Timestamps are integrated into the video now showing each segment dedicated to this device.
This is under 40 minutes for this device so that's why there's timestamps so you can skip to wherever you need to be. No harm in doing so! If you are here to see the teardown, you can skip to that. If you are here just for the specs, you can skip to that - absolutely no problems whatsoever!

Greetings and welcome to another installment in the series I started a while ago called TACKY TABLETS, a series in which I test technologically terrible tacky tablets that I have collected over the years to demonstrate any redeeming qualities that these devices may have.
I've had this tablet for MANY years and after showing it on Stream I decided...now is the time to finally look at this thing and see how good it is.
Basically it's a generic tablet with an Apple Logo painted on the back.
Otherwise...that's it. I expected this to be filled with a lot of janky stuff but sadly not.
Regardless, if you do want to see more in the future, feel free to let me know and I can add them to my TO DO list!
Grab a snack and a drink and sit back as I take a look at this...thing. (Well I know the name but I'll leave that for the video)

Welcome to another installment in my "TACKY TABLETS" series which I look at very questionable tablets and see if they are worthy or not. Many people ask for me to look at more tablets and after holding onto this for so many years and not doing anything with it - here it is. But there's not a lot going on with it though, hopefully it's still an entertaining watch ;) OnePlus 10T Review coming up, maybe in 2 weeks as there's a lot of work going into the review. This tablet reminds me of one that was sold in Germany at a food discounter for 99€ in 2009 (EDIT: it was 2011 oof) or something. It was called the jay tech tablet and it had less than 512MB RAM and a single core CPU, as far as i remember. It was called the worst tablet in the world, because even the boot logo was stuttery and the screen felt like rubber foil. When i'm back in Germany from Mongolia next January, i will look out if i can find one of them somewhere, any if you are interested, i may send it to you.

The LG Wing is a nice one, shame it wasn't sold here in australia. Bought one earlier this year which came from south korea, the blue/pink color shifting one, was the cheapest of that color on eBay at the time. After seeing it was one of the last phones LG made, i set out to get one & has been my main phone for a couple months now almost. And i can play some PS2 games & Gameboy Advance ones at the same time for example, thanks to it's main feature, the swivel screen as shown here. And it wasn't the last made, the last ones made i have seen were the LG W41, W41+ & W41 Pro.

I had a similar Coby tablet from this era, with 4.0.4 as the OS. The wallpapers are all stock, from Android, they aren't stolen off something or anything like that. These things were decent on a budget, but for powerful stuff, an ipad 3rd gen or ipad mini would be better. Oh and the CPU on these things were either Rockchip's or Allwinner's, most of the tablet from this era had 8 or 16GB of storage, an Allwinner A10/A12/A13 processor, or the Rockchip RK3066/RK29XX CPU's, with either Android 4.0.3/4.0.4 ICS or 4.1/4.2 jelly bean.

I had a tablet with the same chipset and the same OS 10 years ago, the video player could actually do 4K - the trick is that the tablet uses an additional chip for hardware decoding video, so your 4K videos had to be in a few specific codecs (including H.264 I think) for them to work. The CPU itself was much too weak for the task.

Later I found out that something was buzzing and sadly it had tendency to turn it self on when battery was low and then turn off as... battery was low. It repeated that on-off crap soo many time that I was wondering how big battery was inside until one day back cover popped up as battery decided to get fat. I have no idea how it managed to puff so much as battery need some energy to do that and this damn tablet still had it after few days of constant on-off marathon... Now I wish that I would take a pic or write down info of that battery as I seriously believe that it was some super secret prototype that could power whole house for many days as there is no way that normal battery would try to turn tablet on for so long without any charge...

Was expecting to see Honeycomb running on that thing :P Am curious if there was effective HDMI output - did you give it a shot? Had a few old MID devices (earlier than this unit) where there was significant voodoo required in order for HDMI to function what-so-ever. One device required a patched version of VLC to use HDMI and it was only for full screen video decoding. 5V barrel jack and dedicated OTG socket is nice to see - though a full size USB A socket should have fit just fine. Could have been a decent enough device back in the day for specific uses. The Apple badge really cheapens the device IMO. I still use an old budget single core Lenovo tablet w\ OTG setup for certain tasks ( Has a low res but very good quality IPS display, long battery life and has fallen down multiple flights of stairs with barely a scratch. Yay for all plastic! )

It’s an 4k player. It didn’t show that video, because it doesn’t show 4k, but it played 4k sound, like it was supposed to.

no way this reminded me of the cheap tablet that i bought for my brother (he was little then). i think the mobile data works with the otg module which i had back then, that's why probably there are two micro usb ports. anyway it was pretty shitty tho, you can find better things around.

I actually had a very similar piece of crap like this back in 2012. It was actually sold under a brand name that was in our country, caller “Allview Alldro 2 Speed Duo”. The damn thing was sold by T-Mobile for around 250$. God i was so pissed when my father got me that tablet knowing i could have just bought a Samsung tablet around that price. After 2 years the digitizer died without having 1 drop. Stopped working one day and that was it,display turning on but no touch input :/

That's what happened to me, my parents got me an Ellipsis 7 back when prices of the Tab 3 were $50 cheaper. Still wanna track another down for my collection someday and was just pleased to have a device that connected to the internet back then but I was still a little confused at the choice. I had it in a long crossbody bag and sadly accidentally crushed it in a car door. :(

I and a mate had Archos gamepads that were similar to this (Running Jellybean, and not performing all that well for "Gaming" tablets.) discounted from a UK supermarket in late 2014. His lasted a while but really didn't perform, mine lasted all of two weeks before a very light fall (Off a bed onto a carpeted floor 30cm below) destroyed the screen. Not a good look for a device that was heavily targeted toward kids! 📱💥😢 Internally, I believe they're similar to many "AllWinner" devices - Generic mainboard attached to whatever screen, battery and speakers happen to be available to the manufacturer. The gamepad also had physical gaming controls on it with notable input lag (So I assume hooked up to the mainboard via I2C) and wasn't even worth the £49,- discounted price, let alone the £99,- they originally sold at. 😯 The key takehome from this? I haven't bought another Archos device since. They were good up to around maybe 2008, but after that point they just went - Well - In the same direction as HM Government! 🙃

i remember when computers had 8 mb of memory and ran normally. these days you need to avoid anything below 2 gb. just think of how much of a difference 8 mb vs 1000 mb (1gb)

I don't think the pins are bent, the name of the item mentions it's a T-Mobile US device (not an unlocked phone), which was probably why the sim didn't work and also why it was $150.

high chance that this lg is not faulty, and it just doesnt have any circuitry to work with sim card (called live demo unit and used in markets, its made this way to prevent demo phones from being stolen an reselled after)

fun fact: this allwinner a10 (1x ARM Cortex A8 @1200mhz) which is in the fake iPad is faster than the apple A4 (1x ARM Cortex A8 @1000mhz) in the Original iPad but you will usually feel it slower than original iPad because of the OS they're running EDIT: the allwinner A10 is a 55nm CPU, and the Apple A4 is a 45nm CPU
