We vote every day for the kind of world we want with our £1, with our $1. We have a choice not to buy the crap. We have a choice to pick up litter and post it back to the offending company without a stamp. Our local council incinerates waste with more than 1% cross contmination. The more plastic is recycled the more thermosetting and unrecycleable it becomes. This has been known about since at least the 1970's. Giving it a new label like 'circular economy' will not help. Vote with the $1, the £1 and if necessary buy nothing.

This isn’t a true circular economy because it is not being made into the thing. It’s like if bottles were made into clothing, it’s still not a loop

How about we stop our reliance on plastic in the first place? It's not the only material out there. We should be investing in more sustainable materials that can actually biodegrade.

We need Americans and Brits to stop making videos that claim plastic end in landfills. In Northern Europe we don't do land fills, and most plastic *is* recycled. But we have to deal with people that watch these videos, and throw plastic in the bins for residual waste.
