I was going to say the same about seitan - especially since he's serving tofu. Just because seitan and tempe (and tofu!) are used as meat substitutes, doesn't mean that's their sole purpose. He doesn't seem like he knows how to use them as their own thing instead of just an alternative to chicken.

Rooibos is a South African tea made from the Rooibos plant, which we call a 'fynbos', or type of fine, small and dry bushy plant that is native to the country. Rooibos is an appellation of origin similar to Cognac or Champagne and real Rooibos comes from the Western Cape region of South Africa. It's got some really incredible culinary translations - maybe you guys could do a tea week and explore it (and some other beautiful, exotic tea flavours) further. Would recommend a Rooibos cocktail, or even use it as a basis for a pork glaze - works well with citrus, ginger and even in a rye bread!

@viveledecadence it's so easy with just some tiny changes isn't it! Like I now cook mushrooms in a tiny bit of vegetable oil instead of a blob of butter, so if I'm doing a vegetarian style meal (meat is soooooo expensive!!) it just happens to turn vegan by changing barely anything!

The tea is rooibos, pronounced "Roy boss" (you can roll the "r" if you feel up to it) and it's very popular in South Africa :)

Yes! :) A lot of people start out with just the food for health, environmental or the animal ethics side of things. As they look more into the diet side, they find out more about the benefits of avoiding other products relating to animal consumption. :)

Rooibos! That comes from my hood man. South Africa. Directly translated it means red bush. Other countries advertise it as a "health tea", but we just drink it as an every day tea. It is delicious though.

I don't like that western mindset that Tofu=Meat substitute... it is not? it is just its own thing, look at all the chinese/japanese disches that combine tofu with meat or fish...now there are of course substitutes made of tofu, but tofu itself is just tofu

Rooibos is from South Africa. It literally means red bush in Afrikaans. It is one of the most drunk teas here. I love it as it is caffeine free.

Rooibos Tea originates from where I live: South Africa. It only grows in the Western Cape Province of the country. It's delicious and healthy! It also often gets paired with a lot of flavours. Maybe you guys can visit South Africa and try it here :D

Lmao I love how surprised they are when vegan food tastes good. Its not like we just sit and eat carrots and peppers all day (although given some hummus, I'd be happy). But honestly peoples mindset towards veganism is crazyyyy.. videos like this always shock me at how it is assumed to be such a boring, negative thing when its literally the opposite.

You're in the best place to get into it! Try doing it in a tiny northern farm town where the most exotic spice to add to your lovely vegan dinner is cracked black pepper! Took the local fruit n veg shop until 2 years ago to get garlic bulbs.. had to drive 15 miles to a Morrisons before then! Good luck lads! Keep them minds open, even now a lot of vegan places are hit and miss.

Rooibos isn't even hipster. My mum drinks it and is has been a thing in Germany for ages (I don't like it, tbh. if you have something less sweetened than that bottle you got there and just have it as a normal hot infusion (what is also called "tea", in Germany - so when you order "Tee" here, be prepared to be offered all kinds of infusions. Sometimes they don't even have "normal" tea!) it tastes of wet socks...)
