP27’s receiver, there’s a small rectangular tab on the back just above the top of the belt clip. Get your nail in there and flip that back and it will release the backing for battery access. Let me know if that helps.

Can you use one of those smaller ambient probes that aren’t pointy instead of the 4 they provide? Or will the read outs not work properly? Do you have to use only there provided probes?
@HuSmokin
@HuSmokin 3 года назад
Hey I have been able to interchangeably use the meat and ambient probes from the ThermoPro and ThermoWorks products. In my experience so far the readings are identical with the ambient probes being more compact. 👍🏼

@@HuSmokin thanks for the reply. Can’t decide if I want the thermowork smoke or the TP27
@HuSmokin
@HuSmokin 3 года назад
If you have the budget, I’d go for the Smoke X4. I also own the ThermoWorks Billow fan so that’s an additional incentive for me to get one plus the build of the Smoke units feel much better.

No fan or ability to control a fan ? There’s your price difference.
@HuSmokin
@HuSmokin 3 года назад
Totally. And if we’re comparing this to the ThermoWorks Smoke X units then the price gap closes even more. If I were still using my Billows fan I would’ve gone Smoke X easily.

you're not really comparing apples to apples here. you're not addressing features 1:1. and one is made in the USA, the other china.
@HuSmokin
@HuSmokin 2 года назад
Thanks Wayne and I agree... its not apples to apples. Also TW is based in the US but I don't think they make all their stuff here either. Maybe UK? Better than China I suppose. Still using both of these computers though!
