I want to thank you for this video. It took me back about 40 years when I was closer to your age. You were doing all the same stuff we did back then, from the camping to the bouncing around in old ragged pieces of junk. My best friend had an old K5 Blazer with the roof off that he used to hunt in fish in the river bottoms. He would literally fill it up with oil and check the gas. Every so often it was time to shovel the leaves out. He also had a 79 Bronco when it was new. Good memories!

I love this series. The vehicle is interesting, the concept is interesting, ya'll work together well, and the camera work tells a good story. Now that you have your Bronco running, perhaps a good challenge would be to contact Ian Johnson formally of History Channel's Extreme 4x4. Get him to patch together a comparable ride and ya'll go out and have a good time together. Fair warning though, Ian does tend to get carried away on his rebuilds ...

A fun video! Your body sway is probably bad panhard bushings. Usually pretty cheap, and not too hard to do. If you want to really increase the off-road capability, drop the third member and weld the open gears. “Lincoln Locker”. Basically turns your rear axle into a spool. Type F for transmission fluid

With the timing marks I like to clean dry then rub a piece of chalk on the numbers,take a rag and wipe the balancer..the chalk stays on the numbers super easy to see with the timing light

Well Kevin, since a Mercury Cougar is your dream car, I have owned mine, my first car bought when I was 14. I am the second owner of it and have owned it for 26 years now. A 1968 flavor to be exact. It's sitting in a storage unit in Florida since 2012, I have a long block 390 I built sitting next to it. I just need some time and motivation to get from Alaska to Florida to get it going. If you're interest on helping me accomplish that goal and make some vids out of it like the Cutlass, shoot me a message. chalk or pencil works for marking the the balancer. carbon from burnt/charred wood also. smear it in the grooves deep and wipe excess gently ;) I can wing it and get it within a few degrees by ear, but I'm a wee older then thee and worked on plenty of dinosaurs :))

John, you gotta lay across the hammock at a bit of an angle not parallel with the suspension lines. Lets you lay a lot more flat instead of bending your spine along the arc of the hammock. I had a 1980 F150 with 351 that had overheating issues. I put a smaller diameter pulley on it and never another issue even pulling trailers. Was a really good truck

Kevin, spend an extra $1.50 on green onions. Chop them up with an old license plate, and your food immediately gets twice as fancy. (Plus, you can plant the roots and grow infinitely more -- after you're home, that is.)
