I love Angus’ response whenever Kevin tells him “The rain’s a-coming… we gotta get the corn in!”. He sounds so eternally exasperated when he responds, “…That’s not how any of this works.”
I like this concept. “Budget” farming. All the other farm channels have family operations that are multiple generations old and have millions of dollars worth of equipment. I’m not mad at them, but it’s cool seeing how “cheap” you could get started. At the end of the series you should do a cost breakdown of what it cost for equipment, repairs, seed, etc and show the numbers.
My dad is one gen, we have had at one point million wort of equipment probably, when the harvesters were new :D Started independent farming in around 91, with old equipment together with other people from occupier(by russians) formed kolhoz that were disbanded then. Had to share cow farm buildings, plows, tillers, seeders, everything :) Basically had a tractor and shared equipment. Only people with knowledge and persistence (and some with susbstantial pull) made it as modern farmers.
"I don't need a radio, I've got a Mook", love it, I'd feel the same way, she's the best. So many things to do videos on, you've got your hands full buddy! No interest in farming here, but I love watching your videos, you and Angus are a great team, and Mook is awesome.
Thank you for this. People need to see this side of America and how rural people live and operate. This takes me back to when I was a kid and how my day to day was working on the farm. Thank you again.
JYD always makes my day. You guys are hilarious and the fact you dressed like farmers makes it even funnier. It's nice to see old equipment getting another chance at life and glad to see the 68 is still doing well and I guess it is a good thing that the heater works as good as it does especially for the age of the truck. Kevin can finally start his dream of planting corn. Kevin: "this thing rides pretty good for its age." Angus: almost dies
Kevin dancing on the back of the disk while Angus is swearing trying to hook it up to the truck is the most farmer thing I have ever seen, keep up the great videos
I'm 70 years old and I love this video ! I grew up on a farm. And We FARMED. We grew everything we needed. Every vegetable we needed, Beef, hay for the cattle, everything ! All done with old school tractors and tools. NO damn hydraulics , just pure muscle ! Looking forward to the next vids ! Keep them coming..
This series is cracking me up, simply hilarious. From the lack of pliers, your fantastic choice of apparel, right through to radio Mook! Bloody brilliant guys, keep it going. From the far North of Thailand where I live and work.
I love how every time you bring some new rig home on this channel, your cats immediately come out to inspect it. Also, Mook + energy drinks & candy is pure entertainment.
Before I got into old Pickups trucks was into Farm equipment I actually have the old Allis charmers WD that I rescued from a barn a few years ago and I still do use it a lot with my old farm equipment that I also revived from the trees I love old farm equipment and farming is part of my life and I’m happy more people like Kevin are get into it too
My family farmed near Atlantic, Iowa until my brother retired 2 years ago. I drove a WD and an old WC Allis tractor growing up. Went to Iowa State University in the 70s so your channel is hitting pretty close to home. Right down to the farm cats and Mook’s sense of humor. Thanks.
I'm a little behind with my viewing, but this has to be one your best productions to date. It has everything from humour, old junk coming back from the dead, Mook the Mad, Angus and all the great guys on the farms. There is a whole sub genre in budget farming for you to exploit. Go for it!
You kids bring joy to this old man. There is a peace and satisfaction in what you are doing. Take it from this old farmer, therapy on the tractor seat is the best. 🚜🇺🇲👍
I'm a dairy farmer and an loving this series. A Farmall H was the 1st tractor I drove. Keep up the good work and entertainment. I look forward to the rest.
And we definitely need to see more of the man that I believe you called your Uncle, or someone's uncle anyhow! He's got that spirit you need when looking at "new" vehicles! Lol
That's a cool 1972 Chevrolet C20 with a 4 speed!! Can't wait to see that in a future video Hopefully :) Bandit Trans am Edition. YES! Honda ATC 110 Kevin that Chevy at your uncle's is maybe a 1967 or 68 can't tell because the grill is broken & you should do a rival video to. Very cool farm equipment.
