Every time someone crashes through the local post office it costs the land lord tens of thousands of dollars to repair the building. So I offered my services and my bid got accepted. We run into a few challenges along the way but complete the job a few days ahead of schedule. I’m glad I was able to help save the structure of the building will a job well done!
Here’s some tools I used in the video
Coring drill-amzn.to/3tjKB5g
8” coring bit-www.amazon.com...
Cat work pants- amzn.to/3RFYKTL
Cheap hammer drill- amzn.to/41oyMY8
Here’s the link to the estimate of this job- • How To Get Welding Job...

Watching from Louisiana. I learn so much from watching your videos. I really like how technical you get and how "this is what you do" real world view.

6:17 Yeeeez, be carefull Anthony those machines will rip your arm off. You are supposed to bolt the machine down in the concrete with fasterners so that it can not come loose. I wish you all the best :)

If you're coring through the core should pull right out without breaking it up. Drill a 1/4" hole for a concrete screw and bolt a lifting eye to them.

I know its different everywhere but Home Depot in Ohio requires us to use 6” pole. They want them 3 feet in 5 feet out and a 24x24 square cut around bottom. I unfortunately have set more bollards than I ever want to think about. I’ve seen engineer drawings for these in parking lots that want some crazy stuff that is way overkill. For what you did here its perfect for that lot in my opinion.

A couple things I do is run a couple string lines. One to make all of the tops level, and one to make them all in a straight line. It looks like you just butted them up against the sidewalk which works. Unfortunately they approved using a smaller size. It looks like shit having different sizes, but not on your part. Stay safe!
@MeltinMetalAnthony
@MeltinMetalAnthony 8 месяцев назад
Ya the cost was significantly more to go up in size. As far as alignment we just eyeballed the top. They came out straight to the eye. But I bet not perfect if you put a laser or string to them.

Random question. Did you ever figure out that rockmount airless gouging rod? I had the same issues you did initially. And the rockmount rep I demoed with was worthless.

seriously, try dry packing the bag mix. just pour it in the hole dry and pack it in with a heavy bar as you go.. if the ground is damp, the conc' will go off fine. If the ground is realy dry, put some water in the hole first. . Four big advantages. the conc' will pack the surrounding ground. the conc will pack down realy hard you can adjust for plumb as you pack down. Stong and stable straight away, even stronger tomorrow. . wet to top inch or so, so you can make it look finished. . This comes up way stronger than you might expect. . Try this dry packing at your place, compared to wet poured ..... be sure to make the vid .... you can have this one for free.

Watching from az, we have a multitude of contractor's licenses from strait welding, fencing, handrails decorative metal etc. Do you have that same issue in FL or MT? If so did u get them all or?

Well that's weird cause here in Boston they have things that are called codes only reason I'm saying at least when you put these in front of gas meters minimum 48 inches below and above grade .I don't remember spacing but please people look up what your city's bullshit code is trust me took me forever same shit my holes full of rocks took forever to do 8 of them

Around something like a gas pump is one thing. In front of a business like this is another. I doubt they even require bollards in front of a business like this
@MeltinMetalAnthony
@MeltinMetalAnthony 8 месяцев назад
That’s a gas meter, and it’s also based on how much speed a vehicle can gain in a certain amount of space. The GC I work for in Florida has me bury everything 1/3 of the way in the ground, so I just piggybacked that because this parking lot is significantly smaller than a Home Depot
