WELDING ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME! Most of my work is done out of my welding rig I call "El Caracol". I've been in the business for around 6 years now and welded for about 10. These are some of the jobs I take on.
*Haha, every once in awhile someone comes to visit the shop sees something in the corner and says "Can I buy that?" The answer is usually if it's gone in ten minutes you don't even have to buy it, lol*
Where are you guys finding school that are 30k for welding??? 😂😂😂😂 my local trades school is 8 months for 5-8k max depending on the school and you’ll get a few of your tickets at the end as well….. idk if you guys are exaggerating or just don’t know wtf you’re talking about 😂
yeah as a scenic welder fabricator with a structural and fx background and a cwb supervisor .. i see this all the time.. it just grinds me when the shop guys cant be bothered to hide the hss seams to be aesthetic...
@@anxietyonline1947 structural public art much huh.. details are in the note on the blueprint.. just like putting too plates up top of the post at the brewery but thats a 40 grand job you wont go back and fix easily now that automation is installed.. but how many patch welder you get bouncing back
Making the best of what you got I like it because weaving is easier said than done especially correctly. However I do NDE and it might not go so well for that weld. I would love to X-ray that weld heck PT might not pass😂! I don't want to be the youtube expert but this is literally my job. I would run an extra pass on the thickest part and turn it up hot as possible without burning thru. The thing with welding is everyone thinks they are a expert and just because I was a 1rst class shipfitter and do inspection doesn't mean I am expert but I would add some beads to it and run it hot. Being honest the weld can be pretty or ugly and it doesn't mean its good or bad. Ugly welds can have better fusion and pretty welds can have less fusion. I have done beautiful welds where the slag comes off itself in 1 piece and it was like the pink mist. I have also done welds that were ugly as heck but held 150 tons.
I love hack work when you could have just cut it off cleaner with a portaband and grinded less. No hate on the welding, because that’s not what the video is about. Garbage fitting and shortcuts is.