Grew up on a farm in Ohio. This was my childhood. Going to friends and neighbors to get farm equipment for the season. Everybody shared equipment. If something broke while you were using it, you got the parts, fixed it, greased it, then put it back on the row with the rest of the equipment.
This series (Gettin' The Corn In!) is very entertaining... I just about lost it when Angus pulled the enormous Channel-Locks out of his overalls! (I appreciate references to previous skits and jokes) Mook looks good in overalls...
It’s like low budget roadkill for farmers and it’s bloody brilliant.. every episode is just perfect😂 and not to mention he running joke of the giant pliers which is so stupid, and it gets me every time😂😂
Love everything about this. My grandparents were farmers, so this brings back great memories. He even had an H tractor and a super M. Thank you for sharing.
FYI I'm a "learning" farmer, who's grandpa farmed. and I LOVE this. I don't actually go so much for the car videos but I love this series. please continue it!
Really enjoying the series, can't wait for the next episode. It's great to see you have very helpful and friendly neighbors keep up the good work Kevin, gotta get that corn in
this series is what got me started watching you guys, i personally have a farmall h i am restoring and i have a 8 foot disk i pull behind it and i pulls it just fine so your h should pull it just fine
@@JunkyardDigs yeah i don’t know about the planter, i don’t see why it wouldn’t be able to pull it, it might have a little bit of a hard time, the farmall h’s don’t have a ton of power, they were more made for a utility tractor for farms and i’ve never seen an h pull a planter that big but if anything you could probably drop a few rows
It will pull the planter just fine. The cultivator on the other hand will work its guts out. Start dropping shanks till it will pull it, and dont sink it only enough to cover the shovels
I work on a beef farm in the south east of australia, watching you guys revive old equipment like what my grandpa does is super neat. this is one of my favourite series' on the channel. Apart from the campervan to nascar ones
I didn't grow up on a crop farm, but I did grow up on a cattle farm. I've always loved your other videos, and I'm enjoying these even more! Keep doing them!
Absolutely love your channel, and what a novel idea...get some old equipment, service it and plant a crop...looking forward to seeing how it goes...thanks!
It’s amazing how far a set of rotten tires will go on a piece of farm equipment, my hay elevator has had rotten tires for 20 years, yet they still hold air and go down the road
It's pretty cool seeing you guys going threw with this plan. Me and my family have been really into antique tractors my whole life; running them at out local threshing jamboree. We don't use ours in the field, but it's always fun to see them out working. This kind of content is just as enjoyable as the car stuff lol.
Seeing these videos makes me think about moving to a place like this. It just seems so much more peaceful and spacious. And lots of cool junk to work on LOL.
"This is why we can't have nice things." Or even old, rusted and busted things. I'd have given you a dollar for that chair. You guys are hilarious! Thanks for the videos, and all the best to you. I hope your tetanus shots are the extra-strength type.
If you have no idea what you are doing, then keep up the good work. Because you have made it to the second year, farming like anything else is a learning process. If you haven't quit by now, you actually are doing something right. Good luck with your future.
This is to the most interesting series I've watched, and I have been watching the channel for car content. I am Supprised how friendly the people are in America. Kinda wanna see a video about that 3 wheeler now.
Thanks for the entertainment. I've been involved in family farming in the U.K and now nearly 22 years in Canada and fixing other peoples equipment for more years than I'd like to remember. When you've grown the corn the next step is going back and getting that mix mill to process the food for your home grown hogs ! As long as you guys don't turn into Chucke2009 I'll watch, he was just out to lunch on most of his channel happenings in the end. He wouldn't listen to real world practical experience, but loved the guys with university degrees in all subjects he had anything to do with, book smart and real world experience aren't even close sometimes . Take care both of you and all involved in helping with the farming part of the channel.
