Always makes me nervous when Chris is solving more delicate/fragile puzzles 😂😅 I love when the note pad comes out though, always interesting to see the notes that lead to solving the puzzle!
the intro makes me feel so disconnected from your old videos. I miss the feeling of seeing who you are. its not about what's cool, it's about you. I hope that helps you with why when I watch you it doesn't feel like it used to.
I don't know if it would have been much of a hint, or whether that wheel also did something else and it taking 5 teeth of the gear was coincidental, but the symbol you saw at 11:43 and assigned to the number 5, the 'ẞ', is effectively equivalent to the symbol you ended up using, a double-s ('ss'), in many German words. I mention this because the puzzle company is German as well.
5 is 'Illuminatus' numerology, it's a sacred number to that particular (fictional) organisation... i.e. the sacred 2-3. Less of a stretch than you think :D The puzzle looks heavily influenced by the Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea.
As someone who solved this box some time ago, let me say: The puzzles to discover the "2" and the "5" symbols are entirely illogical and arbitrary - therefore, they're horribly frustrating and dumb. Chris, you didn't miss anything - not this time, anyway. -- The fact that four out of the six parts of the combination are clearly sign-posted with giant numbers to show you where they are and then two of them are NOT, is really frustratingly inconsistent. The gears that are meant to reveal the symbol for #5: If there was a tiny number five hidden in the gears, it would be half-way fixed, as a puzzle. BUT, the other thing they would need to refine is this: The gear you turn to find the correct symbol, it would need to land on the same correct symbol REGARDLESS of rotation direction. Ie: if you turn it up or down, five times, it should land on the same symbol. This could have been designed easily if the gear had 10 points of rotation, meaning 5 up or 5 down both caused it to rotate 180 degrees. But, they didn't do that. So, it's entirely arbitrary and not intuitive. Another clue could have been to have the arrow pointing down or up, instead of outward. And the idea that the tiny 'B' symbol is next to two tiny 'special rivets' that are meant to clue you into the idea that the B is the symbol for tumbler #2, that makes no sense. Only if ALL FIVE of the other symbols had clear signposting would mean that the final one [#2, in this case] could lead the player to deduce the following logic: "I know all the other symbols, and here is another symbol, so it must be for the one I don't know, AND, look! There's TWO bolts here, so it must be for #2." It's a reach to expect the player to not know the symbols for #2 or #5 and have them deduce that the 'B' is for #2, just because of two tiny circles. There are circles that are meant to look like rivets and bolts all over the puzzle. If it was two tiny stars or some other special shape, sure. But there are circles everywhere.
I felt the same you did after I solved this puzzle. It felt a bit odd getting the solution that was more of a guess and I couldn’t reason why that was the answer. Love your videos, especially the puzzles and escape room stuff!
I have this puzzle for a couple of weeks and I was wondering if you gonna try to solve it. Ive spent over an hour and I didnt figure it out so I am not watching this vid 🤣
Love the puzzle videos, Chris. I solved this one a month ago or so and STILL watched the entire video! The nice thing about these puzzles is you can put them away for a year and completely forget how you solved them and get to do the whole thing again. :) (Or at least you can once you hit 50, like me! :') )
My 6&7 year olds love watching you with me! They shout out their guesses as you’re trying to solve, and cheer when you finally do! Thank you, for making videos that are entertaining and keep their minds working!
Hi from the UK, I have been watching you all day, and yes I know that sounds stalking freaky, but I'm not that kinda crazy, just crazy on your channel, not only are you smart, sexy, funny, and tattooed, you are also a rude boy magician. Mr Ramsay you are my FIRST. Love your channel and the little trailers at the start.
That safe looks very easy to just pick up and walk away with...doesn't matter if it's secure or not if someone can just put it in a bag and run away with it.
Love this Chris like I have been following ur content from 2021 where I found ur content like none other on this whole youtube community I slightly felt bad the before upload thinking tht my fav puzzle solver has changed but it's nothing like tht ... love your content Chris... ❤️
Chris you know you should never Assume anything… lol Bit love the intro and the puzzle is adorable, but way to hard for me to comprehend… I’d get frustrated to quickly and probably break it…
I don't like these little wooden puzzles. They often have pieces that seem to simply fall off or out of the puzzle w/out any seeming reason why. They also have these stuck wheel issues that Chris came across in this video. I much prefer the other types of puzzle boxes that he's solved.
I have my own thoughts on this. He is talented and have watched and like most videos. The hand symbol was a bit much but being agnostic, I doubt he cares about any religious symbolism. In other news I dont like the balsa wood puzzles that much.
That puzzle seemed...poor. Nice laser cut, interesting look, but just didn't feel all that logical. Like you were saying in the outro, not satisfying. You shouldn't have to guess much on a puzzle, in my opinion. (Okay, "what if it's X?" guessing is fine, but "let's try all the combinations" guessing is lame.)
I have been gone for a while, puzzles were big and one off but these small puzzles were what brought me here. Glad to see them back and I have catching up to do. Great into Chris
No hate to anyone and I hate to seem like I bring negativity but I just can’t jive with these type of puzzles as much. They are all set in the same process of solution and I at least wish the creators would paint them. They just get so boring to look at after awhile. I just wonder if I’m the only one who feels this way. And of course I still watch because they aren’t horrible and Chris could make opening a can of beans fun to watch anyway
When you start counting the sides and you tap one of the sides "This is 1, 2 and 3 and then the next side you say is 4" - even though seconds prior you show that the top side is 4. I think you confused yourself there. Loving these puzzles though
Hi Chris, l played a game called haunted laia it took me 3 to 4h to complete the game it's a puzzle game ps I was wondering if you can make a vid on the game? It's so hard and you have to think out side the box.😅
How would that safe keep anything safe it looks useless anyone could just pick it up and walk away with it and smash it open with a hammer not safe I'd call it I'd never want one for anything lame I'd say.
A safe is only as good as it is not portable. Anyone that wants to steal your stuff would just take it and pry it open with a crowbar or some other destructive method. That's why effective safes are hundreds of pounds or bolted to something that is. That little flimsy thing is nothing more than a novelty
has anyone else noticed alot of his videos have a weird color to em and a green bar that goes across the top of my screen thought it was my computer but it does it on my phone as well or is this an issue with youtube??
LOL, love the paranoid/conspiracy opener... those're so creative, both your opener and conspiracy theories Oh, there are lots of 'Illuminati' type symbols, for the initiated... the number 5 as somebody below has talked about... the Golden Apple as well. Definitely a book recommendation is to read the Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea. This puzzle looks to have been heavily influenced by those books.
Konig Safe- Is your 20% discount added to the already 17% discount or is it really only a 3% difference? If only 3%, I think they one-up'd you for an ad.
I have bought 3 escape welt puzzle boxes and I can confidently say, they are not my favorite. They all feel like you have to guess at least 1 solution instead of using logic and all of the provided information.
I think I have an earlier version of this puzzle. Maybe they thought it was too easy to solve that one, cause I think you're version of it was much harder The symbols for nr 2 and 5 was really easy to find on my version, but I don't understand how to find them on yours.