I can't believe how well car tires hold up on equipment sometimes. I've pulled a pull type combine home before 6 hrs on tires not too far off from of those.
I am not a farmer but these videos have helped me escape from reality so to speak wile deployed. Has me super excited to start reviving my 1954 Chevy 3100 when I get home. Thank you for doing what you do. Doesn’t matter what your working in it’s always fun to watch.
I’m loving this stuff, that cultivator looks like the one we pulled behind the 706 international was a kid🤣, can’t wait to see you get it all working and planting corn 👍👍
I’m one of those farmers and I’m loving all the equipment you’re finding and then see the vehicles and the truck and car guy comes out of me for a minute
Cannot wait for next week's episode! I'm absolutely loving this series! I don't think anybody on RU-vid has done something like this before. Killer idea!
Keep em coming. Cars, trucks, tractors, stationary engines, 3 wheelers, weed whackers, chain saws... if it is old and mechanical in any way, we will watch it.
This series has made me laugh out loud quite a bit, which I'm impressed with. I'm not a car guy by any means, but I just love how natural you guys make it look.
I'm another farmer that just loves watching your channel. Although I think that 10-ft disc is going to be quite a bit too much for that old h but I'm waiting to find out. Thanks again for all the good content
This is awesome. My family has be fames for generations and some of my best memories were working with my grandfather on his old Ford 3000 tractor. In fact I’m planning on restoring that tractor to it’s former glory here soon. It’s been on my mind for many years, but you guys have inspired me to get it done
@@JunkyardDigs for sure! And the barn that you have been going to in Sigourney are you by chance going back? Bcs I live there and would it be a possibility for you guys to stop by? My mother has homemade jelly that she would love to give away! If you can’t that is TOTALY fine!
Having grown up on a farm myself, I gotta say I like the idea of getting abandoned farm equipment and making it work! In fact, the revival of the Farmall reminded me of all the work my dad and I did to get our ‘39 9N running. Keep up the good work!
Yes, so glad for part 2. Have been waiting eagerly for this. Really enjoyed the first one. Keep it up guys 🚜 As a farmer these are really funny to watch too.
Only very recently discovered this channel. I'm impressed by how many videos involve helping people clean out old sheds and properties in exchange for stuff for videos. It's a very noble concept and I'm here for it.
I like the farm stuff series. It reminds me of my younger years when I would get home from work and my dad would have some kind of junk sitting there waiting for me to work on it. Usually it was his own junk, but sometimes it would be random junk he bought. What made it bad was him buying row cropping stuff when we had beef cows and did not row crop. Good times.
I am a dirtbiker and fisherman, im looking to rebuild a old farmall tractor and your channel is such an amazing thing ive come across. thank you for the content.
I really enjoy the fact that you have no "lane" to stay in. So many channels are concentrated on a single type yours always brings the entertainment. Also.... one of your farmers....😁
I have to be honest what first caught my attention to the channel was I thought you were Tucker from the insidious movies. Reviving the farmall definitely hooked me. The lo Boy at 40:16 and the front loader at 40:47 was a nice added bonus. Looking forward to future harvesting videos 👍
Brings me back to my summers as a teen helping my uncle on the farm. I had a flashback when you said, "It doesn't have to work well it just has to work," and again when you backed the truck into the disk.
Mook is a national treasure!!!! This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen on RU-vid. Good job y'all. You might just end up with some corn after all...... But how are you going to harvest???? Love seeing all the old equipment and vehicles too. Too much fun!!!! You got yourself a new subscriber.
I'm not a farmer, but Agriculture was a required subject in High School. I was more of a Rancher, grandfather was a real cowboy, but my Dad had the grocery store so I was well versed in farming. I love the videos, look forward to more! This is real recycling!
High 5 to the old Ford truck for making the trip with no issues. I was previously married into an old farm family that was down to 40 acres for fun. But we still had an 8N, 9N , and a Golden Jubilee that all ran like day 1.
